Thanks balance, I appreciate you calling me out on the cake . I do love that this plan has fruit in it. Not much, but a half banana and some blueberries helps satisfy that graving a bit.
I might be wrong about the steak price, maybe it was $20ish for the package, rather than the pound, but its delicious regardless.

I was 251lbs this morning. I'll post pictures tomorrow.... because I'm desperately hoping to lose 20 pounds of belly fat today... oh well.
This is what I left the house with. Because of a school thing with my daughter, I had to eat breakfast on the drive in... banana/steak/eggs/oats. the rest of my 3-meal work day will be an avocado, tuna, rice (brown and white), broccoli, spinach, steak, and shrimp. And a workout shake.
Last night I got home from the gym at 7, made everyone dinner, played Mario Bros with the kids, walked the dog, from 9-10ish cooked steak, shrimp, and potatoes. Showered, bed by 10:30.

Almost end of week one. Not a whole lot to report.
(Sorry about the lack of starting pics, by the time I think about it in the morning, I’m already dressed for work. I will fix that tomorrow, a week late shouldn’t matter much. I could post some post-gym pics but those always seem… unhelpful)
Cylce: I’m only 3 injections into the cycle, and a fist-full of Dbol . Not much change.
Diet: Last Saturday I was 253, I’m 249 this morning. I’ve been spot on with my diet goals and getting better at cooking seafood. I don’t miss chicken at all but I am getting tired of chewing beef. I’ll say that eating 6 times a day versus 4 has been an adjustment, I’m never hungry. I started MK677 in the mornings so we’ll see if that helps with appetite.
Training: The gym is PACKED with Resolutionists. They’ll fall off soon enough but I’m dancing between people texting away on their iPhones. They don’t really bother me, but they’re sorta in the way of my timing. My plan has different rep ranges and moves around a bit…. Historically I stay in that 6-10 reps for legs, maybe 12 for something like extensions. So this sucked:
4 sets of:
Standing Hamstring Curls – 20 reps
Seated Hamstring Curls – 20 reps
Leg Extensions – 20 reps
Leg Press – 20 reps
One Leg Smith Machine Squats – 20 reps each leg
Standing Calve Raises – 20 reps
Tonight is Chest/Delts and Triceps I think.
Sleep: This is odd…. I’m sleeping GREAT and I never sleep great. I have no idea why but I think its my pre-bedtime meal of Milk/almonds/protein shake. I’ve slept better this past week than maybe I have in 2-3 years. Does Nolva make people sleepy??
Random thoughts: Tomorrow is my off day. My Tupperware full of meat and I will be out goose hunting if the rain holds off. Otherwise not much planned aside from going back to Sam’s Club for more meat. I've seen this mentioned a few times around here already, but started watching The Witcher on Netflix, not bad. And, embarrassingly enough, I just learned this and it might be my new favorite word: schadenfreude - Satisfaction or pleasure felt at someone else's misfortune. I know, probably makes me a terrible person.

Oh and did you happen to find an intra workout with dextrose??? Thats also in my plan but having a hard time finding one.
-

Generally I don't like drinking anything during my workouts, not even water, but I'm doing what I'm told so....
But yeah, I went with straight Dextrose powder from NOW Nutrition, through amazon (credit to Charger). Its just a big orange jug of a fancy sugar(ish) powder. I'm still working on the mix, but I did 2 tablespoons, with a some unflavored BCAA powder, a teaspoon of unflavored creatine, and unflavored beta-alanine (all from Bulksupplements). I used to drink a PRE-workout shake with the same BCAA, creatine, Beta-Alanine, but also with a scoop of Chocolate whey.
So I kept the same shake, tossed in the dextrose and drank it INTRA-workout.... but it was just too thick and goey with the protein powder and I hated the taste. I don't need the protein powder given the rest of my diet, so the second time I only added water and some Propel Grape powder (and the BCAA/B-A/Creatine/Dextrose).... Tasted kinda like cool-aid, I can deal with it but I still don't love it.
Was the dextrose helpful tho?? I'm not honestly sure yet. I've only used it twice, an upper body day, and a leg day. I will say I'm not as leg-sore today as I thought I might be, but I also did a high-rep leg workout which I've never done before.... I know, unhelpful right?
If I had any influence over people at all, I would force them to change ONLY ONE thing at a time. It's the only way to assess the effectiveness of the change.

Honestly, things like intraworkout dextrose aren’t something you’re really going to notice, unless your overall carb intake is so low that you’re seeing lulls in blood glucose and reduced muscle glycogen. Kinda like creatine and beta alanine, it’s more like pennies in the bank. The only time pre/intra glucose gives me anything truly noticeable, is when I’m running my hard cuts.

I'm a huge fan of intra workout nutrition and carbs.. the glut 4 elevation and positive nutrient partitioning and shuttling of co factors into muscle cells is at its highest around the workout. the best time to get a spike in insulin and blood sugars. all nutrients that go into muscle cells "catch a ride" with insulin and glucose.
the fastest way to go from LA to New York is a one way flight.. why not take advantage of that. you don't need lay overs and multiple plane stops along the way.
likewise, whats the best time to carry nutrients to the muscle ? when nutrients are only carried via BLOOD in the first place .. well yeah, when blood flow is at its highest. thats the best time to "catch a ride". its a one way flight..
99% of the time your body is not directing blood flow to muscle cells. the 1% of the time that that blood flow is actually there, and nutrition is only carried via blood, then thats a good time to take in insulin and glucose to help drive more nutrietns to muscle cells

-

Oh, don’t get it twisted. I’m not saying that it’s not useful. My point was more that it’s not something you’re going to notice or feel acutely, unless you’re already depleted and/or in a low blood glucose state. Hence my “pennies in the bank” statement. It adds up, but it’s not a paycheck hitting, so to speak.

agree . pennies add up over time though. especially in regards to 'recovery' . and recovery is one of the biggest factors with intra workout nutrition .. a lot of guys talk about intra workout nutrition not being that important, but they are mainly talking from a performance enhancement perspective . but in the current situation with Charlie, we are really trying to optimize recovery needs

if I recall off the top of my head , the last contest prep diet I had sent to you had a lot of chicken breast and white fish and asparagus in it .. also lots of cosmetic AAS. but your context was way different then Charlies is. he is not just trying to get lean for the stage.. we are trying to put on a ton of muscle, and get leaner, and increase health, performance, etc.. all at the same time.
chicken breast and asparagus won't cut it in this situation.
also. we are trying to make the AAS work extremely efficient with much lower dosages. that means the nutritional co factors are going to have to be at 'high dosages' .. and things like steak have way way more nutritional co factors then chicken. so chicken is a waste of time (in this situation)
if a person only ate chicken breast and nothing else, they would likely die of malnourishment .. however if all you ate was steak, you would likely thrive and be very well nourished.
its easier to eat a steak and a potato and get all you need for nutirtion, and building muscle . then it is to eat chicken and then have to eat a pound of kale and spinach to get your other micro nutrients in.
so chicken is left out of this 12 week diet simply because its not nutritionally efficient in regards to co factors .. yes chicken is plenty protein efficient, but thats not what this diet is about . we want the fats and all the minerals vitamins and co factors efficiently with every meal.

I hope someday, in my lifetime, science proves you wrong .... Until then, I'll do what I'm told I guess.
You can't just let me slide by, can you?
You're such and optimist.
No training today, just lots of rain. I hit Sam's for mostly protein, $100 bucks later:
After talking with GH for a bit, there is one part of this project that I haven't really talked about: How do I feel? Seems like an obvious thing, but so often underestimated. I'm training hard, eating different, and running a small but diverse cycle. Given the changes, how is my mood, pumps in the gym, energy level, digestion, drive, appetite, etc. So I'm going to spend some time trying to figure out how to track those things... and maybe bore you guys with it.
Starting pics - So here's where I am today. Not loving it, but life is a marathon, not a sprint, and I told you guys I'd be blunt and candid.

I start with raw shrimp, versus the pink already cooked shrimp. I mostly thaw it out and throw about a pound in a mixing bowl, drizzle a little bit of olive oil on it and then shake in a bunch of Cajun seasoning. Let it sit for a few minutes and then I cook it in a wok with a lid. It's more like steaming it since it's maybe a little bit frozen when I cook it. I end up with some water at the bottom of the wok. It's pretty fast, maybe 8 minutes.

It was a great day, we took 5 Canada between the 3 of us (limit is 2 each), But I bet we saw 500 flyers today. And because the weather dropped recently we actually had several groups of ducks flying by, but they're out of season. I missed SPECTACULARLY at a group of geese that came in so quick it totally caught me off guard. I had just poured a cup of coffee and they touched down not 15 yards away from me. By the time I fucked around putting my coffee down and getting my gun up, I took a couple of parting shots at them, but by then they were long gone. Still, a great morning.
As for the dog.... 1) He's still learning how to calm down in a blind so I'm hesitant to take him out when I have people with me. 2) we've had so much rain lately that everywhere is flooded and totally muddy, which leads to 3) I just don't know that he could get a 30 pound goose in when he's only 45 pounds and current is moving the way it is. So he stayed home and was bitchy about it. Here's only 1 so he's doing fine.

Cooking steak in bulk, if you’re curious how I do it.
I assume most of us grill steaks, but in the cold winter months I don’t really want to stand out in the cold and it’s hard to keep my grill cold enough in the wind for a good sear. So, how to cook multiple steaks and still keep them tasting great? Stove top pans are ok don’t usually have enough capacity for more than a few steaks. Ovens can get the job done but they usually toughen them up and there’s no sear to keep the steaks juicy.
This isn’t my idea, I stole it from somewhere, but try something called reverse-searing.
- Season steaks liberally with coarse salt on both sides for about 20mins at room temperature
- Pre-heat your oven to 275-300 degrees.
- Grab several THICK sirloins (just buy the Prime, yeah its $8bucks/pound, but do it)
- Stick an oven thermometer in the middle of one and cook in the oven until the internal temp is 130 degrees.
- When the internal temp is ONLY 115(ish) heat up a heavy skillet with a little oil in it, get it HOT, when your steaks hit 130, pull them out of the oven and a few at a time, put them in the searing hot skillet for 2-3 minutes preside, until they develop a nice crusty brown sear on the outside.
Once you get the timing down, you can get 8 perfectly medium steaks with not a whole lot of effort (effort being a relative term I know), in no time.

You have some good size on you Charlie i think you will be pleased with the end result just try not to get injured with all that explosive strength you’re gonna feel. Reason i say this is bc my left shoulder is blown out right now. Will have to alter my training which sucks bc 90% of it is built around some sort of press

Northern Colorado, we hunt mostly in the fields (corn/milo) only Canadians up this way. We do get snows and some speckle bellies out East. Occasionally the mallards will start piling in after the geese too which is always fun. This was my little guys first season. He’s 10. Swinging a 12G is a long way from his Red Ryder or his .22
He can only take so many rounds...we use the edge of the pit to help shoulder his shotgun...means we have to bring them right to the ground before we shoot. He loves it. Doesn’t bitch about being cold or bored either, can’t say that for a lot of grown ass men I’ve hunted with

where I've spent a lot of hours chasing pronghorn with a bow. crawling through cactus, rattle snakes, goat head weeds, and having the occasional wild horse run you down.
totally different in the winter time though. Bow hunting for pronghorn was end of August (100 degree days crawling around in full camo)

Hello all,
Not much to report as of now. My workouts are going great, and the dBol is giving me a fantastic (albeit imaginary) sense of self worth, lol. I do think my focus is up at the gym, mainly because dBol is great at adding 10 pounds to your bench nearly over night.
I'm hampered by the insane crowds at the gym. Its way worse than last year. I'm thankful for all the people who join gyms and never go, because they subsidize MY gym membership. I just wish they'd fail quicker.... which seems like a terrible thing to say.
Meal prep has become a family affair. My youngest seems to love measuring and weighing food, that girl scoops sweet potatoes like nobody's business. I've "meal prepped" for years, but mostly just "250g of chicken and a cup of rice", repeat, repeat, repeat.... At least there's variety in this plan. Turns our variety is expensive.
Question: has anyone ever used a meal-prep service? Just curious.
Terrifying conversation of the week... in chatting with GH he said, "oh, and you should start monitoring your BP and pulse"... uh... what exactly are you worried about dude?!?
I finally got my T3/T4 yesterday. Running T4 for a while, then switching to T3 for the last phase. I'm in sync with my injection cycle, M/W/F. I've been pre-loading on Sundays and it's very easy maintain. I tried backloading all my pins this past weekend... I just can't figure out how to stop oil from dripping out the needle when I put the plunger back in. I know I'm only losing trace amounts.... but its irritating. I remember my first couple of cycles, I was a zealot about EVERYTHING. I was like, "crap, its 10:09, I'm nine minutes late for my shot!". Now I just shoot for getting it roughly on the right days. I'm pinning so little gear currently, its kinda hard to remember some days.
Posing: turns out I have no idea how to submit pictures to a coach... I've been pestering GH with bad photos. I'll post my weekly check-in pics as I take them.
Intra-workout drink: Finally landed on this mix... 40g of dextrose, teaspoon of creatine, 1/2 teaspoon of beta alanine, teaspoon of bcaa powder, packet of Watermelon (or grape) Propel water flavoring. Tastes good, easy to sip.
Random Science: I heard a quote last night, "There are more stars in the universe than all the grains of sand on every beach on the planet". ...whoa.
Best,

The crowds will fall, give them time to remember that exercise is hard work. It’s happening at my gym too, I can handle the ones that have etiquette and don’t leave their weights on, the others I have no patience for.
Love that it’s a family affair, that’s a great plan. What’s your daily caloric intake (sorry if I missed it). Does it rotate?
Great work on everything else and just stepping up to GH’s master plan. Has been fun to watch and drawing inspiration as I’m sure others are as well. Stay strong
