Felt darn good today in the gym. Had an older gentlemen tell me I should probably not use an Elliptical as it will kill my knees in 1 year flat, pretty funny. He also told me I should not run INTERVALS on the treadmill as that is simply not good. I said "Thank You, I'll think about that next time" and moved on!

He meant well. Just mis informed

    Day 25

Food today is mixed and I hit a total of 1,689 kcal. The breakdown ended up being: 32g Carbs, 123g Fat, 133g Protein.

    Mood is TIRED. Constantly yawing!

Workout today was Triceps & Abs, 20min HIIT, and 15min LISS.

Living temporarily having to share a bed with my wife and daughter is kind of taxing to say the least. A 4-year old is moving a LOT in the bed and is keeping me awake and waking me up at 5.30am each morning.

Food today is mixed and I hit a total of 1,699 kcal. The breakdown ended up being: 23g Carbs, 142g Fat, 96g Protein.

Mood is BETTER. Slept in a cabin by myself :-)

Workout today was Back, 20min HIIT, and 15min LISS.

Still fine tuning things at the new gym so weights are a bit off but it is all getting better. Truly friendly gym otherwise. People seems generally respectful and put their weights back ;-)

The progress is great. I am noticing some strength gain in legs and chest but stagnation in the back. I can see changes in my body (Not much but a little).

    Day 29

Food today is mixed and I hit a total of 1,691 kcal. The breakdown ended up being: 57g Carbs, 105g Fat, 140g Protein.

Mood is OK as the weigh-in did not go as planned.

Workout today was 3h in a Playpark & took down a 30ft tree and cut it in small pieces with a chainsaw and manually moved everything to the side.

Days since last cheat is 29

Today I weighed-in at 165.6 which is 0.3lb more than last week. Would say this is a bit odd considering the change I just made but if I look back at other cut's I have made this seems normal. Had a crazy drop last week and this past week I lowered calories and increased cardio quite a bit. Body just need to get used to the new load is my guess!

This week I am changing the following: One day of only protein. All other things stay the same.

In another week or two I should be able to post progress on strength gain/loss in actual numbers. Unfortunately I will have to travel back home to Upstate NY for 10 days to deal with some family issues and while I will try to stay on cut it will be insanely difficult due to what I have to deal with in that place. Time will tell!

    Thanks

    Day 30

Food today is mixed and I hit a total of 1,708 kcal. The breakdown ended up being: 19g Carbs, 134g Fat, 112g Protein.

Mood is SLEEPY as I got up at 5am watching Dora the Explorer!

Workout today was Traps & Shoulders, 20min HIIT, and 15min LISS. Compared to last week Traps & Shoulders increased 3.99%.

Days since last cheat is 30

Really feel in the groove at the moment. Too bad I will get a 10 day interruption starting Monday next week but that is life.

    Day 31

Food today is PROTEIN ONLY and I hit a total of 1,057 kcal.

    Mood is AWESOME.

Workout today was Legs & Abs.

Days since last cheat is 31

Using the Powerlifter calculation shows that I am pretty stalled on loss or gain when it comes to strength at this time. I am seeing some changes in my body. Not anything extreme compared to some guys on here but I am feeling good about it.

Todays PROTEIN ONLY day went by without a hitch. I usually do this starting the night before and count 24h from there which makes the process a lot easier as you get to go to bed on a full stomach and most of the PROTEIN ONLY part happens when you are asleep.

    Day 32

Food today is MIXED and I hit a total of 1,700 kcal with a breakdown of 36g Carbs, 89g Fat, and 185g Protein.

    Mood is AWESOME.

Workout today was Triceps & Biceps, 20min HIIT, and 15min LISS

Well things are moving forward. Only 3 days to weigh-in and we shall see how that goes. Considering 3.8lb loss 2 weeks ago and a 0.2lb gain last week I have no clue what this will do.

    Day 34

Food today is MIXED and I hit a total of 1,958 kcal with a breakdown of 78g Carbs, 145g Fat, and 92g Protein.

    Mood is GREAT.

Workout today was Chest & Abs

Days since last cheat is 34

Went about 248 kcal over target due to a business lunch which also raised the carbs a bit but I am not going to count this as a cheat as I have that planned for tomorrow. It will be a clean cheat day if that makes sense but it is time for one regardless.

Honestly, not really. I am starting to think my expectations are a bit unrealistic. We shall see, when the scan say 10-12% I will be (maybe) happy and move on to the next part of this journey.

    Day 35

Food today is CHEAT DAY and I hit a total of 1,958 kcal with a breakdown of 78g Carbs, 145g Fat, and 92g Protein.

    Mood is GREAT.

    Workout today was None

Days since last cheat is 0 and record is 34 days

I weighed in at 165.1 which is -0.5lb compared to last week. Not quite the change one had hoped for but at least it is less ;-) I will just keep grinding for another two weigh-ins and should there still be this crappy I will change something.

Updated first post with the new week that is starting tomorrow.

I was hoping you don't mind me asking this question in your log. I recall a vid link on professor or doc discussing impact of sugar on leptin u had posted a few months back. I was watching a Facebook ad on the Venus factor diet. And author mentions leptin is the secret hormone for weight loss. As I recall from the vids you posted, leptin increases with high glycemic foods. Sooooo seems ppl need to decrease carb intake to decrease insulin and leptin. Recall many type ii diabetes who are insulin resistant also may have leptin resistance. Correct?

If accurate, I am rethinking the amount of carbs and fat into macro split. Higher fat, less carbs for cutting.

Do not mind at all. Perhaps I need to increase the fat more, I am not sure tbh but I will let it be for another couple of weeks and if it is still stuck I will change something. I am generally around 20-40g of Net Carbs/day so I am quite low but maybe more fat is the trick. I do not I am working my butt of in the gym at this time so effort is not a question at this time Will be traveling for a couple of days but think I can pull this off anyow.

Thanks for following and caring GGR.

Would love to see the types of foods you are eating and when.. I am not really a firm believer of Calories in Calories out, IMHO, your body responds to foods differently... When you consume something your body doesn't agree with, systemic inflammation occurs, plays havoc on your body keeping you from your goals..

Mind posting a "normal" daily food intake?

I think his Carb intake is too little tbh, fat intake is good, protein intake is too little also.. Too cut, you need AT LEAST 1.5g per lb of lean body mass...

Less carbs doesn't necessarily mean better things will happen.. I haven't seen the foods you're eating so I cannot advise you that they are disagreeing with your body..

The types of Carbs and Fats consumed and when is a huge factor.

Also, doing Cardio at least 5 days a week for 45 minutes in the morning BEFORE you eat anything is going to make you successful. Yes this is tough however necessary to succeed..

Man, there must be something wrong if you are only losing .5lb a week on those calories.
Your cals might be too low too soon and your metabolism is shutting down.

It all should be pretty exact since I did a DEXA Scan. NOTE: I am not losing 0.5lb/week as I lost 3.8lb two weeks ago.

From what I can see below, the day consisted of Eggs, mayonnaise, Caviar, Kielbasa, and some sort of meaty pizza pastry with the Arla brand..??

My biggest concern would be that there isn't enough Nutrition in your meals, especially Fiber as you can see there was 0 Grams consumed that day..

I understand that you are losing weight however at some point your body is going to get really angry at you as there isnt enough Vitamins and Minerals being consumed by real food.. If the below is something that you eat on a daily basis I would be concerned...

Workout today was Back with 10min HIIT. Have a slight cold so HIIT was heavy.

Days since last cheat is 5 and record is 34 days

It is a bit tougher to stay on point at my mother-in-law but I think I am doing really well considering the circumstances.

    Day 41

Food today is MIXED and I hit a total of 2,232 kcal with a breakdown of 34g Carbs, 148g Fat, and 174g Protein.

    Mood is GOOD.

Workout today was Chest & Abs.

Days since last cheat is 6 and record is 34 days

Doing this cut in the middle of a major life change might not have been the smartest and it will take longer to complete than initially indicated but that is the way it goes.

    Day 42

    Food today is CHEAT DAY.

    Mood is GREAT.

    Workout today was RESTING DAY.

Days since last cheat is 0 and record is 34 days

Well, another cheat day only 6 days from the last one. Not happy about it but the way we are living at the moment each day not on cheat is a success.

    Day 44

Food today is MIXED and the total is 1,760kcal, 56g carbs, 71g fat, 218g protein.

    Mood is VERY GOOD.

Workout today was Legs and 15min LISS.

Days since last cheat is 1 and record is 34 days

Two straight days of cheat and “finally” the family obligations are done with. Sometimes it is just the way it goes and it is nothing that will hold me back. Just keep grinding and the results will come.

    Day 45

Food today is PROTEIN ONLY DAY and the total is 1,260kcal, 0g carbs, 0g fat, 252g protein.

    Mood is VERY GOOD.

Workout today was Triceps & Biceps.

Days since last cheat is 2 and record is 34 days

The cardio part is currently suffering as my time is limited in this location. Should be back on schedule starting next week. Basically, I will be 2 weeks behind schedule but as my main move seems to drag out a bit I might be able to extend this cut with a few weeks if I am lucky.

Weigh-in is on Sunday, the day after an 18h plane ride. Lets see if that have a negative impact.

    Mood is GOOD.

    Workout today was CHEST.

Suppose to start Clenbuterol on Sunday but will delay that with at least two weeks. Simply not at a body fat level yet where it makes sense.
