Obviously Whey isn't some magic supplement, it's a supplement, you first need a high protien diet. If you drank just protien shakes and didn't work hard on your diet than it probably wouldn't work. I can't immagine how hard it would be to get in my daily protien if I didn't have my PWO shake.
I'm not near as smart as most people on this board but I can say that I feel like it has worked for me. And if it is just a placebo affect, than so be it, because all I want are results no matter how I get them. Besides taking it helps keep me motivated, it helps me know that I am doing something more than the average joe.

I don't understand why some of you people are getting so upset @ the guy who started this thread. You think whey protein is magic or something? some of you guys are acting like whey addicts. telling him he should die because he THINKS that MAYBE whey might not be the best protein? that's extremely immature and ignorant. perhaps casein is better than whey! perhaps egg white protein is better than casein. there are advantages to having a slow-digesting protein such as casein, there are advantages to a fast-digesting protein such as whey, and there are advantages to a 100% biologically available protein such as egg whites.
personally, I just ordered 2 more tubs of BSN's Syntha-6 which I think is awesome because it has a mixture of different proteins.

yes, I ran out of protein last week (just got it shipped in today) but for the last week I have been eating chicken, steak, and tuna all day long and I feel ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE being off of the whey protein - except for a bigger hole in my pocket because meat can get expensive! Protein powders are exactly what they say on the tubs "dietary supplements".
