Probably is. Will make your stomach more acidic. You shouldn't be taking an more than about 1g at once. If you still have issues then take with some food.
At most in a typical day I'd recommend you cap at 2g.

I've been taking 6gms of vitamin c for a few years now.
The acid will give you some pain in your stomach yes. It will ALSO make you fart heaps of gas which usually doesn't smell like farts, vitamin c farts don't really smell lol which is good.
My stomach got use to it now but I use to just dissolve baking soda in water and sip it with the vitamin c to prevent it. Figure around 1 tsp for every 1000mg vit C that you take.
It'll turn it to sodium ascorbate in your stomach and neutralize. You can also pop a tums everytime you pop vitamin c, does the same thing but makes calcium ascorbate instead.
And what you ALSO can do is just buy the sodium ascorbate form of it which won't fvck with your stomach at all, a tad more expensive but buy it if you need it.Last edited by Bojangles69; 04-23-2009 at 08:01 PM.

A lot of people aren't aware of how beneficial high doses of it are.
If you research collagen and how its basically 70% of your joints and skin, then you realize vitamin c helps the body produce collagen, you'll understand why your joints can handle a lot more stress and why your skin also looks healthier.
Plus yeh, I seriously don't remember the last time I got sick.
