ran a mile in 8 minutes
im 24 years old 5'9" 205 lbs. this was the first time i actually tested myself at running a mile in about 7 years. i ran cross country for my junior year in high school and was also a sprinter for 5 years. after high school i quit track and field and began to weight train and found a love for bodybuilding.
not really a weight training question but has anyone else ever test themselves at how fast they can run a mile? how fast did you get? im hoping to get down to 7 minutes in a couple months. i probably could have pushed myself a little harder then i did.

Anything in the 4:xx ranger is pretty good.

Running a 5 minute mile is phenomenal... very impressive. I figured not too many would be able to do it on a weightlifing forum... Most that can are really lean and different type of conditioner. My best time in Army two mile timed run was an 11:36, I only weighed 165 back then. I would usually average around high 11's low 12's... Now at 220-230ish, I average around 9 minute miles for 4-5miles. I don't run a 1 miler speed run, but I do know how fast a 5 minute mile is. pretty good for those who can regardless of how young you are.
