Accused of steroid use at work.

How would you handle this?

As some of you know I started a new job last week and I work in a corporate environment. Thursday afternoon as I'm walking to my office, I pass the elevator and a guy steps out. As he passes me he says "What's up juice bag."

I was in shock. I stood there, and the only thing that could come out of my mouth is "That was really f ucking nice. I can't believe you just said that." By then he turned the corner and was gone. I kept walking and went back to my office and debated whether to go to his office and say something to him about it. I decided not to. I thought my comment would give him a clue what he said was inappropriate.

Friday morning my manager called me to his office for a meeting. As I'm about to walk in, I look up and I see the guy. He says to me "Good morning juicey" I said back What did you just say? He repeats it. "Good morning juicey." I said back to him VERY SERIOUSLY "Do not EVER... say something like that to me again." and then walked into my manager's office. When I sat down my manager asked me what did he just say to you. I told him nothing. He asked me again 3 times what did he say. I told him nothing, do not worry about it. I'll handle it.

Friday afternoon as I was getting lunch in the cafeteria I see the same guy sitting at a table with some other guys. As I'm stacking a load of food on my tray. One of the guys with him walks up to me, thinks he's being funny and says. "So, how much do steroids go for these days." I said back, "I don't know. But if you say something like that to me again I will report you to HR."

What do you guys think? Monday should I talk to my manager about this? Should I go to HR? I feel by reporting it to my manager and HR it's going to put a spotlight on me and on the subject of me using steroids . I just started this job and I feel being new, I shouldn't make waves but these f uckers are disrespecting me with their comments and I don't like it.

I would advise him how serous those allegations are. Then I would tell him next time he makes a comment to you. That you’re going to report him to H.R and sign a formal complaint. Also if it comes to this and you have to report him. Tell H.R that you over heard him taking about smoking weed. There chances are he has some kind of rec drug in his system.

Keep this in the back of your head. You were just hired for this job. They did not drug test you pyre to tacking the position. There for they cannot single you out and test you for juice. They will have to test the whole office and cannot by law single you out.

Get your hands on a cleanser just to have incase.

man that's a tough call....i guess i would try and talk to that "guy" one on one first to see how that goes. if you do go to the HR it's definitely going to be a spot light over you. more people might start to talk trash.

i would have a serious talk with them...its not right for them to make accusations and remarks like that in a business environment especially when they dont know u to well...i would let them know that they shouldnt say things like that in a public place like that were people will here them say that, then rumors will spread...explain that u dont do them or have a desire to, even if u do juice it will just get them off ur back...that shit pisses me off...when im in a public place and a loudmouth says some shit like that....then people turn there heads and look. and the shit talkin starts....bottom line they're harassing u, as dumb as it sounds...and it makes the work place hostile...

something like "so does your wife take it in the ass?"
then say that if they are going to ask stupid questions, this is what will happen.

start rumors about him and the other guy saying you say them looking a child pornagraphy, then get their email address and sign themup to numerous sites. Also, getting their mailing address and having videos and such mailed to them at the office and home would be a nice touch.

Put like pictures in their desk drawer (Way in the back hidden of course) of children from 3rd worlds who are up for adoption or pictures of children and babies along with a bottle of K-Y Jelly. Also, and pair or little boys and girls panties would be a nice touch to leave somewhere where others might see it at their cubical.

This would look suspicence to me, like your trying to direct attention from you or your guilty of something yourself. If they don't test for drugs then like gxxr said, they can't single him out.

I wouldn't go down to his level, I would express to him in professional manner, that you don't appreciate his comments and if they persist you will write a formal complaint of his harassment to HR. Document everything and don't give him fuel against you. Always be professional, your more likely be sided with if this problem escalates.

When everything blows over, than you can hurt him, with a baseball bat.

Assholes everywhere.. I used to be combative and try n outdo them, and completely rule with an iron fist.. but it got exausting.. and there wasnt' much energy left over for the things i love..it consumed too much of me.

so i changed my ways.. i'm basically Not critizing.. not complaining at all.. and dont really listen to other peoples complaints, i just leave.. i see them as traps to talk shit about people or things.. also i try to keep insults to a minimum hard to do... try my best to show appreciation.. and do the litting things, and try to pretend to actually show interest in other peoples lives as exausting as that can get.. i now can compleltely slack off and do a shitty job, without get critizied for it.. which is awesome cause it leaves me energy for Overtime.. and ontop of that i have lots of energy still left over for when i get home. This is a pretty big community.. and u're dealing with people who prolly wish they were on roids or are, and suck at diet and training.. n prolly spend way too much of their time on the computer.
