as though acid is seeping through your pours, trying to rupture right through your skin. The pain is so intense now it has created a seemingly impenetrable barrier. A wall so tall no one can scale it. A pain so deep you will surely drown.....but just one more rep.
This is the type of pain only a bar-bending set can bring.
A long standing saying amongst bodybuilders is "PAIN IS WEAKNESS LEAVING YOUR BODY" You must not only understand this statement but you yourself must transcend it.
That is why your lower your body again, ass to the floor. You embrace the pain and accept it for what it is, simply a mental barrier, nothing more.
You will indeed climb, you will not drown, you are not weak and you will indeed do .....just one more rep.
pain is the limiting factor here. dont be a pus and keep going till you cant go no more, anyone doing dc can relate to this one.....just awesome

    I Notice...
Sometimes I feel like I am the guy at the end of a row of dominos. You know the one that knocks down that first piece and causes a chain reaction. Almost as though I am the guy who makes things happen. To understand what I'm referring to you have to look a little harder.....to notice.....
When he's walking towards you with his girlfriend, he quickly claspers her hand a little tighter, I notice.
When your in the supermarket buying chicken and egg whites, they look into your basket, only quickly to discard that bag of chips they consequently have now choose not to buy, I notice.
When I pass them on the street and they think I don't hear them whisper "juice pig", I notice.
When their done on the machine they know you've been waiting for and they pull the pin out so you don't see what weight they had been using, I notice.
When my bro's and I go out to eat and the overweight ignorant waitress makes comments to her co-workers about what we order, I notice.
When I'm working out beside some random "manly man" and he sucks in his gut and sticks out his chest just a little, I notice.

You know what the truth is, I'm okay with it all. I don't do it for anyone else, I do it for me, but I still notice.

The spoon hits the bottom of your cup with a thud.
At this time in the morning, 530am, it could have been mistaken for a gun
    shot. It cuts the silence.
It seems to echo again, but only in your mind, for there is no one else
    around to hear it.
You stand alone in you kitchen, but one single stove light illuminates
your solitude.Your mind has now reached an impasse, almost as if in battle with ones self. The bad guys remind you of when a somber sleep was so much more appealing.
Your head nods forward and your eyes seems to fixate on the veins in your
forearm now popping out of your skin, its a suitable reminder from the good guys.
This is why the blood runs through you.
Your here for one purpose, so stop *****footing around and get to it.
Each moment of contemplation is better spent as a single step on the
    treadmill during AM cardio.
This is a journey that self pity has no place in.
With a firm hand, you tightly grasp the spoon and move it clockwise. The
water seems to engulf the BCAA's, as they dissolve they take with them
    your moment of weakness.

    Humble beginnings.
We often find ourselves caught up in a moment of reflection. A form of deliberation within the confides of ones mind, A comparison of such.
Almost as if standing in the middle of two mirrors, examing endless reflections of ones self. Only this time, each image is different. The harder you stare the more prominent the figures become. A likeness of yourself from years long since repressed. Caught up in a reverie of sorts... you see visions of the beginning of your journey. You recall your first gut wrenching moments in the weight room.
Those first few emotions of unbridled enthusiasm and a reckless spirit have led you down this road. At that time, you would have never realized you had just chosen a new life path.
You've matured, day after day, week after week, growing into the person you are today. Using each moment to gain, and to build upon years past. Every great monument starts with a sturdy foundation; we must remember where ours came from. Each year we are harder on ourselves and our goals are more specific, that’s the only way to survive in this game.

I will never allow myself to be satisfied and I will never forget who I was, because that alone will determine who I become.

When you think you have nothing left.

That last rep, you know the one.
Long after your muscles have failed, your last drop of that "commercial" energy drink is gone, your tired, out of breath and about to rack the weight.
You need a friendly reminder, your about to compromise your workout. So don't tap out just yet. You still have one more weapon in your arsenal. The most powerful of all muscles... the mind.
'Bino looks me dead in the eyes and he makes a single statement...YOU WILL DO ONE MORE REP YOU F*CKING *****. '
The words emanate out of his mouth straight to my mind, as my adrenaline surges my eyes re-focus, and become emotionless. Glaring beyond the walls of the gym, staring straight into the face of every bad memory i have ever had. Bino stared right back knowing full well he had just poured 10 tonnes of gasoline onto a dull spark.
'wait a minute did he just call me a f*cking *****?'....

That day I wouldn't do one more rep.... instead, I did two.

    Those sad, weak 'Normal people'.

Today I sat through a barrage of torture and punishment.
I'm still sitting here shaking my head at myself with utter disgust, having allowed myself
to accept or even condone this behavior. No this didn't take place in a boxing ring, a battle field
or even a lecture hall. The setting was in the confides of my lunchroom at work, the characters were all ignorant and the plot was a lot like running your nails down a chalk board.
I found myself thrust square in the middle of a conversation about working out, the killer is who was taking part in the conversation.......'normal people'.
I sat through comments such as " I never have time to workout " ... "Yo man you don't even understand how much I eat, and I just don't get bigger "..."Its hard for me to loose weight because of my metabolism"..." I don't know why you do that to yourself, food is there to be enjoyed ."
I tried to repeat to myself that ignorance is indeed bliss. Truth be told I wanted to blast everyone of them, for each one of there comments I had ten waiting in the wings to unload. "Your weak, hell even borderline pathetic, how can you even live with yourselves? When you look in the mirror are you truly satisfied? I mean have you reached the pinnacle of success in your mind, for that matter how do you judge success? "
Then I take a step back, I realize I need to see the bigger picture here, a calm comes over me, I'm actually thank-full for these 'normal people'. For it is because of these people I strive to be exceptional.
This is not the life for everyone, its full of strife and struggle, there are few and far between that will actually survive, for the rest.......your relegated to a 'normal life'.

Put your headphones on and crank the volume, pull your hat down low and become the most ruthless, volatile monster you can fathom.
Today you have no friends to shoot the sh*t with, there are no hot bodies to distract you and you sure as f*ck don't care if your shirt matches your pants.
Your unstoppable, king of the world in fact!
The animal inside you has taken over, you will add ten extra pounds to the bar, you will do an extra drop set and you will damn well go to failure.

    My mirror is worn out.

Have you ever stared at something so long and intensely it made your eyes hurt? I do it daily. If a mirror truly could be worn out I would have accomplished it long ago. I use the mirror as one of my most valuable assets. For it doesn't lie to me. In fact it gives me insight into some hard truths, for the person starring into it, happens to be my biggest critique. Every lagging body part, every weakness sticks out like a sore thumb. I see it all. In front of that mirror they can't hide in the shadows behind false praise and empty compliments from people who just don't get it. There is no hiding from these eyes.
That mirror forces me to get stronger and train harder. Some use the scale as there motivation but not us, we have progressed beyond that. I don't want to weigh 260lbs, with a huge chest and small lats or even ****** quads , yet lagging hams. I want to be a perfect specimen, from every angle.

Not to mention I can't wait until I have to buy a wider mirror.

It Makes It All Worth It. (volume 1)

People like us, we don't do it for praise, admiration or even a trophy. We do it to become our very own hero's. Although needless to say events happen day to day that validate what it is we do. Sure they seem like small things, but each one helps to provide us with the mental strength to push on through the grind.
How about when the new guy in your gym struts in like he owns the place. Meanwhile your ass deep in the middle of a heavy set leg press, while he scopes out the scene assuming he is surely the biggest guy in the place. Once he has validated his insecurities with a second quick peak around he then feels brave enough to remove his baggy shirt and present his 150 lbs body to his adoring fans. At this moment you're just standing up and heading for the fountain, his eyes fixate on you, they follow your every step while you don't even acknowledge his existence. Faster than he can pick his jaw up off the ground, he begins scrambling, reaching to put his security blanket back on. He wraps his shirt around him as if it were a bullet proof vest.
All you did was get up to replenish your water, sure you didn't look at him but you knew damn well what he was thinking. Now thats power. You just made a lasting impression on him, not only will he keep his shirt on for the rest of his workout, but he will go home with a better understanding of who's house it is. Now that is power.
All that and you just wanted a drink.

I looked into his eyes. He was a stranger to me but I knew his pain. The hurt inside him had been there so long it had spoiled rotten. It wasn't like cottage cheese gone bad, it couldn't just be thrown out. It would take time and effort, maybe even years to rid himself of this heavy burden. Its just to bad he doesn't have the the equipment he will need to make the change; knowledge, drive and a healthy dose of courage. For as sure as I could see his pain his weakness was just as apparent.
I saw him in passing in the mall across the street from where I work. His heavy set 300 plus pound body, holding at about 35% body fat barely squeezed into one of the chairs.
I don't believe in showing people pity, so I'm not sure what emotion I felt for him that day. Maybe it was the PCT talking. I suppose I knew we lived in opposing worlds and I almost felt regret for the life choices he had made. He didn't share anything with me except for the fact he too has a person. I felt the urge to walk over to him and announce I was here to change his life. Regrettably those choices had long since been decided and I was not a saviour. I'm just a body builder.
Its unfortunate for him, that he wasn't introduced to this lifestyle, like I was. His life path hasn't been as fortunate as mine.
In the end we all make choices, often not having the foresight to realize there lasting consequences. That day I turned my emotions into those of thanks. Thanks to those who introduced me to this life. Some have it, some don't, once your introduction is over, your a one man army, so chose wisely....

    When I was in grade 1 my teacher sent me home with a sticker . It read A FOR EFFORT. Needless to say I was proud. I now realize more then ever that everything we do is relative. Over the years my idea of EFFORT has transformed into this invincible driving force. I wonder what my teacher would say about some of my recent EFFORTS;
Effort is going to the gym with 4 stitches in your hand, only to have blood dripping onto your face during dumbbell press.
Effort is going back to the gym for your second cardio session, third time total for the day.
Effort is forcing down that second can of dry tuna in one sitting.
Effort is explaining to your girl why even though its your anniversary, dinner will have to wait because its also back day.
Effort is set #4, rep #20 ......during squats.
Effort is Tying one end of a rope to a dumbbell and the other to your wrist because your hand is broken in 3 places and you can't miss BI day.
Effort is waking up in the middle of the night and forcing down another shake.

Needless to say I don't get stickers anymore, and my idea of EFFORT has been modified, but I guarantee you I don't leave that gym until I'm proud of what I have done.

    People with our stature or physique tend to get asked a lot of questions, and rightfully so. Deep down 'they' would love to look like us or even just to see through our eyes for a day. Don't get me wrong knowledge is key, so therefore questions are an awesome way to learn. Its just sometimes I shake my head at some of the questions and ideas people have the "balls" to ask. Here's a quick list of a couple personal favorites;

Q: Are you still on protein?
A: A glare filled with confusion and sorrow. I almost felt bad.

Q: Do you think I'm getting enough protein with a 6 pack of McNuggets?
A: If your eating McDonalds as a protein source you have much bigger issues.

Q: Do you think I need to tone?
A: Go Ask Carlos, ........whats toning again?

    Q: I workout 2 hours a day, 7 days a week, why am I not growing?
A: I didn't know working out made you grow? I thought food did, my bad.

Q: Is there a way to gain a lot of muscle really quick, without having to do much?
A: You sound really dedicated, please don't ever talk to me again.

Q: How many reps should I do to get cut?
A: Keep going until you die.

Q: A lot of people tell me to take protein, but won't that make me gain weight?
A: Who started this damn rumor?

All I know is that I started my body building journey through a book. I read and I learned. If your not willing to put in the time, don't bother bombarding us with your questions.

Sometimes we feel down. We feel as though it’s hard to stand up on our own two feet. Hard to keep going, moving forward at least. Things have seemed to become monotonous. The discord and struggle of everyday life, takes a harsh toll on my mind. My inner thoughts are sent into the depths of my being, the place you never wanted to know existed. Trapped in a prison of depression, with hurt as your floor and twisted memories for bars . The kind you can't break, no matter how hard you try.
You begin to realize no matter how physically strong you are it won't help you here. You need strength of mind and an unforgiving courage to unlock these gates.
Often desperation tends to supercede our sense of caution and calm. We lash out in an attempt to battle our adversary. Whether it be a person or our situation, our mind set recognizes it as the enemy and uses anything it can as a defense mechanism. In doing so often moving backward, by making unproductive steps. If we could only use our mind to curtail and harness these emotions, we could better understand our present circumstances. This understanding would then be used to part the seas of despair and open up a world of solutions and promise.
We must approach each goal with a calm head. Use your minds to overcome the stages you may see as barriers.
Stay on the right path, don't get to crazy. If your plan is to gain 5 pounds of muscle, then understand how to do it, and go after it. If your plan is to lose 5 pounds of fat then understand how do to it and go after it. Let the frustration and depression that this game brings float away in a gust of wind called a plan. It is a plan that will take you to the next level. Set your goals and then keep moving.
Whether it be in bodybuilding or not.

Your alarm rings with a piercing buzz. Its debateable what hurts more the simple thought of getting out of bed, or the agonizing pain running through your over worked joints and sore muscles.
Your hand slamming the alarm clock doesn't even provide a moment of relief. The buzzing fades only to open up the flood gates of your mind. Thoughts of all the tasks you still have to complete are the first to overwhelm you....morning cardio, preparing 7 meals, taking all your supps, preparing your BCAA shakes......ohhh your elbow is killing you, maybe I should pop some pain meds.....you feel like screaming, one thing at a f**king time.
Your mind is acting like a stationary bike, it's moving like crazy but never actually going anywhere. The worst part is it happens all the time. You know deep down you must stay on path. So you hang a sign next to your posing mirror, it reads " WHAT DO YOU WANT?"
Its visible from your bed, and each morning its a suitable reminder of WHAT IT IS YOU WANT !
Just wanted to put them all in one post for you guys!! ENJOY
