O MY ****ING GOSH. YOU GUYS ARE GONNA LOVE THIS
Steve,
I'm afraid there's something wrong with me:
I keep a diary of my exercises so I can track my progress...even If I eat good and I have plenty of rest between workouts (twice a week) and when I train I really make sure I work hard, this is my pathetic results :
This August I could do (biceps curling, dumbells) 3 sets per 9 repetitions with 11Kg (per arm)
Now that 4 months passed (and I never stopped training) I only increased one single kilo! I can do 3 x 9 with 12 Kilos !
That's only one kilo in 4 months!
Do you think that I should take proteins every day ? So far I've beent taking them only the day I workout and the day after (I train twice a week).
steve

Horazio,
No doubt muscle and strength increases take time. If they didn’t many of the professional athletes here in the U.S. wouldn’t have to take steroids ! Lifting a certain weight (or the same weight) will only increase your strength so much. After that, you need to try lifting heavier weight. But how do you do that if you don’t have the strength? One way of doing this is to cheat just a little bit when trying to lift the heavier weight. When I was curling 80 pound dumbbells the only way for me to make them feel lighter was to gain more strength and that meant moving up to the 85 or 90 pound dumbbells. To do this I would use lifting straps that helped me hold on to the additional weight and then I would cheat just a little bit to get the weight up. As my strength increased the 90’s became easier to lift and my form improved. Now the 80’s are light and I have to move up to make the 90’s feel easier! You can use this cheat method with most exercises. No, you don’t have to take in extra protein every day. Even an average diet supplies enough protein for muscle maintenance and growth. ~Steve
