I think there is a God.
Although you know it is kinda discouraging when you think about it...
I live life the way i want, i dont really live by the beliefs of others. Those people are sheeps.
Especially the ones who believe the world was created in 7 days and is only 5000 years old.
I mean honestly, science doesnt lie.

I think my avatar would make my answer pretty predictable but I'm gonna say absolutely not.
But if there is he's a sick, twisted, uncaring SOB.
I RESPECT a person's right to believe anything they wish, I just can't always understand what they're thinking.

I believe. God has kept me from destroying myself in so many ways.
Although it's hard to make a case for something that no one has ever seen in real life, we all know he's there. And he looks out for all of us.
I'm sure that all of us has said "thank you god" at one point or another.

When I encounter something I don't understand I don't think "Well I don't have an explanation, therefore a magic man in the sky must have done it!" Nor do I think anyone is watching me, controlling me, looking out for me, or going to judge me.

i think that is more of a metaphore....which leads to faith...its all your interpretation...
I agree that science doesn't lie...but science isn't everyone's language....as relegion isn't everyones language either...though they both offer explanation to the universe and our existance....just depends how you want to view it....or simply how it makes sense to you...Last edited by rhino1; 11-21-2008 at 01:33 AM.

Agreed. I believe the following...
- there is only one God
- all major religions come from God
- the world is one country and mankind are its citizens
- men and women are equal
- all prejudices must be overcome
- science and religion are in harmony
- economic problems are linked to our spiritual problems

I believe there's a higher entity. But the concept of god is abused and twisted by alot of religions.

Actually not at all.
The upside down cross is more an "anti-symbol" than anything. It's saying f*ck this cross and what it represents.
Satanism itself also has nothing to do with the devil. Look it up on wikepedia for a quick rundown of what it's about.
I think believing in the devil is even sillier than believing in God.

That's one perspective...I'm intrigued to know how you account for the existence of this world, the phenomena that occur, the human body and how it was designed so perfectly...do you believe all these things just HAPPEN? Don't they need someone or something to create and control them?

[edit] Satanism and heavy metal music
Heavy metal music has often been connected with Satanism, in part to the lyrical content of several bands and their frequent use of imagery often tied to left hand path beliefs (such as the upside-down pentagram). As a result, members of several bands, including Slayer and Black Sabbath, have faced accusations of being true Satanists. More often than not, such musicians say they do not believe in legitimate Satanic ideology and often profess to being atheists or, in some instances, followers of right hand path religions, while using that which appears to be "Satanic" for entertainment purposes and shock value.[10]
However, while some debate their authenticity, other artists have professed Satanic beliefs. Glen Benton, vocalist and bassist of the band Deicide, once openly claimed to be a practitioner of Theistic Satanism, and has spoken publicly on numerous occasions[11] to profess staunch anti-Christian sentiment. Norwegian black metal artists, such as those from bands Gorgoroth and Mayhem, have also defended modern Satanic ideology.[12] Numerous burnings of churches that covered parts of Norway in the early 1990s were also attributed to youths involved in the black metal movement, who claimed to have theistic Satanic beliefs and strong "anti-LaVeyan" attitudes.[13] However, the legitimacy of such actions as Satanic endeavors, rather than simply rebellious actions done for publicity, is something that has been doubted by even those who contribute to the genre.[14]

Not at all actually.
It's using "Satan" as a symbol, the anti-Christ, therefore the anti-Christian.
Satanism is all about man, how he is just another animal with urges and desires, and how we should seek to fulfill those desires rather than shun them and feel ashamed of our natural instincts like Christianity teaches.
It's very centered around power and feeling powerful, which makes me think more people on here would be down with a good 80% of what Satanism is about than they would ever think.

here is another interesting perspective....humans are the only animals that govern theirselves by morals....no other animal does this...they only do what is instinct and pleasurable to theirselves
BUT we are intellectually SUPERIOR....and animals and everything else was put on earth as sustinance...nothing more

No, they learn by trial and error, and by habit.
If every time you ring a bell and your dog comes to eat food, your dog will learn by habit that whenever a bell is rung, it is time to eat. But if you suddenly start ringing the bell but take away the food, it will slowly realise by habit that ringing the bell does not mean food is present, and won't bother going.
Animals can NOT rationalise. Their behaviour is purely based on habit, trial and error, and by instinct.
