my son has been real excited about his gains this past year, so he wants me to come to the gym with him. My daughter is real excited about this harley ride i've been promising her, and she wants to stop by the Mangey Moose for breakfast first. Since the plane is wheels down in Sacto at 7:30pm, i won't get home til 10. I'm thinking i might just down a beer and hit the sack before i do any of that! I'll be pooped!

went to a biker rally in Isleton one time, dubbed the "crawdad fest" and had a huge bowl of crawdads. but damn! i could sit there all day eating them fukkers and not get full. like eating sun flower seeds. I'd rather eat some jumbo prawns right out of the gulf here in the middle east! dam that's some goood eating!

two and a wake up!
moved over to the green village. there was dancing and a DJ last night. It was such a relief to actually see guys dancing with the ladies, instead of just guys dancing with guys as is the norm with the loco locals.
one reason is that afghans are not allowed in Green Village after 5pm, so only expats and Nepalese. =)

One day you'll have to tell me the story about your being a rodeo clown?
-
01-27-2012, 09:00 AM #538
Sure not a big deal. Couple of years ago I decided I wanted to try to be a rodeo clown. Sure enough there are actually schools that you can go and learn. I signed up for a school called sankey. They teach all over the country. I went to Ohio since I wanted to ride my bike there. Let me tell you it was a blast. Being a city guy I really have never been around livestock. After some brief drills with a wheel barrel you go in the ring. When the riders get thrown off you have to get the bulls attention and get him away from the rider. Tell you about an adrenaline rush. Those bulls come out of the gate bucking and pissed off. Your brain is telling you to run like hell. Anyway it was a great experience, I did get hit in the chest with the horns but they give you body armor so it was not too bad. I definitely recommend you try this. I did it just 4 months ago at 46 so there is no age barrier.

it's pretty simple really. obviously, you must tuck when jumping. make sure you hit facing the back of the boat, and your back makes initial impact. then expect one wild tumble for about 1 second. you WILL get dizzy, so make sure you have a chest full of air also.
First time i did this, i was lit. something went wrong. i didn't tuck tight enough. wrenched my neck. but i did it about 12 more times after that on that same day. all my buddies are too pvssy to do it. one of the ladies always screams in fear when i do it. you'd think she'd be over it by now?
btw.... i'm running out of days to count
one day and a wake up!!

-
01-28-2012, 01:03 AM #553
About 10miles from the beach I guess...I lived in Colombo, the capital city. I never had time to go to the beach...I was one of those high schoolers who was involved in everything under the dun, so I was constantly busy...I love the ocean though.
-
01-28-2012, 01:12 AM #554
^ that's a shame.... warm water like that as well.
I grew up by the coast. wasn't a great swimmer. but i was a certified diver when i was 15 (NAUI). one requirement is i had to be able to swim a mile. tread water for 15 minutes, and float without moving for 15 minutes.
I absolutely LOVE the water!! and when ocean water is warm!!! helll ya
