I would only come off that way to someone that hadn't been reading that thread and the thread started by Shol'va. If read in it's entirity, then I think you would have been more comfortable with the thought process. The whole point of the thread was in response to a few that said we should kill 1.6billion muslims. So I turned it around, and said, well, if we are going to kill muslims, then let's make a list and see who else whe should get rid of. The reality is that if enough people participate, the list would include everybody. So unless we want to wipe everybody out, we need to come up with a better solution. Make sense?

unfortunately, you focused on a single word.... "black" and asked why I didnt use the slang for that?

However, I didn't use the slang for "gays" either. I refrained from dropping the "F" bomb, because I knew you wouldn't appreciate it. Remember? we talked about that two weeks ago?

I also refrained from using the slang for Muslims. I did this because there was enough hatred floating around, I didn't think it appropriate to use a term like R**H*** at that point in time.

DSM, by now I'm hoping you've noticed I really don't go after people. Not that I'm keeping score, but you've come at me on several occassions, and I've pretty much always let it go.

So.... I hope we're good now??

I understand where the thread came from. What i found shocking and hypocritical was when you didn't use the N slur for blacks people. When i called you out on it you said and i quote "black people are still sensitive to that word." Pretty much how i interpreted that was; I can call a Chinese guy a C**** and its cool but i can't call a black guy a N word. What i find even more interesting was that a VET hasn't made you edit your original post (i saw multi VETs and HOF'ers reading the thread). Not because of what it points out but because of the wording you used. We have a "no flame" policy and you said some pretty offensive words. You said you respected me enough not to say f** so then why didn't you respect our Chinese members enough not to say c**** ? or even use the abbreviation like i am ?

What the VET's and HOFer's displayed by not making you edit the post is that these words are OK to use. That being said i was going to plaster your thread with the N word for shock value to prove my point but i didn't want to cross that line myself. The thread had been reported and it still wasn't taken care of. Pretty sad on the boards part.

Actually, I DON"T think you get it?

The three slang words I refrained from using were hyper inflamatory, and therefore, I avoided them. The reason they are that way, is due to serious damage in the past, and my humble opinion that the wounds are not fully healed yet.

DSM.... words are just that. They can be good, bad, funny or sad. More importantly is HOW the words are used, and INTENDED. You seriously thought I was trying to degrade anyone?

And sometimes, people project how others could feel, and react in ways the potentially offended person never would.

For example, I went to a Raider game a few years ago. On the back of my leather vest was a small southern flag. Some white guy came up to me and said how I could wear a flag like that, with all the blacks around, he was totally surprised that someone hasn't done something by now. I'm like really? So at the next stall over there were some black guys drinking beer next to us, having a good time. So I ask the guys if they felt offended by the patch, and they both said "Hell no!"

My point is this, and this is the second time i've said this. We are a society of hyper sensitive individuals, ready to pounce at the slightest perceived transgression. If we put as much effort into being tolerant, I think we'd be much better off.

    Back to the slang.

I've had numerous Italian friends over the years. Not once did anyone ever get upset when the word Wop came up. All that brought was laughter. those wounds are healed. We've moved on as a society.

Those other slangs you seem to want to hear me say? We aren't there yet. those are still push button words, and by saying them, evokes a strong emotional response.

I'll let you have the last word. I think I'm done on this one.

    Your go....

Kabul? It has been raining for almost 24 hours now. I'm hoping that this will mean the protests will stop (hard to protest when you are soggy like a wet dog) and we can maybe not be on lockdown for awhile?

well, the good news is that I think we are off lockdown tomorrow! I found out the logistics company that will mobilize my household items (aka gym equipment) is now telling me that my incremental cost for shipping a 79lb piece of equipment will cost me $800+ dollars. so tomorrow I need to go to "World Sports" and see what I can get for under $800.

Off topic is good in this case, let things cool down a bit.

I lived in Korea quite a while ago, and while there, grew to appreciate the finer subtleties of asian women. So when the big guy up there throws down a nice pic like this, I notice I'm looking at it a wee bit longer than some of the other pics.

    btw...

I just asked our secuirty guys.... pretty well connected.

were you involved in the Libyan discussion about whether US has troops on the ground?

you won't see this anywhere in the news, but our intel / security has no doubts that the US DOES have troops on the ground in Libya. All very covert and hush hush. "The Bosnian" gave me example after example of troop movement, so, I'm convinced and once again, the US Media has it wrong.

We were on a code red until 10, then I down graded it to a code yellow (mission essential movement only)

I'm not sure I get the connection between Indians and Bin Laden? Can you enlighten me?

the only thing i could recon is that India and Pakistan HATE each other.. and Al Quida was killing a lot of Pakistani officials. So an enemy of your enemy is your friend per say.

this is only an observation.. hopefully WMA could fill us in a bit more about this though..

yes, the philo of "enemy of my enemy = friend" is an (shall I call it arab? or is it more of a geographical thing?) arab construct.

could it be as simple as that?

Well islam connects us to bin laden as well as indian muslims. Indians as a whole always look for a form of leadership because they are followers. So when a so called islamic leader is killed these indians weep. I really don't know what else could win there support for this pos other than what I stated and maybe some personal beliefs. Imo anyone wanting to support this bitch deserves to be with his ass in the north arabian sea. And machine150 may have also stated another possible reason why.
