The Official 1st ever BB showdown thread.

I feel that the other thread has to much bad juju.

    Contestants are as follows.

    Capebuffalo
    Razor
    Muscleinko
Ares101 [who still owes me pics and stats.]
S&S ShovelHead the official late entry
    Judges are as follows.

    Dukkitdalaw
    Myself...Misery13
    Gearbox
    TimesRoman
    3Js
In the event of a tie we will go to the forum.

Contest starts 01sept13 and ends 01jan13

All pictures and stats do on 01jan13. Not a day before. Not a day after.

Scoring will be based on a minimum body weight of 225lbs with a lowest bf% you can achieve.

Scoring done on a 5 point scale on the following

    Body fat 1-5
    Muscle mass 1-5
    Overall 1-5

    Poses are as follows

    Quarter turns
    Front double biceps
    Rear double biceps
    Front lat spread
    Rear lat spread
    Side triceps
    Side chest

*I received a PM from S&S shovelhead and he has made a compelling argument and would really like to be a last minute entry. My vote is yes. I need the other judges to post there votes please and thank you.

This thread is the showdown. Please no flaming, arguing, or personnal issues. Either keep it to yourself or take it to one of the whore threads.

    That is all for now.

What if your 222 lbs? My opinion quarter turns not necessary. 15 pt max score? Pics and stats should have a deadline. (today)

I think there should be deductions if you're underweight to your total score. Plus there are only 4 judges? And also this is a long wait until the end, you should have some mandatory exhibition poses in between the start and finish date. That way they can see where their competition is.

There will be deductions if someone is underweight. Having the competitors turn in a couple pictures and stats the first of every month is fine by me. Anyone have any objections to this?

    Muscular Development

After each contestant has finished their routines the contestants will be brought out as a group in numerical order. At this time the head judge will call them out in groups of 3-4 or 5 and direct them through the compulsory poses. There are five for the women and seven for the men. The judges will take this time to assess muscular development(See Judging criteria, Muscular development). The side chest and tricep pose may be done from either side.

    POSE#1 - FRONT DOUBLE BICEP
POSE#2 - SIDE CHEST POSE (Either side)
    POSE#3 - BACK DOUBLE BICEP
POSE#4 - TRICEP EXTENSION(either side with front leg angled back)
    POSE#5 - ABDOMINAL POSE
POSE#6 - FRONT LAT SPREAD (MEN)
POSE#7 - BACK LAT SPREAD (MEN)
POSE#8 - MOST MUSCULAR (Optional for the men)

During the entire prejudging the judges should be looking at the competitors symmetry. This refers to the proportion, shape and balance of muscle(See judging criteria - General Assessment). After all the competitors have done the compulsory poses, the judges may ask to see certain competitors together for comparisons. Judges are allowed to ask to see only certain poses or may ask to see a pose that is not part of the compulsory poses but which they feel they need to see in order to place these competitors.(ex. Lat. Spread for a female competitor). When all the comparisons are completed and the judges are satisfied, the line up is dismissed.

The judges than mark their score sheet, consisting of a single placing for each competitor based on all three rounds. The total package should always be considered. The Head Judge will then collect the judges sheets and make sure no judges have made duplicate placings. The next weight class is then called out.
When scoring the placement system is used. Each round will be considered of equal importance, however only one score will be marked on the judges score sheet for each contestant

Stress to the judges that their final placing for each competitor is a reflection of the combination of all three rounds. Notes should be kept on each competitor so that a judge can tell a competitor where they excelled or where improvement is needed

When adding all the judges scores, the high and lows are discarded. The remaining scores are added together. The contestant with the lowest score wins and the rest are placed accordingly.

To determine the relative placing find out who was scored the best by each of the judges. In the above example Competitor #1 was scored better by Judges 1,2,3,and 6 (A total of 4 judges). Competitor #2 received better scores from judges 4,5,and 7(A total of 3 judges). Since Competitor #1 had more judges score her higher(4 to 3), she receives the higher place.

Here's a good question: How will the judges verify that the contestants have actually made weight, and aren't just saying they have?

I agree that symmetry is a good category to be marked on with this forum competition too.

I think a short video of them standing on a digital scale would suffice. Plus, I really don't think these guys are going to try to cheat to win. This is just for fun and to motivate the guys in to making their goal of 225lbs.

    Hahahaha, I'd say so.

Hey, since this is an informational site, how about the contestants be forced to disclose their chosen cycles and supplements as well along with anything else they want to include like diets?

    Official predictions and commentary:

Razr- Good build and thickness, needs to put on 25 lbs n lean up to sweep the competition. He's got the gear, he knows how to eat, he's proven he can grow, can he take home the title? Time will tell.

MI - Judging by the pics he's the favorite for the win at this point but can he make weight? He's got the chef, he's got the trainer, and he's got the gear. If this perfect storm comes together it will be disasterous for the other competitors.

Cape - Solid lean build with the knowledge and contest experience. He knows how to bulk, he knows how to pose, and most importantly he knows how to manipulate his diet to achieve that shredded look. His cycle pales in comparison to the first 2, but will his experience and competitive spirit put him over the top? We'll find out on judgement day.

Ares - Nice lean look with a solid base... so far the most aesthetic in the competition. If he can add 15 lbs he'll be a serious contender. He's a bit of a mystery to many of us here on AR due to him being fairly new, but will this newcomer rip the title out of these other members hands? We shall see.

Shovel - Will need pics before I can make an official comment but judging by his stats he's got a damn good shot.
