congratulatz on ur new born, I'm sorry i am not an expert myself, I believe shortly u'll get a solid advice, but I think u need to give'em a lil bit more info to help u out the best possible way, the common thing, like height and BF, and i think in ur particular case if shes gonna breast feed, and how w/e she's intending to consume gonna affect the baby.
BTW, without even planning it, my wife actually lost weight DURING her 9 month of pregnancy, just by cutting junk food/soda altogether!

First off is she breast feeding?
Secondly she just ha a baby....give clean eating and exercise a try before jumping on the grand magic diet pill or fat burning carpet. Here's a good easy to follow plan for her IF SHE IS NOT BREAST FEEDING.
3 whole eggs/3 egg whites
1/4 cup oats
1/2 cup mixed berries
1/2 grapefruit
1/2 Myoplex Lite
1/4 cup oats
6oz tilapia
2 cups green leafy veggies
3oz sweet potato
1/2 Myoplex Lite
1/4 cup oats
6oz chicken
1/2 can black beans (rinsed)
2 cups green leafy veggies
1 scoop casein with water before bed
With this she needs to do cardio and start exercising more.
