I physically never really move off the 40 40 20 very far.

carb cycling was my choice of tools and work very well for me along side a cal deficit of course or at maintenance if anabolic and adjust. Everyone is different, this is just what works for me

    cardio also a great tool!

There is no magic split for any goal. If you want to drop your carbs you can take your protein to 1.5g per lb of LBM. Fats I tend to stick to the same amount of grams almost regardless of goal. If you keep carbs higher you can keep your protein lower.

As LTN suggests cardio is a great tool. You could just incorporate that to create your deficit, 300cals a day will result in a slow loss. Depends how slow you want to be.

It depends on where you are and where you wanna be

a good starting point in most cases is 300-500 and hit cardio hard.

500cal should provide a loss of 1lb per week. Depends how much fat you have to lose to determine how long that would take. How much do you weigh?
