Gerut has a grand slam and the Brewers pick up a win to split the series 2-2 with the Cubs.

Just 12 games left in the season for the Brewers. It would be nice to finish .500 but with Philly and Colorado remaining, that will be very challenging.

The decision whether to rest Gallardo's arm for the rest of the season comes today.
-
09-21-2009, 06:40 AM #564
Brewers decided to let Gallardo pitch against the Astros and he picked up his 13 win of the season. Prince finally cracked 40 home runs. Brewers are on a five game winning streak and one game short of .500.

Is there ever a game that Looper pitches where he doesn't give up a home run?
-

Holy hell did Dave Bush stink Miller Park up. Brewers are once again the Cubs whipping boys. Braun has had a down year in home runs.

Field with another home run (42). He has been picking up the home run pace in the month of September. Hoffman with his 35th save of the season as the Brewers finally beat the Cubs at Miller Park.

Just six games left in the season. A four game series with the Phillies starts tonight.

With a loss to the Phillies, it doesn't look like the Brewers will get to .500 for the season. On the bright side, Lopez has been a really good leadoff man and the Brewers have a decision to make between him and Weeks. Lopez is a little lazy a second base but Weeks isn't know for strong defense either.

Brewers with a surprise win over the Cliff Lee and the Phillies last night. Fielder with another home run and moves behind Pujols for second in MLB. Fielder is the league leader in RBI's with 136.

Braun blasts a two-run home run in the nineth to help Hoffman pickup his second win of the season. Very surprising the Brewers are leading the series with the Phillies 2-1.

Brewers splitting the series with the Phillies isn't too disappointing considering how this season has went.

Since Fielder's stock is red hot, it will be interesting to see what happens with him in the offseason.
-
09-29-2009, 02:08 PM #574
well all I know is that they better keep him...that is if he's willing to stay.
PITCHING should be the main subject during the cold months, we'll see if that happens.

I don't think I can take another year of Jeff Suppan being a starting pitcher. I'm sure we will sign another castoff from the Cardinals staff in the offseason.
Way too many men left on base against the Rockies but at least Prince seems to be hitting a home run every game.

Brewers got swept easily by the Rockies. They are now guaranteed another losing season.
-

Looper may not have a good ERA and gives up a lot of home runs but the Brewers sure to give him a lot of run support. Looper 14-7...unbelievable. Even more unbelievable is the that the Brewers stun the Cardinals 12-6.

Brewers shockingly sweep the Cardinals and finish two games under .500 for the season. Prince with two home runs (46) to finish second to Pujols. Prince tied Howard for the league lead in RBI's.

It looks like the Brewers want Macha to return for the last year of his contract.

Another NL Central team gets eliminated in the NLDS. So much for the Cardinals living up to expectations.

Former Brewers Manager Ned Yost is trying to land the open manager job with the Houston Astros.

Former Brewers pitcher Ben Sheets plans to pitch in 2010. Whoever picks him up needs to limit his innings pitched to save his arm for an entire season.

When is the NL MVP announced?

Brewers are looking at P Jarrod Washburn. Born in Wisconsin and pitched at Oshkosh in college I believe.

Doesn't bring much to the plate in terms of average or power but is said to have good glove. The most attractive part of the deal for the Brewers is they can cut ties with the expensive Cameron and take that money and apply it to starting pitching.

NL SILVER SLUGGER AWARD to OF Ryan Braun.

The Brewers have declined the option on Branden Looper's contract ($6.5 million option for 2010).

Prince Fielder places fourth in NL MVP race. I'm a bit surprised he placed that low.
-

Mike Cameron signed a two year deal with the Red Sox. With his big salary, I'm glad the Brewers let him go. He struck out too much and isn't Gold Glove caliber anymore.

Cardinals give a big payday to Holliday and they still have Pujols to deal with in the future. They are going to be spending some serious cash on their team salary.

Sporting News Magazine ranked the Brewers farm system 9th in MLB.

Brewers signed Dave Bush to a one-year deal worth $4.2 million to avoid arbitration. That still doesn't guarantee that he gets a starting job or even makes the team.

Ben Sheets is an Oakland A.
There were rumors for Texas the last few years but it never seems to pan out.

TMJ4 is reporting that the Brewers and pitcher Mark Mulder couldn't come to an agreement so he is going to retire from baseball.

How many starts will Suppan get before getting benched? 3, 5, 7? He is going to fear pitching at Miller Park if he doesn't pitch like its a contract year.

Sporting News has the Cubs and Cardinals making the playoffs but not the Brewers.
-

Brewers get to open the season at home this year against the Rockies. I'm glad to see that they put P Jeff Suppan on the DL. He really doesn't deserve to be on the team but he is there because of his massive contract.
-

Gomez had a hot bat going 4-5 but Zaun had a Jason Kendall performance going 0-4. Brewers lose their home opener.

McGehee has looks to be following up with another fine season at plate. Bill Hall will not be missed. Brewers pick up their first win of the season last night.
