btw, I was going to be a doc, decided against it after working in a hospital. The docs I work with make 7 figures. A lot of average docs aren't making enough to survive so there is a big spread depending on what you do and it didn't look like a lot of fun to me. You need to work your ass off and it has to be your life or don't bother.

You work in an OR ? You get to see people all cut up and bloody ?

I looked up the average salary and it was low 6 figures. I could be bored for that $. As for surgeons... I used to be a bartender. I can't imagine it's worse than dealing with belligerent drunks.

I've taken Human Anat and Human Bio and played with cadavers. Then there's the Noxema moustache-- a worthwhile investment... keeps a scent in your nose besides formaldehyde and decaying people.

I could be off on the money but low 6 figures sounds very high to me. They aren't even as well trained as the Physians assistans and surgeons tell me what they pay their PA. It's just under 6 figures.

But anyway, the pay is good...the sitting looks boaring.

I've seen some stuff go down in the OR for sure, but it doesn't bother me. When the blood starts hitting the floor faster then they can put it back in I just step out of the room.

Do you have any suggestions for someone interested in that area of study who doesn't want to deal with the uncertainty and hassles of being a doc?

I play with cadavers all the time for work. I practice my surgical technique.

One of my first jobs at a hospital if you drew the short straw you got to transport the dead from their room or ER to the morgue.
The morgue door said on it "not an exit"
someone crossed out not and the n in an and inserted permenent.
so it said "a permenent exit" on the morgue door lol

things get busy near the anestesia cart when things go wrong. they need to make a bigger line into the patient to give them back blood. I think the real docs come in and do that though.

the only thing that bothered me was the smell of cooking people when they used the hot knife. even that doesn't bother me anymore.

that must be nice. ive found that if i dont run an AI during PCT i keep more of my strength gains during and after.

i did chest and bis. i love my gym cuz im the 2nd biggest guy there. so all the middle age chubby dudes sit and watch me workout. count my reps. take notes on what exercises i do. its hilarious!
