Hi Marcus and all,
Just noticed this thread, thought i'd say hi, been a HIT disciple for long time. Only problem i have now is i have to train 4 on, 3 off due to work schedule. Finally adjusting to it though. Can't wait to start my first cycle here in a few weeks. Great thread btw.

Good morning all. Hope everyone's weekend is good.
Got up this morning to a jacked up R knee. Having some difficulty walking with the pain. It's the worst it's been since the stem cell injection and seems to be regressing. I know now the linear hack press toasted it. I thought I could get by with heavy leg press yesterday but it seems to have flared. Oh well. We'll see what some anti-inflams, ice/heat will do today. Going to say screw it and do a low level hike with the lady as that is more important mentally to get out on a weekend than to pamper my knee.
Legs yesterday:
W/u stationary bike
Prone hamstring curl machine
1 w/u x 12
1 feeler set x 12
1 w set w/ r/p to hit 13
SL deadlifts BB
1 w/u x 15
1 w/u x 15 slightly heavier w/15 s pause to catch breath
1 w set x 12 concentrating on form
1 w set heavy w r/p x 2 then drops to hit 15
Frickin' winded after this
Immediately back to prone hamstring curl machine with drop sets to hit 14 at complete failure just to squeeze that last bit out of hammies.
Seated quad extension
1 w/u x 15, sloooow
1 feeler x 12
1 w set w/ r/p x 2 to hit 13
Really good burn on these, but went heavy. May have contributed to knee pain today. Keeping knee at 90 deg min on eccentric
Seated leg press
1 w/u x 20, slooow
1 w/u heavier x 20
1 w set x 15, slooow to failure
1 w set x 14 to complete failure, half reps at end, no r/p
Good blast here but heavy so feeling it today I think...
Seated calves
1 w/u x 15, slow
1 feeler set x 12
1 w set w/ drops to hit 14
Needed good stretch immediately after to be able to walk.
Overall great blast on the legs. Had to hit my son's flag football game immediately after and went from gym, hit a little downward stretch on the path at the park and could hardly walk down hill, haha. That's the kind of leg session I've been missing!

Hilarious, Clarky, yours are the first posts I've read which have an accent in my head when I read them. I hear Sean Connery saying your posts, haha!
Cracks me up
The only other posts I get like that are Obspowerstroke whose posts come across in my head like Hulk Hogan
On a side note, I've been wanting to visit and hike the Isle of Skye for decades and I might just do that if I can get this knee fixed up. Can I hit you up for info and tips if it materializes?

Well, spent most of my weekend cleaning the basement, specifically re-arranging the gym area. Got the new machine moved downstairs which was a big pain in the ass. That brings me to today. Went to the local farm supply store to pick up 4 of the 4' x 6' heavy duty rubber mats for under the new and some of my old equipment.
These are a pain in the ass to handle and the employee was helping me load them. We'd put them in the back of the SUV then I was leaning in the back door pulling them the rest of the way in. On the next to the last one it felt like I tore my hamstring. Almost dropped me to the ground with visions of the recent bicep tear. Different feel though. Like I got punched in the lower left hamstring. Fucking great.
Drove home in pain and iced it down a couple times and took an Aleve. Not fvcking around this time and called my ortho and fortunately he's in his office about 2 miles from my house tomorrow so I see him at 0845hrs to hopefully determine whether it's just a strain or worse. Fuck me. All this started because I got a new hamstring maching. Definition of irony.

Is there a big area of nasty bruising inferiorly?
Sorry to hear about that. That really blows. Either way, partial rupture or strain, I would hit a PT who does dry needling like tomorrow and get that hamstring dry needled. It often works like nothing short of a miracle. Won't repair a rupture/tear, but it stimulates localized healing and helps reduce the surrounding inflammation and spasm that can prolong the injury and lead to worsening or injury of adjacent tissues.Last edited by TRA; 10-02-2017 at 02:47 PM.

Fvvvck! Hope it is just a slight tweak or just an aggravated nerve or something, Kel. Those stall mats are defo heavy duty, but awkward as the devil to handle and maneuver, especially if you get the thicker ones.
I remember when I bought my first ones a long time back. Had a ruptured bursa at the time and struggled like a madman trying to drag the things off of the stack on the pallet and up into the back of my truck. Eventually one of the young ladies that runs a register stepped outside and gave me some help, I was making minimal progress on my own.
Good luck at your appointment, Kel!There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...

Ok, still feeling weak, but somewhat better. Think I'll go see how much I can get done on some leg exercises.
Edit: Definitely not quite ready to hit legs. Too off balance. Stretching and crunches only tonight.Last edited by almostgone; 10-02-2017 at 09:49 PM.

Lots of good literature out there on it. This focuses mainly on trigger points, but it can be applied to almost any sprain/strain involving muscle/fascia.
I had it done several times and it's the bomb. Works unbelievably well on low back, too.
