Man walks into to a bar and orders a Corona and 2 hurricanes.
Bartender said that will be $20.20.

Yeah. Not that congratulations are in order or anything but You get the award for shittest year. Although the wife's latest scans from last week has her catching up. Shitty year for sure.

On a lighter note: about an hour ago, as a patient was being sedated, he told me a joke.

Do you know why the redneck crossed the road?

He was stuck in the chicken.

Fair enough. I’m a redbilly or a hillneck. I’m a love child and can honky tonk with the best of them.

Any of you maniacs own a suppressor? Getting analysis paralysis...

    My first silencer rodeo

Narrowed down to the thunder chicken, full nelson or the trash panda. I think??

Worried my fillings might fall out without one. Finally got the optics put on yesterday. Hard not to sleep with it last night <3

Picturing you side biceping your way through a boot scooting boogie line dance. It's very disturbing.

I have 4...well, 4.5...i tried my hand at machining my own. It works, but meh. I haven't bought one since 2017. I've got two silencerco's, a surefire, and a gemtech. I have no clue what the hell a trashy thunder chicken panda is, I'm out of the loop I guess. I'm of no help except to say that I wish I had a can for every firearm I own.

Hahaha, well I know how much you love google. May have to check them out

I’m with you and my ears would agree as well. Gem techs get great reviews...have a favorite?

I wouldn’t trust myself to machine a boat anchor, let alone a working suppressor.

Pretty sure these would look purdy all canned up...

They’re both made by Q silencer shop and quick attach to the break I have (the cherry bomb).

    Here’s a pic so you guys don’t think I’m a total nut

I’ll take a hard look at the others mentioned as well.

    Thank you

Happy Tuesday to all as well...

These are the ones you need to look at. And they have your Panda and Chicken. They don’t carry crap products. So they will be quality products. I’ve just never heard of them before.

On a serious note. I've got a buddy that made a diy can out of something similar. It seemed to do okay until he ran it on a bump fired 300 BLK out. The can/filter is no more.

    Found some crazy vids.

I see why your buddy blew one up in 300 BLK Slf....haven’t found a video or forum yet where anyone recommends going over .22

With subsonic rounds, I think they could be perfect

If you don’t modify it, wonder if it would require a form 1?

I see why your buddy blew one up in 300 BLK Slf....haven’t found a video or forum yet where anyone recommends going over .22

With subsonic rounds, I think they could be perfect

If you don’t modify it, wonder if it would require a form 1?
Only if you are caught with it attached to your gun not your truck. Lol

Apparently I’m late to this game. These are available too and some by JK armaments as well.

Bigger one’s for larger caliber too. Just need to make some “modifications” I guess...right?

The feds are paying a lot of attention to those places selling filter parts than can be easily be adapted into a suppressor. To be legal you have to have sent in your Form 1 (it's a Form 4 for a store-bought can) with the check for $200 and received your tax stamp back before you even can buy the parts you intend making it from.

Oddly, it takes weeks for a Form 1 to go through but closer to 6 months for a Form 4. And the feds can be REALLY anal about Form 1s. It's supposed to be of your own manufacture so they can be real pricks about doing everything yourself. During the reign of Sheikh Obama (piss be upon him), they ruled that even if you knew how to use the equipment, you couldn't borrow a CNC machine from your B-I-L's machine shop to make parts because that was receiving outside assistance.

I've got a 4" 686 that I picked up for $275 that turned my 1970s Python into a safe queen. The Smith's DA trigger is slicker than deer gut on a doorknob, an incredible trigger for what I've got in it. And now Python prices have got so ridiculous that it's worth more than my car, so in the safe it goes.

My two most practical firearms are that 686 and a Beeman R9 .20 airgun. The Smith is a first-rate TEOTWAWKI arm because with judicious shot selection it'll take any game animal in the eastern US, plus those 2-legged varmints. And target practice is cheap if I shoot .38s.

I've killed animals as large as coons, possums, skunks and feral cats with the Beeman. And I've killed starlings with it at a laser-ranged 54 yards, one shot, so it's a shooter, too. Plus it's quieter even than a suppressed .22 shooting subsonics. It's all I've used for rabbits and tree rats for close to 20 years now and I kill just as many as I used to, I just have to stalk a little better and get a few steps closer.

Best of all, a tin of 500 pellets costs $15, so you can shoot it all damn day for a couple of bucks.

It's a shit film (Burt Lancaster, the blue-eyed Messikin?) but I've always loved "Valdez is Coming" because of the long-range shooting, 1100 yards with iron sights. Not that unrealistic considering Billy Dixon's 1500+ yard shot at the second battle of Adobe Walls (also with a Sharps).

Sometime I just think the ol' fellas just shot better than we can. That's the only reason I can figure why they put vernier sights calibrated to 2800 yards on the original batch of WWI '03 Springfields. That's more than a friggin' mile and a half.

I love the Sheriff of Baghdad's rules of thumb for estimating range to a human, but that peters out at 600 yards. You're on your own for that last 2200 yards.

But that's some good shit at AR ranges.
