I would get a Porsche (I own one, actually) over a GTR and day. I have friends with GTRs, and while they are incredibly fast around a track, they just don't feel like a grown up car. But an R8? Hell yeah, in a heart beat. Beautiful cars.
Maybe it has to do with the high miles people put on Lexus, or the amount of thefts? Very interesting. I am constantly surprised at the insurance voodoo pricing.
Most nice, or specialized, cars are owned by older guys for the reason you mentioned...they are in their peak earning years and can get what they want.
Yeah, but drag racing is boring.

Sick car man. I love sti's and evo's but I'd take a vette over either of them any day. Get on some tren and go hit the town, the ladies will flock to you. Only downside is you can only fit one in your car so choose wisely.

Nice car but those tires got to go man they look like ****ing all seasons from the side. It probably came in with bald tires at the dealership and they want to make.as much money as possible so are not going to pony up the doe for proper performance tire on a vet. Of coarse only a car guy would notice that and nobody else will notice while the car is moving. A higher performance tire typically will last longer corner better stop and grip better too. Just my opinion.

You will have that when you have two different rim and tire sizes. If you caugh up a little more doe for a better tire chances are they will last longer as long as you don't.smoke em all the time and don't buy directional tires because if you do you can't even rotate them side to side.

I believe those were the original ones that came with my package (Z51), which were the F1 run flats. Hoping something improved, because those were crap tires right out of the gate. After 2,000 miles the tires would start spinning by barely putting any throttle into it. Seriously, I probably would have lost a street contest to a Yugo with those things. I scrapped them early on and went with the KDW's, never looked back! The Michelin Sports are probably the only other tires I would consider for mine.

**** I just wrote out a paragraph on directional tires and its all gone what the.****. my Maine point was they have their place and they aren't your only option and it is worth the time on trying to find tire that are not directional so you can make them last thousands of miles longer. That would only be a couple months for.me but still

I'm not sure what model BMW it was but this guy comes in and says his car has a shake in it at around 65 after he got his new tire. So it being an almost brand new car my boss tells me to take it out for test drive. I get out to this monster and its this big sexy looking car and has a v-12 emblem on the side. You can just imagine where this is going. To make this story short and no orient wreck it this ****ing cars traction control would stop engaging until it hit 5th gear and that was around 100 mph. It was ****ing insane. Not sure how fast it went or how fast I got it going bit the road got short and seemed to narrow in a hurry and that was the last time I looked at the Trac control or the speedometer. Dint want to wreck it.

I always been a 1/4 mile guy. I can care less about road course and the like.
When I juiced my last car, it would launch like no other. . . . Every time I build a car it comes out being only good for straight runs.
I guess to each is own, but nothing beats hitting a Buck 50+ by the end of a quarter mile strip.

I never got to 150 at the end of a 1/4 mile strip. Got within 10 miles or so. I am pretty sure I can get there if I wanted to juice my car, but after my last car I don't want to get to crazy. I have no money to buy new shit all the time any more.
Seen it plenty of times and it seems like a hell of a run.
But, it does not look fully crazy until you see guys at 180 at the end.

About another 5k will do it, 10k if I want it to last more than 5 runs.
The last 2k I spent was just on suspension work, these things aren't the most stable stock.
It's all about $, my last car I just wasted $ upon money because I thought it was a cool thing to do. That car called for 2 of my credit cards being maxed so I could just do it.
My Camaro is a plenty fast for me now. If I get a real job someday it's a different story.Last edited by < <Samson> >; 05-05-2012 at 11:10 AM.
