The first Brewer I think the fans will turn on will be Gagne. Granted, Yost only lets him pitch with a lead so we might only see him when Sheets starts.

GM Doug Melvin said that he is trying to get Yost to give McClung a shot as a starting pitcher.

Not a good start, for Parra yesterday, with Pujols hitting a solo home run in the first inning.
-
05-10-2008, 12:19 PM #244
Parra had settled down and pitched a scoreless third but, as ususal, the Brewers did not score a run when they had their chance.

Brewers.com was asking Brewers fans to vote for Prince Fielder for the All-Star team. I was thinking "Are you serious?!".

Pittsburgh Pirates have won four straight and only a game behind the Brewers.
-
05-10-2008, 12:23 PM #247
Hopefully, the Cardinals lose their fourth straight today.

It will be a rough go for the Diamondbacks, against the Cubs today, with Dempster on the mound. He has transitioned very well back into the starting role. Hopefully, the Cubs bullpen does them in.

Sheets pitched a scoreless first inning, against the Cards, with two strikeouts.
-
05-10-2008, 02:06 PM #250
Brewers held scoreless, in the first inning, but Sheets locks down the Cards in the second.
-
05-11-2008, 08:10 AM #251
Cubs have been impressive beating the Diamondbacks the last two games.

Why is Cameron batting second? Seems like he would better as a fifth batter or lower.
-

I made it home, after work, in time to catch the end of the game on FOX. What the hell happened with Bill Hall? I wonder who blew the play: Hall or Kendall? An guess would be Hall because Kendall is a seasoned vet. Yost really snagged some boos for that disaster at home plate.

The one bright spot is that Gagne took the loss rather than Sheets. Ben still hasn't lost a game this season.

I'm surprised how well Suppan has pitched against the Cardinals. The Brewers seem to play a little better at Miller Park.

It will be interesting to see who Yost bring out to close the nineth inning (if we still have the lead by then).
-

Capuano will most likely have his second Tommy John surgery.
-
05-15-2008, 08:22 AM #258
Yost having Cameron lead off, against the Dodgers yesterday, was a bone head decision. He struckout three times.
-
05-15-2008, 08:22 AM #259
Mota blew the game, in the nineth, giving up three runs.
-

Braun has raised his play at the plate. It's refreshing to see a player improve after signing a big contract. That's rare in Milwaukee sports.

We never seem to play well in Pittsburgh so things don't get any easier on Tuesday.
-

Prince has been really bad at first base lately. I believe, statistically, he is the worst first baseman in Major League Baseball right now.
-
05-19-2008, 09:29 AM #263
C Jason Kendall's batting average is really starting to drop.
-

For those knowledgable about how baseball's contracts work: when is the earliest that Prince Fielder can leave the Brewers?
-
05-21-2008, 08:13 AM #265
Gagne is lucky he wasn't pitching at Miller Park last night. He tried to throw this one away too.
-
05-21-2008, 08:13 AM #266
Hart should keep moving up in the lineup. He has been more consistent, at the plate, than anyone this season.
-

B. Sheets (4-1, 3.25) vs. The Pirates I. Snell (2-2, 5.05) at 6:05pm tonight.
-
05-21-2008, 09:11 AM #268
Brewers and Pirates both sit at 21 wins and 24 losses right now.
-
05-26-2008, 08:13 AM #269
I can't believe the Brewers couldn't take three out of four from the pitiful Nationals. Something needs to be done to salvage the season.

The Brewers finally get back to .500. Cubs are on fire, though.

I think this is only the Brewers second sweep of the season.
-
06-02-2008, 08:03 AM #274
Cubs have won seven straight. Even with the Brewers playing better, they haven't been able to gain any ground on them.
-
06-02-2008, 08:03 AM #275
Reds have won three straight, as well. They are only a game behind us.
-
06-02-2008, 08:05 AM #276
One more home run and Braun double Fielder's home run total for the season (8).
-
06-02-2008, 08:58 AM #277
were you at the game yesterday?
I was there....sec 119 row2.....W00T

The Cubs are red hot. They even started their road trip off with a win over the Padres.
