I have so many "vets" in the gym that watched me grow really quick my first 6 months back and proceed to tell me how much bigger and better they were than me in there prime. One thing I forgot to mention is this guy maybe mid to late 40's REALLY got under my skin one day. After trying to decline 405 and I failed I moved over to another exercise and he calmly states that "that's not how you do it" I got a tad ill about it, he proceeded with more "knowledge" and I just walked off. Started my dips. Btw, this guy is maybe 175 soaking wet. And tbh, I have no prob taking advice from anyone that doesn't proceed to be a dick about it and it helps if they have a decent physique too. im sure many feel the same way

I was doing butterfly curls one day.. and this 120lb kid nailed me in the head with a curl bar. Turned red hott, trying not shuv it up his back door. Other than that,
Asking about gear. Or "what do you take?"
Fags on their cell phones.
Dudes who think they are fvcking huge... but they are fat.
People with terrible form.
Mean muggers.
People staring from the cardio machines.
... I need my own gym.

what pisses me off about the gym are people in general, why cant anyone actually put a dumb bell back on the dumb bell rack? Is it really necessary for me to have to go search the entire gym floor for a pair of dumbbells?

It pisses me off when I'm all set, ready to go, I've taken my preworkout and got to the gym, I'm pumped.. Set to kill it.. I walk in the door... And there's people there, i begin to cry inside and wish eternal damnation on these people.

That just gave me an idea. I should open a gym and have a policy that if you dont rack your weights, ie. dumbbells, free-weight plates or wipe your bench when you are done you get charged $5 for each offense.
$5 charge if you are not sweating after being there for over 30 minutes. $5 charge if you are not grunting or making some kind of stress noise at least on your last set/reps.

Twenty something's working out in groups talking texting and tying up the equipment.
Old people sitting on equipment reading between sets.
Anyone on a cardio piece going slower than what they can actually walk.
Arrogant butt holes that spend most of their time looking in the mirror.

So I got off of work early today and decided that I was going to go and do legs since I will be busy tomorrow, I get to the gym around 2pm and I run into this guy... The guy that takes up 20 something plates and puts them on the leg press machine and then only does a quarter rep screaming his lungs out for the entire 4 inch movement. Making the entire gym stop and have to wait for him to get done with his little knee crushers so that any one else can get some of the weights and actually do anything. And then when he is done he gets up and walks away just leaving all of the plates sitting on the leg press machine.
I hate that my gym only has some 20 something plates and is closed on Friday nights.

Newbies just smashing and grunting with 20lb dumbells, wannabe bodybuilders that gather 10 pairs or dumbells around them, squatting barefeet with 60kg, lads dancing (even singing) to the music they can only listen.

I hate when people your trying to help... Perceive it as criticism, and get all defensive!! We're here to help and guide others(I'm starting to realize that you can't help everyone!!! And when they think its funny to try and say something smart ass about it!!
Don't ask if your not ready to hear the truth!!! Aaaaaaahhhhhhhh!

I hate people on cell phones in the gym.

And the majority are in full force... Just sitting in equipment not even working out! Yeah that'll do it for me as well! Now some use it as a timer which is fine as they're usually re-racking etc... But when just sitting taking up space it is a blatant disrespect to all other patrons and is quite messed up!

Using them as a timer or music is fine. It's when the phone is ringing and people are taking calls and talking loud that pisses me off.

Girls who go to the gym and pretend to lift while sticking out their butts and boobs hoping guys will look at them! My gym has one girl that would spend her whole workout doing this. Actually I'm not sure I could call it a workout!

The worst is the people that come there to socialize. 10 minute rests between sets. Dudes with no physiques rocking fitness related clothing all matching together.

Things that have pissed me off at the gym before...
* I did 3 reps with a snatch-grip deadlift of 335 pounds. I was young and proud. At that point, I was plateauing hard, so my mood wasn't exactly at best. Then some random legless douche with a bloated upper-body looked at me with a bad-attitude face and said, "Dude, stop trying so hard! Be satisfied with what you are now and just do a real workout."
I was shocked.
*I was attempting 155 pounds on the power snatch and failed. And some stick-figure said, "Brah! Why not just lift light weights for high reps brah? You build more muscle that way!" His friend, who I saw working hard a while ago with bench presses, said "Dude, I don't think he's trying to build muscle. He's like, trying to compete with those things or something. And with things like deadlifts-" The stick figure interrupted him and said, "No brah! It makes no ****ing sense to try lifting something you can't even lift once, brah!"
I was gonna talk to him and spend about 10 seconds explaining what I was doing. But the douche avoided eye contact and started walking away.
lol. If he did that to me now at my age and my level of wit, he would've had a very unpleasant time.
It pisses me off the most cause I never walk up to these dudes and tell them to go **** themselves because they curl at the squat rack.Last edited by JohnnyJim; 04-16-2015 at 05:45 PM.

Anyone tying up equipment and doesn't have any gym educate, and think working in would slow them down(I'll be fine all my sets b4 they start there second)
People wanting to socialize...

I walk into my small gym the other day... 7 high school kids (one or 2 might have been 18 or over) all doing DB preacher curls. Thats not the bad part they had every bench covered with their scrawny asses sitting while they waited to curl. One of them was young and had an awesome physique for his age. I managed to complete my whole workout while they only did curls.
After my workout, I heard one of them talking about getting as "big" as the well built kid. I interrupted with the comment "If you guys lifted as hard as you talked you'd be that big." Then directly at the bigger guy. "and if you lifted as hard as you talked you could do this for a living"
Then i walked out. This is what a rapper must feel like when he drops the mic and leaves the stage

When there's more than me in the building. Leave. Me. Alone.
And no, you can't work in a set of curls while I'm squatting.
And no, I don't care what your name is.
And no, I don't want to know how much you bench.
And no, I don't need encouragement, just spot me fukker.
And no, I don't want to taste your pink lemonade cellucor.
And no, I don't remember where I got my shorts/shoes/shirt/wraps
And no, I won't help you score with the hot chick that I know.
I think that about does it.

Not kidding, four boys all sat round chatting on multiple equipment and benches all staring at a barbell with 100kg on waiting to be dead lifted, it was like a pathetic relay team, like ffs! Get on with it. It doesn't take four of you in turns to lift
