I'm surprised at progress I'm seeing. Going to have to light a fire under my own ass now that I'm having weekends off.
Tell you what, after 16 years of mostly third shift, second shift is a big change.....so much daylight and traffic!
Probably will end up on day shift my last couple of weeks here. I can deal with that though. I like early morning lifting in my shop at home!!
Reading between the lines you’re saying I’ve got this in the bag. Thx AG. Appreciate your confidence.

Oh man. That’s right you’re dealing with traffic. That’s rough

LOL, I accept payment in the form of firearms, precious metals, and PEDs, not necessarily in that order!

Si', me and traffic/humanity in general don't mesh well.

I'm waiting to see what Kel turns the PED acronym into. His vascularity is exceeded only by his ability to crank out very good dry one-liner responses that leave me laughing my ass off.

You have the luxury of not knowing what I know; that Lawerence’s death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, *saves lives*. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a *damn* what you think you are entitled to!
I'm going to double-like this. Once because it's a funny use of it, and once because Jack freaking Nicholson, guy nailed this scene.

Wtf, PB. Move to the Midwest, we're to laid back and slovenly to get up that much energy. It's probably the water.

    Back tonight:

    BB rows
    Wide grip pull ups
Close grip pull ups with a narrow handle
    DB rows
    Reverse grip pull-downs
    Shrugs

Overall, it was a good workout. The gym was empty and the music was loud. I envy well equipped home gyms.

CM, thanks for the diet comment, i have a follow-up question about carbs I'll throw out this weekend. But for now, everyone have a fantastic weekend!

(Yes, I'm still chubby. Working on it)

I'm towards the Upstate. I had Basic at Jackson and later went to PLDC/PNCOC at Jackson out near the Screaming Eagle Road area....in July. Saw some of the largest rattlesnakes I've ever seen in my life.
I remember the last time I was in Columbia a few years back. Broad River Road, I-20, etc. were basically a roll of the dice as far as traveling safely. Probably hasn't improved.

You aren't too late for a cycle. I start mine next week too but its short esters so it's meant to be 8 weeks anyway. Looking good btw your skin is much thinner.

CM, what's IRL? Sorry, I should probably know.

Ok, I'll up my cardio this week, keep my calories the same.

I'll start my cycle next week. I've never been trying to loss weight when I start a cycle, I'm always hoping to grow.... so... Normally, when I start I jump about 10 pounds pretty quick. I assume its water and giving myself the mental permission to eat like a slob.

So when I start, the scale is likely to tell me I'm getting fatter, then I wont want to eat... that's where the mind-fvck takes over. This time I will stay the course, keeping my calories the same, increasing my cardio a bit.... right?

    I'm thinking 600test/400Mast/.25 adex eod.
I've run 300T/400M/.25 adex every 3.5 days, before and had no issues. (other than Mast seems to make me have to pee all night). Open to any thoughts on this idea.

I hope everyone is having a great start to their weekend!

Went scuba diving today. It was a great experience. Fish everywhere. Breathing under water. It was all quite weird to say the least.

Breathing underwater really is a trip. I remember the first time I went scuba diving, breathing was the hardest part. But it's amazing if you've got good water. That place looks beautiful.

I actually just started. I heard several people around here (Scotchguard, kel, Tarzan, etc etc etc) talking about the benefits. And I think in Chargers competition thread the whole Mast / Cialis conversation happened. So I just started 5mg every day specifically because I was going to run mast.

Got my cardio this morning, then was out most of the day, came home and had my planned cheat meal plus. Felt bloated and tired. Took a long nap. Off to the gym for quads tonight. I'll put that cheat meal to good use!

    Totally understand your reluctance, lol.

I'm doing some light cardio at this point. Aggressively walking M-W-F mornings, fasted, carrying a 50 pound weight vest, for about 30 mins. It's a heavy walk and I sweat, but not overly 'cardio'. I'm limited to what i can do at home in the mornings, with no equipment other than the vest. It goes up to 100 pounds, and this week I'll up it to 60 pounds.

I was saying earlier, when i start my cycle this week, weekly: 600 test/400 mast/.25 adex eod, the scale freaks me out as i tend to go up in weight. This is the first cycle I've done where I'm actually trying to lose weight. I'm still eating 2400-2500 calories, but my weight loss is starting to slow down. I'd like to 1) keep my food up, and 2) still lose about 2 pounds a week. I'll know more when i weigh in tmrw.

Is yours an all-out cheat? Or do you just eat a few more carbs? I recall you mentioned you were about to add carbs back into your regular diet. What's the thinking in adding back the carbs while you're trying to lose weight?

Dang, took Mrs. AG out to grab some supper while we were running errands. Was going to read some in the thread, but fell asleep in my recliner.

Will catch up some tomorrow. Y'all keep up the good work!

    Anything goes cheat meal
Not trying to lose weight, exactly. I'm about recomposition rn. Really bodyfat percentage decrease is my aim. When I first discussed it with my coach I assumed coming off cycle I wouldn't be able to gain more muscle, but he thinks I can gain more. (I assumed we'd be cutting, but I'm new to this.) I've had good results with my coach in the year we've worked together (and he works with a number of successful ifbb pros) so I trust his long term plan to help me meet my goals. (Also, tell me I get to eat carbs and I'm not gonna fight ya!)

    What's up folks!

Saturday got all whack. Breakfast shake at 9am on my way to work and no time to eat (or drink for the most part) until around 10pm. Not good but what can you do. Weighed 78kg or 172lbs the next morning which down 9lbs since the start of the comp. At least half a kilo was transient weight from that long work day lol. I can see veins above the groin but still have a small layer of fat covering the lower abs so no full abs this cut.

Pre cycle bloods tomorrow, lipids, CBC, liver, kidney, HbA1c and glucose, and thyroid TSH and T4 all for $65.

Cycle starts in two days! Will take pics today. I'll train today too which will affect liver values but it won't be brutal just some grip and easier exercises for lower body. Bad timing but what can you do, I just wanted to see if the niacin is affecting liver at 1500mg per day. Actually now that I think of it I'd rather rest until cycle start in two days and just go to the gym for some 1000kcal cardio session on the elliptical.

Will post on cycle diet soon.

The AAS will make your weight increase no matter what. Never done a cutting cycle myself but with your dosage it looks like a recomp cycle, you'll add muscle if you train and eat protein although it would probably be more muscle if you had more calories/no fat loss. Either way post up your diet maybe someone can give some feedback on how to optimize those 2500 cals.

Debating on going to gym, had a shitty weekend....literally. Got some kind of stomach bug, had the blow my ass off shits. I never puked, but felt really bad, had a fever last night. I'm sure this is what yall wanna hear... lol
I hate getting these. While they good for shedding water weight, they slow down progress when recomping, which is what I'm shooting for

I'm still working out 6 days a week even though not doing the comp! I have a full physical with bloods Sept 26th, if everything is looking good will start another cycle in October. Working back and upper chest hard! I know legs legs legs ... been hitting them but not as hard yet, will focus on them during my next cycle. I'm old and tired like Kel.

As a judge you all know that I understand how hard it is to re-comp your body. For some of you it will be harder to make gains then others. Keep up the good work and dig deep for that motivation!!!! It all has to be there ... diet, workouts, sleep, and a bit of enjoyment in life!

So there's the rub... Wanting to lose fat AND gain muscle at the same time, lol...

Currently I'm eating about 110carbs/110fat/250protein Which is 2,4xx-something, I'm close to this.

Warning: Sorry this got so long, it's all sudo-science I probably made up in my head.... Its a long winded carb-nonsense backstory, feel free to skip and ignore. But if I'm way off base, feel free to speak up!

Why am I only at 110g carbs: Blood sugar. For the last 5-6 years I've been eating about 300g of carbs (brown rice/oats mostly) per day, landing at about 3000-3300 cals a day (including fats and protein). When I ran a cycle this past Spring, I felt that I most just cycled into about 20 pounds of fat, then I lost that 20 pounds of fat afterwards when I cut back my calories. After talking and googling for a few days, I stumbled upon the idea of Insulin sensitivity* and began to think I was insensitive to insulin**. My past lab work has landed my glucose level around 99-105. So I bought a glucose meter and started taking my blood sugar. As consistently as I could, I tried to eat the same way every day and measured it for a week. It averaged 120 (less than 100 is normal). So I cut 50 grams of carbs for a few weeks and my BS was about 115. So I cut another 50, it was about 105, So I cut another 50, etc, etc... I did this from April through July, trying to eat the same protein and fat, and eating the same type of carbs. Today, I eat about 100 g of carbs a day (mostly veggies and rice) and my BS is about 96. My last round of lab-work had my glucose level at 90, and I'm eating about 2450(ish) calories, 110carbs/110fat/250protein.

So here I am in this current competition and I'm not sure what to do with my diet. I'm eating the same, I've only added 3 days of cardio, I eat a cheat meal Saturday night still, and since 8/1 I'm down 10 pounds (from 240, to 230, 6'1", 46yrs old). But this past week I have leveled off a bit AND I'm going to start a test/mast cycle this week....

(Side note: I joined this comp late in the game, so it doesn't line up with my cycle plans. So be it, life goes on after this competition, and while this ends 10/24, my cycle tentatively will last longer, I'll only run mast for 10 weeks, then possibly switch to test/tren for 6 more weeks.)

    So.... what to do?
Option 1) If I keep everything the same, but add the gear, I suspect I"ll go up a few pounds on the scale, remain the same and mostly just waste the cycle.... maybe it'll re-comp a bit.
Option 2) I guess I could focus on re-comp (which appeals to me), but I'd be tempted to add some cals when I start, but that runs counter to this competition.
Option 3) Try a genuine cutting cycle (never done) but I only have Test/Mast/Tren on hand, and a bit of left-over clen rolling around in the back of the drawer, but only about 2 weeks worth... Oh, and some Winny that I never tried, but I've avoided orals for a while now.
Option 4) Hire PB's trainer and let him deal with it.
    Option 5) ?????

I open to any conversation about any of this... Or because its so long... you can skip it all together

(Edit: Maybe I should copy/paste this to the diet section??)

I understand what you mean. Your carb sources seem good, the next step would be ketogenic diet if you keep going that route but if you're still at 5.3 with only 110g carbs you might need some different kind of help. My dad became a diabetic and dependent on insulin. He eventually found a way without it and only takes metformin now although he sometimes goes back to using insulin for a while. The reason is to give his pancreas a break. When he does this he uses a long acting insulin, and when he comes off his insulin production is intact again and blood sugar low.

I have heard of multiple different sources doing this too including Dave palumbo on his Q&A videos. Of course this is only done under doctors supervision. The exogenous insulin signals the pancreas to stop producing insulin so it gets some "time off" so to speak. I'll search for the vid in a bit. Either way consult your doctor about this, you might have to present some bloodwork with higher blood sugar levels to make a point or if you can convince him you can't keep up with a low carb diet and need external help. I don't know how that part will work lol but high blood sugar is common due to HGH usage among bbers so they run into this issue themselves.
Last edited by cousinmuscles; 08-27-2018 at 02:16 PM. Reason: Correction: meant high blood sugar, not insulin insensitivity in the last sentence.
