I have a lot of faith in my neurosurgeons - best of the best

It feels like a whole new world every day

Now, I’m on psyche meds - my mind just runs away. I’ll feel A ok - then slump over for hours at a time

But, I am focusing on true safe recovery already. . . I am a very rare case. I’ll post a pic of the AVM when I get it - from what the neurologists explained, I am an extremely rare case

I also thank my wife so much - without her, there’s no me - not now. I can go into detail, but it’s not worth repeating

But - I did have my fun with it as much as I could. The nurses sure enjoyed a bit of me. These girls saved my life. . . And the most insane thing - I remember everything aside from my post anesthesia spell.

All the women nurses are getting flowers from me here shortly. The attention they gave me - really showed me how much they care for others. . . And, I asked - no one else sends em flowers

I guess it just takes so much for us people to learn

Nothing will be the same after this - but, for the better
I am so happy for you brother!!

Be careful with that stuff. Benzos are no joke. They're highly addictive and it's possible to actually die from the withdrawal. And you build tolerance quick to them.

Just use the meds and don’t overthink it. Your docs will work with you to ween you off.

Take my advice here, I just got off of 250 mgs of fentanyl, 8 oxy-contin, 4 dilaudid, 4 hydro morphone XR and 12 extra strength norco’s a day. You’ll be fine with some Valium brother.

They’re prescribing them for a reason. I couldn’t smoke any weed, but I did eat 10 mgs of indica edibles a day to help with hunger.

I was also taking 2 mgs of Xanax to sleep.

I’m sharing this with you to put it in perspective. Glad you’re home and safe brother!

Oh fucking shit, I knew I was the "Lucky" one - fuck man. . . My pussy ass digestive system could barely handle the morphine

He is right tho, I know drugs - that's a fact. . . Specially for my addictive ass personality

Today is the first day I am pulling back on the Valium - i already used xAnax previously to all of this for sleep. . . . So, I am looking to get back into that routine as quickly as possible. I am monitoring myself 24x7 - I want to recover safely as possible since recovery is now an option(THANK YOU GOD HIMSELF!) - pulling back on everything aside from the BP meds(since they don't seem to give me any too bad of side effects) and now looking into homeopathic ways to assist my BP

I thought I explained, but I don’t recall & rather spend time writing than reading

So - I was born with a AVM - got diagnosed with it at the age of 14 when I got an MRI post getting a concussion from getting jumped by a local gang of Brotha’s for wearing the wrong colors(no joke)< I always lived in the poorest parts of town till I could work. From that point, it really changed how I felt about life - post “procedure” is the first time I remembered the event - i always remembered getting jumped & waking up somewhere(but not what they diagnosed me with)

An AVM - depending on size & position no one wants to work on - it’s a tangled set of veins and arteries - the left side of my dome has been getting arterial pressure(according to the neuro team, a lot of arterial pressure & it’s quite large and spread over the left side of my head)

    Here’s my official diagnosis:

I will have a quite a few questions for my neurologist - I really would like to me him. How they speak of him at the hospital is just amazing. . . The rest of the neuro team is extremely knowledgeable - and, they all speak on his behalf.

The man who saved my life - so far, so good

I am officially still considered “neurologically intact” < that’s what I got released under - maybe I’ll have admin change the 2nd part of my name on here to that. Lol

Already submitted to Admin, good sir

Yeah, me and my discharge RN joked around with it for a bit. If you’re wife says you’re crazy - tell her, nope - neurologically intact

    Samson,

I honestly am in awe by your new view on life.

After all that we've been through this year (damn you 2020)...
And after all this board has been through this last couple of months...

You have been a shining light of inspiration.

    Be well.

And bored now - body is recovering too quickly

But, I’m barely allowed to move - hard mix

I was a tad too active yesterday - I’m so used to physically pushing myself to the max.

I won’t b able the bend down for over 6 weeks post procedure - one week down

Bent my head down about 4-5” inches yesterday too look at my destroyed crotch. I almost became a liability for my wife to catch

    ^Don’t do that again

Oh well - I still feel like the luckiest guy around

Here's an article about people who've developed special mental powers after a head injury:

    https://www.theatlantic.com/health/a...genius/257282/

    Excerpt:

But Muybridge is actually one of a number of people who've miraculously developed artistic, musical, or mathematical abilities as a result of a brain injury. There's Orlando Serrell, who was struck in the head with a baseball as a 10-year-old and found he could remember the weather for each day following his accident. There's Derek Amato, who woke up after hitting his head at the bottom of a pool and became a master pianist at 40, despite lacking any sort of musical training. There's Alonzo Clemens, whose verbal and cognitive abilities stopped developing at the age of three due to a head injury but who can assemble incredibly detailed sculptures of animals in a matter of minutes.
And here's another article about 10 people who developed unusual mind capabilities after brain damage:

    https://www.bestpsychologydegrees.or...-brain-damage/

And this guy became a mathematical genius after a head injury:

Rolling head aches are still around, primarily on the left side - they just come & go

Body wants to just take off running

I’m not supposed to bend down or pick up any for close to two months

Pulled all meds yesterday until nite time for sleep - I took a Valium right before bed - got stoned the rest of the day(the bp meds gave me horrid sides, swollen throat & awful indigestion - Valium < well, I like drugs too much - I don’t need fresh addictions)

I feel like one wrong move before needed recovery is completed & I will b back in icu < since the neuro nurse practitioner said they just had a guy come back. Similar repair - picked up his kid’s bike, felt a snap - right back into icu

It’s a tough mix - but, I still feel like the luckiest person alive < well, the whole floor at a leading neurological hospital saying that kinda really reinforces that

I put down cigarettes, alcohol is out of the question(i am following my neurological team’s advice to a t) - what they say is ok, goes - all else is out the window(well, my roids don’t count - still on 250mg a week of test 100mg of deca ) - all of this makes my gyno surgery seem like popping a pimple

One week and one day post “procedure” today. I truly felt there was no way back - to make this far, is a enormous win

Which BP meds are you on, Samson? I swear, I can literally "hear" your improvement when I read your posts. Keep up the good work, buddy!

Edit. At work, but just read you drop the cigs. Congrats!!!! One of the best things you can do. Smoking can be a huge contributor to arterial stiffness.

You'll get rid of them. Just tell yourself you won't buy any more cigs and that you won't hit anyone up for a cig. I had my own ashtray at home when I was 14 and quit for good in my very early 30s; that's been well over 2 decades ago.

    You'll get there.

Yeah, I been told I have an old soul < makes a tad of sense now, I suppose

Only cigarette I’ll smoke, aside from a Marlboro Lite of Red

I come and go - I’ll take day to week breaks. One of the last things I did when I thought the lights weren’t gonna come back on is have a smoke.

And, being a Twilight Zone fanatic doesn’t help at all - since back them smoking wasn’t considered bad for our health - they smoked in hospitals
