Hey MS- have you ever tried restricted flow workouts?
You allow blood through the arteries but restrict the blood flow in th veins.
I really want to hear your thoughts.

I have not done it, yet...

I’ve read a little bit of the research on it, but not enough to draw a conclusion on it. I don’t really even understand the though process behind it either. I’ll do some reading up on it.

Got some longs hikes over the weekend. Will hit the weight room tonight after work I hope. Got up a 3am to go to work. It’s been so busy lately. The great thing is I’ve still been leaning up. Working like this I don’t need to diet or do cardio...lol

    Chest, tris and shoulders:

I think I’m going to go to a full body routine to stay caught up for the next few weeks until work slows a bit.

    Back and Bi’s,s tonight

Found out my gym went to a true 24hrs schedule all week long. That will help me out hugely. Weight is done to 196. Lightest I’ve been since the last time i competed.

    Chest and tris,

Went heavy since i didn’t have to go at 3am to get my workout in. Got a half day off so hit the gym in hr afternoon. Felt really good to go heavy (for me) did some 100lb DB press on the incline bench. Never gone that high before on the incline.

Got a nice hike in later in the evening. Still leaning up, going to go back on Keto to see if I can get my abs and obliques to come in completely.

Thanks man, how’s everything going with you? Big plans for the summer?

I’ve been dating this new girl and all she wants to do is go on camping trips, fish and f....ah cuddle. Actually we haven’t done anything more than kiss and it’s been almost 3 months. I have to admit, there is something nice about getting to know a girl before jumping in that sack with her.

Welp, I did a thing and got with a contest prep coach and will shoot for Sept first to start doing a show prep. That should get charger off my back a bit...lol

Hey man! That’s awesome! I literally just walked out of the gym. Hit some delt work tonight. Now gotta go feed! Glad to hear you’re killing it man! I know all about life getting in the way. Happens to me all the time. Usually about the time I’m in a really good groove. Work, family, sickness...it’s always something. How’s the keto coming along?

I should say I was never out of the gym. Just have really weird hours when I go. Keto I’m basically doing a 5 on 2 off right now. I go to my girlfriends parents over the weekend to help out. One of her parents is really ill and I’m helping anyway I can. So i eat what they are eating.

I know what you’re going through man. My wife’s step father has stage IV lung cancer and is about at the end of his journey and her real dad is a raging diabetic which has rendered him basically depended on her and her sister for everything. It has wreaked havoc on his legs and feet. So I feel what you’re dealing with man. Hang in there...as tough as it is, it’s the right thing to do!

    Bi’s/Tri’s

    Bi’s

    5 sets straight bb curls

    4 sets incline db curls

    5 sets machine preacher curls

    4 sets db hammer curls

    Tri’s

4 sets rope push downs super set w/ 4 sets overhead cable extensions

4 sets reverse grip push downs super set w/ 4 sets kick backs. Last set, drop x3

Elbows are getting old!! Lol. Finding it difficult to do lying tricep extensions or db extensions anymore. What’s funny is that I can still manage standing French presses without any real difficulty. At 44, I’m WAY stronger than at 21 but my joints complain a lot more now. Always a trade off I suppose. I

I’m basically there for moral support, they have been dealing with it long before I was around. I’m thankful I’ve got to send time with the family in the capacity that I have.

Really?? Question: can you eat stuff like salad greens, green beans, turnip greens, etc., in place of starches?

Started working chest today, managed 4 sets bb inclines, last set drop x3, 4 sets bb flat bench. That was the end of my workout. Pulled something in my mid to upper thoracic region. Foam rolled when I got home from work and that helped. Couldn’t even take a deep breath when it happened. Luckily it seems to have released on its own.

I don’t mind getting injured like that.

My step son is getting married a week from tomorrow and has my schedule all jacked up. I’m ready for a return to normal!
