I'm seriously hoping the discomfort in my biceps is serious fibre damage from today's workout rather than anything more sinister. Sure it is.

Sadly the dumbells at my gym aren't heavy enough for chest pressing work, will start incorporating pre exhaust techniques for upper chest next week.

Ok, so I forced myself to go the the local gym. It was nice to do some different machines:

    Wide grip pulldowns
    Seated row (supported) machine
    T-bar type machine (supported)
    Dumbell rows
Shrug machine. I loaded it up thinking it would be like at home. Negative. Was fvcking heavy but I powered through it.

Shoulder press machine. Liked it. Maxed it out but was nice.
Lateral machine. Don't think I've ever used one. Liked it.
    Rears over bench.

Overall a good workout but damn it had to be almost 80 degrees in there. Ridiculously hot. Anyway, got home, showered and saw some cool arm veins so took a pic for ridicule:

Thanks, big guy! Just.got back from my deep tissue work. She threw me an extra half hour so it ended up lasting 2 hours. Total exquisite pain and joy.
She picked up on the shoulders immediately and spent a good 25-30 minutes just on shoulders, pecs, and traps. Really dug in and scrubbed down into the tissue. Also, did some.serious work on my quads and hammies. Back didn't need as much attention this time although she worked it over quite nicely.
Had a Flexeril and a .5 mg Xanax beforehand and am now as loose as a hussy and as laid back as Tommy Chong. On call for work this weekend, but don't expect to be called. Feeling good, boss, feeling good.

My bicepts are my downfall, the hurt a lot. I found lower my weight on back exercises and just better form with higher reps has eased it up a bit. Do you go heavy on back?

Occasionally will eat them along with a shake if I can't sit down to a real meal. Usually slap some peanut butter on one rice cake, put another rice cake on top of the peanut butter, and make damn sure to have plenty of water handy.

I've realized most masseuses don't focus on pecs. My Chiro also does massage. He told her work his pecs because they were over powering my back at the time. Holy hell it was hellasious heaven. Back actually felt better. Awesome

My biceps are a weak point, always have been. TBH I'm thinking it was the incline dumbell curls. A new exercise with some really good form and a double drop.

Back reps are currently 8-12 but just moved from 5x5. I'll be mixing it up a lot more this year.

    Shoulders done.

So realized with some help from nach, I wasn't squeezing (pinching my blades together) on shrugs. Made a huge difference.

So focused on rears and traps

Smith shrugs 3 warms 1f 2w dd (focusing on squeezing and holding for 3 secs at top) Did a SS of Back then front shrugs here, drops were only on front.

Smith up right rows 3 sets

Seated bent over lateral db raise did 3 sets here same weight, trying to hold at top for as long as I could. down to partials for last set.

EZ bar face pulls 2w ddd

behind the back cable laterals 2w very slow hard reps

DB Press 2f 1w 1d (2f cause I thought I would have to go lighter in weight but working set was 75 for 6 very slow reps pausing at bottom)

Pec/dec 2 sets for burn out.

Please would love a critique here.

Nach was giving me advise on a few movements but need to get to the gym a little earlier to get on that incline bench.

Solid workout. I'll be doing shrugs first per Nacho next week. How did it feel doing them first? I always did them last. Interested in your opinion.

Funny you mention that, while she was scrubbing and stripping away on my pecs, she commented that a lot of her clients just can't tolerate the discomfort even if she backs off of the pressure.
I'm with you, it's a huge f-in relief. I've already made an appointment with her for 90 minutes in 6 weeks and believe I'm just going to stick with a 6 week interval indefinitely.
I was having horrible issues a couple years back with back spasms related to a prior muscle tear. Couldn't even attempt squatting unless it was on my leg press. My Dr. referred me to this young lady that I go to and I'm defo a believer.

I have to say getting a Chiro adjustment and going straight to a massage is awesome. The pecs hurt like hell. Young 80 lb Asian girl hurt me in ways I've never experienced. She had her elbow in my shoulder blade and I could see both her feet 6 inch off the ground. I love her.

I actually loved it. Got a good warm up going. And after the double drop my traps were already fried!!

I'm obviously not going anywhere near nachs weight though lol.

But I think this will be a routine for a few weeks at least.

Seems that way. No clue why except lifestyle I guess. Genetics.

No clue. Baggy clothes and headphones on. They play crappy dance type music. They also have this huge cannister of alcohol wipes and seem to expect people to wipe down everything they use the moment they're done. Ahhhh, no. If I was dripping sweat on it fine, other than that, F no. What I did notice all three times that I've been there is that people can't stay off their phones, ever. Between every set they're on them. Disgusting. And they go from machine to machine with no rhyme or reason. WTF. Rant over. I don't like people anymore.

And one more thing. There wasn't one good looking female in there. Not one. Where's GGR when you need her?

Ugh. Just finished what quite possibly was one of the worst porterhouse steaks I have ever eaten. Pretty sure that cow was drawing Social Security. Had some hickory soaking and was going to fire fire up the grill but the wife wanted me to take it easy so I went out and picked supper from Logan's. LOL, bad decision on my part.
Been chugging water like crazy since my massage and am headed to get horizontal until I wake up to tap a kidney from all of the water intake.
Everyone have a safe, but great, Friday night.
Will probably be up early-ish in the morning.
There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...

Dang. If this was one of your TRT injection days, that would have been perfect. Just walk in, go over to the wipes, select your injection site, pull out vial and pin w/ script, wipe injection site, inject, nod at the trainers and give them a complimentary/patented "go to hell" look, and then just demolish the place.

There had to be about a pound of chicken on this thing.
