I don't think you will forget. When mine get bad I take a Dremel tool to them. I took out a chunk that got caught in a chainfall once and I haven't forgotten since.

Kel, thanks for the phone call. You were right, I had a short length of chain right where you said I left it. It made be a tad too long, if so I will double loop it.

Going to tinker with belt squats here after my supper settles.

I generally use all tools available while training because it protects me and I hope to be able to train until my later years. Never heard knee straps would be bad, not sure what that is based on.

I follow his channel and he likes to think he knows everything. He has like 100 k followers, but he has some good stuff also. And he hates BB and are a nazi powerlifter. But he said kneewraps are a bigger scam than bcaas

I guess a lot depends on your definition of heavy? If you're getting on up there in weight then wraps may be necessary, at least they would be for me.
I don't really go heavy, just run multiple sets of 20 and 7mm knee sleeves work well for me.

Tinkered with belt squats tonight. I like them, it's a different feel and a narrower stance seems to work better for me on these but I use a wider stance for regular back squats. I dunno that's just what feels right so far.
Ended up using quarters so I could get deeper and braced myself off of the bar I had locked in place on my Smith machine.
Nothing heavy duty tonight, just getting the feel for these.

    Crunches - 160
Leg extensions w/sleeves on- 1 set of 50 reps or so to get blood moving
Belt squats - 1 set of 20 getting my feel for these and then 4 sets of 20 @ a heavier weight.

I hate going heavy too, but i lost thighs mass dramaticly this summer. When i cut. And its hard to get them back. So i blind shot is going 6 reps again. Deep. As in the youth. Gotta try something man.

Don't look too shabby to me, Sil. Have you ever tried 20 reps squats? They can it be pretty tough @ 315# to 340#. Stan Efferding does them.in the 405# + range, but it takes you out into what he calls the deep water (a term for putting in some labor intensive work).

As far as actual knee wraps, I may be mistaken, but I believe when Kel was a PL'er , he had an issue with wraps and it wasn't a good issue. Maybe he will see this and post up his thoughts.

I like doing hacks on my angled leg press and then turn around and do reverse hacks.
Really rocks the legs before jumping into leg presses!

Good afternoon from a mid monsoon India. Hot here today, or getting there. Hoping "winter" will set in soon as it will be nice with some cooler weather.

Back from the gym and worked legs. Not restarting CrossFit until Monday and then it will be FULL speed ahead with competition starting in February. We actually ended up at Rank 45 in the Team Competition which is not bad considering we absolutely sucked this year. That does mean we have an actual chance of qualifying next year with some training ahead of time.

    Worked Marcus Leg Routine today:
    Extensions
    Squats
    Curls
    Lunges
Calves from different angles. (Really do not do calves much as they get ridiculous activation in CrossFit almost every session)

Yes sir, they have their own day. Start off with a dry bar, knock off 20 reps, plate/side another 20 reps, 2 plates/side, 20 reps, 3 plates/ side at least one set of 20, sometimes I'll get 2 sets, then a few @ 3 plates and a quarter per side, then back to 2 plates per side.for 20 reps, then a plate/side for 20.

It gives my old raggedy ass heart a good exercise.

Not bad per se, but some will say they rob tendons and ligaments of gaining strength. Just be cautious and don't wrap overly tight. I did that training for a PL meet decades ago and it put me in the hospital for days as it broke veins in my gastroc. I've never wrapped since. I only use neoprene pull-ups for the heat it provides and the minor bit of support.

    And the respect is mutual.

I figured you just put a 454 big block on each shoulder and squatted.

Got a good offer and flipped them for a profit, so I had to start using plates again!!! If y'all ever see me post that I'm loading the 100 pound plates from my leg press onto my squat bar, you will know I have apexed....and probably have a double hernia. ; )
