    I was let go after 29 years at the same company about 2 months ago. No severence. The benefits from unemployment do not even cover my mortgage.
    I am close to getting a job, it’s just things are so slow. Now they are speeding up. 5 interviews in 3 days. 2 more next week already.

    Hang in there, Charger. Once I got my resume online and posted it on Indeed, I got offers and request for phone interviews, etc. It did come in spurts, though. I wouldn't hear anything and then suddenly 4 or 5 calls or emails in a row.
    That blows about the several man, especially with that many years of service. That's one thing I cannot complain about. They treated us more than fair....it was a blessing really.
    Keep me up to date on your interviews, etc. I know how it feels when you're in the dry spells in between prospects.

    I haven’t been working out much in the past few weeks. I’ve had some severe digestive issues for over 2 months finally couldn’t put off dr appt. I finished the antibiotics and continue taking anti-inflammatory meds.

    I’m starting to feel normal except for fatigue. BW indicated low Vit D. Seems this could be the cause of lack of energy and tiredness. I’m going to start taking a multivitamin since I don’t currently.

    Need my groove back!

    Honestly, according to my lab values I responded a good bit better with the Vitamin D oil capsule ( think they use olive oil) vs. the hard multivitamin pills, and I take it with a meal.
    I like the NOW brand Vitamin D,. but I'm sure there are other good brands.

    Multi-vitamins don't have near enough D for you. Buy some cheap D-3 from pretty much anywhere to bring your values up. Most can easily handle 5K per day. Just check your BW to check levels.

    Happy Sunday everyone,

    Good to see the thread picking up speed. Happy Birthday AG and Congratulations on the new job.

    Been down with a stomach bug and high fever since Friday which has been highly inconvenient as I had an event with Kris Gethin scheduled on Friday and we still had four workouts left to do in the Team Competition. Anyhoot, Sunday today and as I felt good enough we showed up at the gym, and I have never seen my workout partner get ready as fast. Apparently having your future wife's dad preach at the church you go to and showing up on time is essential:-)

    Workout 1:
    1-rep-max* each of:
    Deadlift into hang clean into hang clean and jerk. It's a complex; the bar is not allowed to touch the ground.
    *Official weight recorded in pounds
    Time cap: 10 minutes
    SCORE: Both got to 95kg. My technique in Jerk is beyond sucking.

    As we looked at this workout we both thought, oh, this will be easy to complete in time. Who are we kidding? The movement that absolutely killed us was the box step overs. It was insane. 50-times back and forth with a pair of 50lb dumbbells, yeah, my ass is going to hurt tomorrow.

    Workout 2:
    For time:
    30 synchro toes-to-bars
    40 synchro single-arm dumbbell snatches
    50 synchro dumbbell box step-overs
    40 synchro single-arm dumbbell snatches
    30 synchro toes-to-bars

    50-lb. dumbbells, 24-in. box
    Time cap: 15 minutes
    SCORE: 144 reps

    I still struggle with it, but actually it isn't as bad. I drink a glass of 100% grapefruit juice daily... occasionally I'll have 2?
    My HCT seems to be a genetic issue that goes along with the clotting disorder?

    Hi guys,

    Last day of competition an I'll be taking a few days off after this which the picture below will show. What a damn day. We were doing really well and on my second round I completely tore my hands, both of them, and no matter how much I told myself it is in my mind I could not hold the bar. The pain was insane. Anyways, we did what we could and we will be back next year :-)

    Now I'll be back to my original programming.

    I’m starting a new food plan. It’s no sugar of any kind and no flour of any kind.

    I already know that it’s gonna be hard. I don’t drink very often and happen to have an event this week involving alcohol, Halloween party next week and vacation later this month. Trying to come to terms with the approach. I’m always going to have events and opportunities to miss step so I’ve decided to start today.

    I am going to start one month if shredmill treadmill although creator of plan says to no workout until maintenance since I am stressing the body with diet and with working out.

    I’ll see how it goes.

    Well last week I had 5 interviews in 2 days.
    I did receive an offer.... I had a telephone interview one day, on-site the next, and an offer that afternoon. I did not accept because it was about a year working in Tiajuana, Mexico. About an hour and a half drive plus the border wait time, plus the traffic. It was also paying lower than my expectations.
    I have 3 that I have interviewed for that I am awaiting a selection.

    Is it no refined sugar or no sugar period? I think the latter would be really hard to implement. The no flour part isn't too bad. I can't recall the last time we bought flour.....maybe once since the beginning of the year?

    I hate gloves and used Liquid Chalk today. I honest have myself to blame quite a bit for not shaving off calluses and taking better care of them beforehand.

    This question is demonstrating exactly why this happened today. I had completely ignored this for a while and well, the outcome is above. Hope to only make this mistake once but considering my thickheadedness I can not guarantee that.
