I'm using a lever belt as well, and at first it added a ton to my squat and deadlift like you experienced, but then I was so dependent on it I couldn't do jack without it, so I made an effort to bring my lifts up without it. But now it feels so foreign to me I don't know how to get used to it again and keep moving the weight up. I swear it just worked like magic the first time I used one, but now it's going to be like learning a lift over again. Plus I want to maintain some sort of balance so I could still do 5 heavy reps on squat without one, but then for heavy singles have a belt on and be comfortable with the lift still. Most powerlifters almost always wear a belt.

One thing I don't like about the lever belt is I like it tighter for deadlifts than squats, and you basically have one setting on it. Maybe I should buy a less wide deadlift belt since my torso area between hips and ribs is non existant, last night I barely could get down to the bar with the belt on hitting ribs and hip bones so hard.
