    surviving but not thriving!

only good news...I’m down to my lowest weight in 4EVA. Blew past my HS grad weight and the BS number on drivers license lastly the lowest scale number I posted on rigorous training regimen. I’m going towards 3 more pounds to create tight goal posts. Then start working out to lean out a little more...and relax on the scale weight...that scale doesn’t care at that point!!!

    Hi all!

Good leg workout yesterday. Normal stuff but no knee discomfort thanks to the knee injections (Hyaluronic Acid) the past three weeks. Next time I need shots I'll rotate back to Zilretta.

    bike 5 min
Seated leg curls with pause: 3 working 10-12 reps
Vertical Press: 3 working 15 ish reps
Squats: 2 heavier 10-12 reps. Felt good. Good pace with slightly quicker reps. I found myself going so slow to keep the knees in-line that it would cause a hitch in my low back. So, kept a bit of a quicker (or more normal) pace and zero issues.
    Standing and seated calf crap.

Exactly. It's what my ortho suggested and I've got no problem with it. The hyaluronic acid is supposed to last about 6 months but it's a series of weekly injections for 3 weeks in a row. A little bit after the 3rd week I'll start to feel the effect. The other is a newer product that i've done twice so far called Zilretta and it's amazing. It's a long lasting 5ml cortisone shot. The next day it feels like your knees are brand new. Supposed to last about 3 months or so. My first time it lasted about 5 months.

There's talk of cancelling it. I'd like to Shaw come out in number 1, but you've got the Stoltman brothers, and some new blood in the contest.

So many injuries this year...Martin Licis getting hit by a car, Mateusz Kieliszkowski has a triceps injury. Will be an interesting comp if the event happens!!

Been watching snippets. I think the finals will be on TV in December. Wish they'd show the whole event.

Seems like there were a couple of torn biceps this year from what I've read.

It's round 2 here as well. Some states have come up with some really silly guidelines, too.

Experiencing stronger recommendations here too. Emphasizes in this new home of ours is "personal responsibility and empathy towards people working in healthcare." The only "rule" is no gathering over 8 people and it was said yesterday that should not be read as gathering 8 people together because that is the limit is Ok but only if absolutely necessary! We have decided to cancel Thanksgiving and only do it with me, my wife, and my daughter to respect this new regulation. Do not know many people anyway so not a huge deal.

We have a NEW rule at work effective today - second level approval to come into office!

I was informed to report on-site for an award ceremony from headquarters executive. It was approved. lol

Great leg workout yesterday. Non-squat day.

Bike: as I typed this I realized I did not do my normal paltry few minutes on the bike. Oh well.
Seated leg curls: 3 working all with pauses. 12 ish reps. Highly recommend pausing your reps on these. Really helps.
Vertical Press: 3 working, pretty heavy 15 reps. All slow and controled with these old knees.
T Bar squats: 3 working 12-15 reps good pace. These are using my old olympic bar for T bar rows and approaching it from the weight end. Use a D handle pulldown grip under the fat end of the bar and go to town. Basically a belt squat without the belt. Works great for a home gym.
Usual calf crap. About 6 sets standing and seated.

Took a close up relaxed pic post legs yesterday. Not sure if it's neat or gross or a combination of both.

Also, earlier Tuesday I went in to my ortho and got a cortisone shot in my delt. It's been irritating me a while and spoke to him last week about it as it's the same area where I had a tear. He said no tear at all. He wanted me to try Aleve and Ice for a week but i still felt it a bit so got the shot. What's interesting is this guy used ultra sound to guide the needle so he gets the shot exactly where it needs to be without error or poking and hoping like so many do. He showed me the video of it right after and explained it in depth. No shoulder damage just an area of inflammation visible on the UltraSound. Really cool doc, takes the time to talk and explain things and will sit and let me pepper him with questions. He'll soon probably regret that....

I’m still working on the vascularity in my legs to be like yours. I will get there though. You wait and see!

Started core challenge for December. And I’m in my sauna. Cardiovascular program sounds like a workout.
