grammar
This is my last week of HIT for a while. A big thanks to everyone for the know-how, tips, encouragement and inspiration. It has really taken my training to a whole new level.
I've really been bringing the intensity for 12 weeks. I'm bigger and stronger than ever; but the gains are coming slower and I feel pretty beat up. My shoulders are especially worn out. I ended a cycle last week; and while I'm sure my test levels are still as high as ever, I don't feel as strong psychologically.
I'll probably do a couple of weeks of light lifting to kick off PCT and then go back to a Texas Method routine for a couple of months. By September, I'll be ready to jump back into HIT and initiate some amazing growth.
Thanks again to everyone.Last edited by DontTaseMeBro; 04-29-2014 at 09:35 AM. Reason: grammar

What built the muscle will keep the muscle if you need to pullback just lower the intensity, don't understand why you would change a routine when your the biggest and strongest you have ever been, all whats needed is to pullback which means lowering the intensity for a few weeks but still concentrating on stimulating growth just not to failure all the time. 2 weeks is normally fine, its also a very important time when going into pct changing things around for so long while your body is trying to recover can take a drain on your gains, either way best of luck

Thanks, guys. I really can feel that I need to cut the intensity for a bit. I guess I was sort of feelings like changing things up was in order since the gains had been slowing down. I'll take the advice and pull back for a couple of weeks but keep the program the same.
I know I have to keep the nutrition going. I really think that the reason so many people lose gains is that they decide to cut as soon as they finish a cycle and start PCT.
Thanks again for all the help.

So after my issues early last week throwing off my normal schedule, I hit it so hard this weekend I've had to have the last 2 days off. Hobbling around so bad today it's almost like I can feel the DOMS in my femurs, and I love it!

Kel, do women just follow you around everywhere you go? You are seriously in a league of your own. Hope your kid(s) get some of those genes!

They go out to eat on their own and they won't answer my questions.
Thanks BS. If they're following me I'm gonna have to stop and let them catch up. And I was not born with them. I worked my ars off on them when I was starting out. I had the right guidance back then I guess.
Thanks brother! You know I came upon a pic a few months ago from when I was around 19 or so. If I can find it again I'll post it up. Me as a kid posing. Hysterical.Last edited by kelkel; 04-30-2014 at 09:22 AM.

I got a question for you pros regarding lower body.
I can't lift heavy. At all. I have a bad lower back and a bum knee. If I load up more then 225 in the squat rack, I'm usually crippled for a week or more.
What can I do?

You need some form of leg press. I believe you mentioned that you train at home as do I. A few years ago I picked this up and love it. It doesn't take up much room and you don't need all the weight you would for a 45 degree press. With the vertical you use about as much as you squat or so. Mine shown below is a Yukon Brand. Not that expensive and you can put it together yourself in an hour or so.
Also consider some type of support for you knees. Marcus posted a pic on one that he likes (as do I) just a page or two back. Very good support with it.Last edited by kelkel; 04-30-2014 at 09:40 AM.

Was honest with myself today, and came to terms with the fact that I'm not ready to compete just yet. Still have too many weak points at the moment. These thoughts did however fuel my workout today and I murdered my chest!
After warmup it was 1 feel set and 1 working with 1 RP and 1 drop each on incline, decline, and flat hammer strength press. Finished with 1 set of 15 and one dropset to 12 reps on the pec-dec.

So killed legs tonight
Smith squats 330# (pb) for 6
Smith lunges
Stiff dead
Extensions
Leg curls
No calves. My fiance was spent lol...so I gave her a break. Attached two photos. Calves are growing. Veins everywhere even in quads. But pics don't show how well "I think lol" my quads have developed. Pics will be in next post.
Side note too...fitted for tux today for my wedding...girl said they have order my jacket because my shoulders/chest area is so broad and mid section is slim. So kinda took that as a complement lol

Here's a little update. Long story short, I had started powerlifting about 8 months ago. During that time, I let my diet slip. Not in quality of food, just amount. I was still eating wholesome food, just a TON of it. I was probably taking in 5000 calories a day on some days. Cardio was minimal, if at all.
So fast forward, I clearly put on some fat. I've never let myself get that high in bodyfat. And my body let me know that too. Blood pressure was up to 140-150/90 (normally it sits around 110/70) and of course, I started to feel it myself.
So here is where I am at. I got back to my macros and stayed consistent with some low intensity cardio. Of course, I still lifted with high intensity. These pics are 8 weeks apart.
I am trying to cut the fat as slow as I can and hold on to as much muscle as possible. I was toying around with the idea of a 700 Test P and 700 NPP cycle while I was still heavy. Due to blood pressure and bodyfat, I decided to stay on my TRT dose and cut slow. Starting weight was 210. I am sitting at a little over 204-205.

That's ok. Being realistic now is far better than getting on stage and realizing it. Just keep doing what you're doing and you'll know when you're ready.
Or make him pay a cover....
You got some wheels there. Quad's too. I'm impressed. Ton's of potential!

Thanks kel. Love hearing the meat comment because when I'm in a caloric deficit, I feel tiny.
No set weight or bodyfat goal. Going by visual only. I do weigh myself every two weeks, more so to be sure I'm not dropping weight too fast. I think the 5 lbs I lost was the body hair I shaved off.
I still have quite a bit more tattoos to finish. I'm over it. It's now a chore to go get work done. I do it in bunches and then take a break because I get burnt out. I am going to throw a massive "My Tattoos Are Finished!" party when they are done. I can't wait.

Legs today after a weeks vacation:
Extensions: 2 working, 15 reps or so, slow and intense.
Squats: One working set. Moderately heavy weight, 15 reps. Really a good feel in the muscle today.
Vertical Press: Two sets max weight. Think I got 9 reps on each.
Seated Leg Curls: Two sets, 12 reps or so. Slow, controlled.
Calves on Leg Press: Two sets 12-15 slow reps.
Seated: Two sets. Cramped up bad on second and had to stop.
Great workout and will be sore tomorrow (and the next day)Last edited by kelkel; 05-01-2014 at 10:33 AM.

Thanks man. Yeah, I've been getting tattooed about half my life. I started when it was still taboo and associated mainly with bikers, criminals and rebels (I fit in the rebel category). As time has gone on, tattoos are much more accepted by society. It has become a trend. Soccer moms are getting them. So all those years trying to seclude myself from 'normal' society had failed. So I had to up my game and take it a step further to distance myself. Crazy thing is, I still have a lot of black to add.
