it's hard to tell and I agree with what charger said of his pics. He posted others where he had very good vascularity and great separation on thighs, competition ready, but in the pics I have to say that those qualities didn't show. tarmyg got very slick. I have to look carefully, but diesel101 added volume everywhere and tightened up.

We think alike. Let the best man win! To think that Tarm- oh hell Celine -thought there was no way he could win. Same with Diesel.
Once again, everyone is a winner. Some had to deal with very difficult situations and they persevered. Cape, DLP, and Tarzan kept with it despite the health circumstances. Most young guys would have quit. Cape was the most influential to me by a simple statement... you picked this lifestyle and sometimes you need to zig instead of zag (or something like that). I was totally depressed because of an injury and that turned my mindset around. The support that we gave each other was great. I would like to thank everyone!

Figured I'll write-up my experience, might be interesting, might not but here are my 2c.
Previously to this diet that started on January 2, 2018, I had been eating ridiculous amounts of food trying to gain weight. I got stuck at 195# no matter how much I tried to eat chips and cookies. What this did, psychologically, is that it made me tired of eating. I, honestly, could not stand food! This made it so easy to start the diet as not feeling like I was about to barf all the time due to a full stomach was a relief and just made me feel good. The first 8-weeks or so was super easy. I use IF, and Keto combined and dropped weight in a fashion I had not seen before. As my training includes an unusually high amount of cardio the fat was decreasing day by day, and it felt like progress was smooth. At this juncture, almost from one day to the next, I got hungry, and this was when I introduced a cheat day. That helped for 2-weeks in a row, but after that, the cheating was on and off, and I used 40h fasts to keep me on steady levels, and that helped until the last 1 1/2 - 2 weeks when it's been on and off all the time. Still not figured out exactly how to stay at this level but more muscle mass should help as I am, generally speaking, a pretty small guy at 5'8" and 175lb with 10.1% body fat. The most prominent improvement for me has been my conditioning capacity. With lower body fat (weight) I have been able to perform at a higher level this year, and my global ranking is 1000+ better than last year which puts me in the top 88% of the world.
I'm struggling with where to go from here regarding improving body physique which will have the best effect on my performance but I'll figure something out. Already know I am going to struggle to stay at this body fat level, but I am going to try.
One last note: This competition has been beneficial to me. We always talk about life getting in the way, and it is, but most of the time we get stuck in our minds which is why I am not looking even better at this juncture. Seeing, and hearing, the honesty from you fellas on the struggles puts things in perspective and I hope we all succeed in the way we want to, whatever that means to each one of us as individuals.
It's been a pleasure!

Imo,
Improvement is great on all parts. Most improved though in my mind would have to go to the one who could walk on stage and probably win in an comp damn near anywhere.
Improvement is a little more complicated than just losing fat or gaining muscle.
Charger is a bodybuilder. He had a great physique before but he is a champ now.
There is improvement and there is fine tuning. Yes charger was much higher bf and less muscular but he literally showed how bodybuilding is supposed to be done in 12 weeks.
In terms of dramatic improvement other than that Tarzan#2
MS and cape did great!
Not sure what last place is but tarmyg should get it because I don't like him and I think muscularly he had more when he started. He lost some fat but others lost much more fat.Last edited by Obs; 04-01-2018 at 06:23 AM.

Thanks obs, not sure I deserve 2nd, but I agree about charger, he's a beast. I have never had a desire to compete, but I'm starting to consider it. I'm a loooooong way from that, but the motivation would help. I was also gonna suggest we keep this thread going, as a place to for us to continue posting progress pics. Even thought about asking if y'all wanted to have a round two in three months

Great work everyone!
After seeing the comparison photos, I don’t feel so bad. I defiantly didn’t give it my best the last 5 weeks diet wise or I think I could have came in much more lean. I did seem to put on a lot of mass in my legs, which I’m actually very happy about. Going back to a strict Keto diet on Monday. I’m going to pull off that last bit of fat around my abs and love handles and then lean bulk in the fall.“If you can't explain it to a second grader, you probably don't understand it yourself.” Albert Einstein

Cousin has done a great job of organizing. Start and finish pics are in the very first page of the thread.
Good job everyone!

So far, these are the finishers?
Tarmyq,
MS,
Charger,
Guitarzan,
Deisel,
Cape,
and GB?
So of those,
Great job cutting:
MS,
Tarmyg,
Charger.
Special mention:
Guitarzan,
you did an amazing job cutting and perhaps added years of quality living to your life span. In the hoispital where I'm doing rounds, the cancer ward has been converted to hospice. Everyone there is suffering from Heart issues and the majority have congestive heart failure. Most of them have it secondary to diabetes. They are not leaving this world gracefully. I'm happy, for you and your family, that you are going to be avoiding that.
Great job of keeping, and adding, the good amount of muscle with which they started yet cutting a significant amount of BF!
Diesel,
GB,
Cape.
Special mention:
Charger,
Incredible, you started you big but cut really well and added some real nice lines to many parts of your body. Your quads are particularly well defined. They look like they were done on a water-pressure cutting table to a CAD drawing. Micheal Angelo's David looks like a balloon animal in comparison. Nice Work!
You have all done real well. In the cutting group, you now have an efficient nutrient removal system where a storage room used to be. You guys look great. The work is paying off in your appearance, self-esteem, health, and the example you set for family, friends and forum members. In the cut/bulk group, you guys are animals!
Additionally, it is remarkable that you were able to accomplish so much without taking away from each other, but instead, serving as a resource for all. In addition to your discipline, skill and application, you are all due to be commended for the greatness of your leadership and character. Congratulations to all of you.

Obs- a large part of bodybuilding is mental. I have not mastered that outside of the gym yet. Your comments fill this void. Thank you so much. Hopefully I will place high in my first NPC competition. My first competition in the US.
As you can see, I lack the narcissism but not the spirit!
