Tonight was legs for me. One thing I'd like to say but I know I'm probably speaking to the converted but I always neglected legs for years before I got my head in gear but I have to say legs along with proper HIT teaining have helped me burst into a serious window of growth.
From hating leg day to getting excited the day before to the build up of pushing that last rep by mm mm to extreme, from being barely able to move for a few days and the constant feeling of a pump its a serious thrill and high to get into legs that much.
So I did tonight:
Leg press two warm ups with streching inbetween warm ups then racked up as much weight as I could on the press then repped it forba feel set then into failure mode it was intense I dropped all the way down to one plate on either side of the press by the time I finished I couldn't move off the seat.
Then leg extensions and quad raises, only did these because some ape was using the squat rack wrong ie outside of the rack itself idiot and was there for ages nearly lost all my momentum.
Squatted hard and slow tonight did a few feeler sets as I was waiting and wasn't sure how that would affect my lifting. This was instense, I did a marcus on it ears were ringing.
Squats are really clickin for me lately it was unreal great workout

About a year ago, I noticed that my teeth were hurting like hell. Dentist told me that I was probably grinding my teeth while lifting. Didn't even realize it. Got a mouthpiece and the pain went away. I only wore it for a couple months. I've since learned to keep my mouth slightly open while doing things like squats. Just train yourself to stop this habit.

I rarely see him. He stays pretty low off season and I believe he is done doing shows. i have never seen him with out a full set of abs that show. Then he cuts for 3 months and gets some serious abs and vascularity. Entering pa school at 35.
I was guessing on the weight. Cause i saw him at about 10% and he was happy cause he was still 255 I believe.
He is 6' 6'1

After talking with him. I understand more about marcus and kel talking about being too heavy. He has gotten to 270 and said he was miserable and couldn't breathe not to mention eating all day long.

I just read this article and it got me thinking.
http://www.ironmanmagazine.com/are-y...-annihilating/
On the surface, it sounds like the total opposite of what Marcus and Kel have been teaching us. But then I wonder whether some of the different principles can be combined or modified.
Thoughts?

I do believe in pre exhaust to help with reducing the weight needed to stimulate new muscle tissue but if I was to train like what is mentioned in that article I wouldn't grow. All I say is you should try many different ways to train and give it at least 3-6 months and log you results, if your growing then there is no need to change keep with it and adapt it more to suit but if your using a certain routine and your not growing then you need to change it. Not everyone responds the same that's why Lee trained like he did and Dorian trained like he did, obviously there is more risk of injuries when your using methods what really put strain on your muscles etc but I guess its all down to how you grow.
You shouldn't train like ive mentioned in this thread all the time you should back off the intensity and use different methods for a few weeks to help fully repair and then you can build up again for the brutal attack. Remember there isn't one way of training what suits everyone, try different methods and use what works if a combination works for you stick with it. From my experience over the years of trying every single training protocol out there, there is only one way my body builds thick dense big muscle bellies and that's constantly putting myself under serious overload and training to failure, and ive adapted HIT training to my own little style and that's how ive maintained, grown and built over 250lbs.
Try different routines, see what works and listen to your body and work with it. There isn't one way what suits us all its all about what you got to do to your body to make it grow and to reach your goals on how you want to look. I'm a size monster I love size and thts the only way ive achieved the look ive got but I am not saying this is the only way, try for yourself and see what works.

So let me see if I understand. What you're saying Marcus, is that if I train hard, get adequate rest, and follow a nutritional plan where I'm eating more than my tdee I can stimulate muscle growth? This seems too simple to me, there has to be a catch. I've been reading in the Q and A and the consensus seems that there is a magic pill on can take to get huge. Now you say diet and training?

Def man, bring your camera I'll show you the crazy landscapes we have. I think being angry after a crap workout is a sign that training is more than just something to do its in your blood.
Tomorrow morning is cardio and arms. For the first time ever I think I can safely say I'm excited for cardio lol which means I've got it bad. Been an epic coulevof weeks in the gym its all clicking into place from were I started

i feel 'bigger'... looking in the mirror i dont see much difference.. but i do feel kinda bigger and t-shirts are a lil tighter.. idk maybe just getting fatter lol...
maybe its just the 'pump' my whole body is still sore from this weeks assault... got a few extra reps in somehow that i wouldn't normally get... + increased weight on most exercises too..
starting my diet again sorta... well not exactly a diet, just avoiding junk food, and no carbs before bed, etc.. as i can't stick to calorie controlled diets.. can't control my appetite lol...

Chest yesterday. I typed it all out then went to hit send last night... Accidentally jhit cancel so oh well lol. Less than an hour. Pecs were quivering when I left. Uncontrollable spasms from just being absolutely fatigued. Its what I always shoot for lately.
Shoulders tonight. Less than 40 minutes. Delts are shaking while I hold my phone. I can barely hold it. Fat-igued!
2 warm ups. Smith. Behind the head press.
2 working, real heavy. 1 front one behind.
4 drops. Reached complete failure. I could not do one more rep with just 95lbs at the end.
Rear delts. Seated dumbbells.
1 feeler. 2 work sets. 2 drops. Total failure again. Ended with 15lb db's and couldn't even cheat one more.
Side delts. 1 feeler. 2 workimg. 1 seated, 1 standing. 2 drops. Total failure.
Front delts. 2 working sets. 1 seated, 1 standing. 1 drop. Total failure.
Side.low cable raises. 2 work sets. Light. This is perfect form slow up, slower down. Did some forced negatives.
I'm burnt. Can't raise my arms hardly with no weights in my hands. Hard to lift my keys. Even harder to keep my hands on the wheel. Loving it.

It happens slowly and I can only speak for myself but I know I have a skewed view of my own size. I always feel skinny but people keep telling me I'm getting huge. I don't see it but either I'm crazy or everyone else is. I vote me. I have the clothes problem too. Even my pants barely fit lately. Not the waist. The legs. My jeans are starting to get tight around my legs. Shirts. I had to start buying xxl because the xl that I wore last year are too tight and I feel stupid wearing them. Like I'm some kind of 70's disco porn star. All I need is some bushy chest hair coming out the button area at the top and I'm set!
Stayin alive.
The point is youbprobably are.getting a lot bigger. you just don't see it.

This morning was cardio and arms. Feeling fat tbh, I think its a sign from my body to take it handy next week then go for another burst. Gym partner was saying I dont look bad but I feel fat round middle, not sure if it is from the sheer quantity of food or liquid I've intaked from yesterday as I was saying I was constantly scavanging.
