Started powerlifting again, right up until I partially tore my left bicep and decimated the medial head of my bicep. Right up until the injury I had a 630# DL, 525# Squat and 415# Bench. Now I'm dealing with a systematic tendon issue. It started when I was washing my hair and my arms locked into place. The tendons in my forearms/biceps were firing as hard as they could. They locked into a flexed position and I had to work one out and then use my other arm and pull the other one down. Now that has also been happening to my pecs and abs as well (the abs are freaky and hurt. it feels like they flip up under themselves). Obviously I'm going to rest for at least a week and assess from there. I'm hoping its just overworked, something I did and not anything worse. They randomly fire throughout the day, doing normal activites (ie, bending, reaching, etc.) Anyone ever experience anything like this before?
congrats on the marriage and child

sorry to hear about the injury problems wooow sounds like you need to rest and recover and look at what's your best options to getting this fully healed.

pullback legs - it was hell because decided to go with higher rep range and take it easy but didn't work out like that

    single leg extension

    3 warm up sets
    1 working set

    leg press
    2 feel sets
    2 working sets

    seat leg curls
    2 working sets

    stiff leg dead lifts
    2 working sets

    leg press calve raises
    3 sets

    seated calve raises
    3 sets

Really hit me in the lungs and the higher rep range really got some burn going, felt different and once I felt that pain come into the muscle I carried on and on. Felt good but didn't feel well afterwards.

    all good now

    QUESTIONAIRE FOR MY FELLOW hit'ERS

1, WHAT MAKES YOU THE PERSON YOU ARE?

2 WHAT DRIVES YOU TO LIVE YOUR LIFE LIKE YOU DO?

3 WHAT AMBITIONS ARE YOU HOPING TO ACHIEVE?

4 WOULD YOU CLASS YOURSELF AS A GOOD PERSON?

    5, HAPPINESS OR MONEY?

6, WORSE MISTAKE OR REGRET YOU HAVE DONE?

please no other answers just list the numbers with your answers please, I am curious because we all have a good idea what kind of person each of us portray on here but deep down who are we.

Lets through this out there if you want to take part in my questionnaire

please answer honestly and no one will question your answers, if you don't want to take part no worries.

    I'm curious

Great call doing this last night, thanks. I feel much better this morning. I felt some tenderness in my lower rib cage last night which a though was strange. Hurt to sleep on it and it more pronounced this morning, but I don't think it will effect my workout. We'll see.

    1. I guess life experience. Kids also alter your outlook on life.

    2. Again..... Kids. I have two girls so oh ace to be big lol. I've ALWAYS wanted to be big. I was screwing around in our basement gym when I was 13 but never had the discipline or real drive until I graduated high school. The desire was always there tho.

    3. To be the biggest motherfvcker I can be. That my ambition. I want to step on stage and cause a stir. I want the judges to ask "who is that and where did he come from!?"

    4. 100% yes. Maybe not 10 years ago..... But I try to do the best I can to help someone daily. No matter how small a deed it may be.

    5. I'm inclined to say happiness because I've gone without money for a LONG time lol. Between jobs and life occurrences I haven't had it "easy" but I've managed to find happiness at home. No matter what..... I have that and no one can take it away. Unless she's secretly shallow and leaves for a guy with more money. Then all that good deed shit will go out the window and I'll murder the fvck haha.

    6. That's tough.... I regret not taking bodybuilding more serious years ago when I was younger. I also regret letting life situations get to me.... It led down a shitty path and definitely did not do anything to better myself.

LOL, I thought Saturday morning haircuts was a Southern tradition. I learned something new.
I had plans for a haircut this morning but my haircut lady stayed out too late last night so we rescheduled for next Saturday.

    1. Passion, ambition, love, fear, things I've done right, and things I've done wrong.

    2. I work extremely hard to give my family the best possible life. The love I have for them is the biggest driver for me. One of the only selfish things I do these days is bodybuilding, and seeing results and progress makes me hungry for more.

    3. Put both daughters through college and continue to guide them through life (with the understanding I need to let go at some point), and to make a lifetime of memories with my wife. And have a lot of sex along the way. That too.

    4. I can look myself in the mirror and say yes. Similar to Haz, I struggled with myself many years ago and was not a great husband. We got married when we were 21 and already had a baby, so we both had some serious growing up to do. We went through serious ups and downs, and we were so lucky to be able to find each other again.

    5. Happiness, without question. What is anything without happiness? And I want the same for my daughters as well. I used to think I wanted them to find wealthy husbands down the road, but now I realize I don't care if they're wealthy or not as long as they're happy. I would rather them marry someone poor and who's faithful to them, than marry someone rich and who cheats on them, drinks, or hits them. Now, if they find both, awesome!

    6. Not realizing how fast time moves on.

I'm always in there every other Saturday morning if at all possible. that's hilarious about your hc lady. Well, you definitely don't want her near your hair with clippers when hung over!

I don't want to be Avg... I love reaping the rewards for the work I put in... Having my life taken from me b4, wanting to be better than anyone else!
3 WHAT AMBITIONS ARE YOU HOPING TO ACHIEVE?
True happiness!(have always been the one to second guess myself)... Become a FVKING MONSTER... To make $$$ off my body... putting the best all around package together(one where im comfortable, happy, not angry, and am just reaping the rewards from everything on a positive level, Period! Wishing I took my diet/and had found this thread yrs ago- this thread has taught me so much about life relationships and of course lifting!

Absolutely! Id give the shirt off my back for anyone! Sometimes I feel im too nice - been taken advantage of
    5, HAPPINESS OR MONEY?
Happiness!!! I've struggled with this for yrs - I've never had a lot of money so true happiness is it for me

My past! I've gone down a path I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy! Not thinking I could do this type of training w/the injuries I have sustained... Not taking my diet seriously when younger, or training for that matter(now that I know what it takes to turn heads)!

please no other answers just list the numbers with your answers please, I am curious because we all have a good idea what kind of person each of us portray on here but deep down who are we.

Lets through this out there if you want to take part in my questionnaire

1). The way my mother raised me. She taught me that stubbornness tempered with judgement is a strength, not a personality flaw. Also, she taught me to treat everyone with respect until they gave me reason to do otherwise. Other than that, I guess I am the sum.of my life experiences?

2). I want to always be improving at what I do; whether it be professionally or as a person.

3). I aspire to be the best provider I can for my wife and my mastiffs. I also want to be one of those guys people look at and their jaws drop. Not to be a badass or perceived as a dangerous man, but because it would be a nice addition to my very laidback personality.

4). Not necessarily a good person, but a person trying to do good/what is right.

    5). Happiness.

6). Not being there for a friend from my active duty days when he needed some serious help.

Hey Big Man how long do you rest in between sets/ excises?

    I'm curious
1: my wife, my baby on the way, and my parents.

2: for work, I wanna be the best at what I do, end if month I compare myself to the rest, find the areas I'm not...and fix them to the next month so I am the best.

As for body building life, it's the want to be bigger. Until I was mid 20s I was never over 155-160. Always the skinny kid. Now I "turn some heads" not as many as here but enough to keep me going lol

3: to give my kid a better life then I had.

4: presently yes, although I dwell on younger years where I wasnt.

5: happiness without a doubt. I've never wanted the expensive clothes, the nicest cars.

6: without detail, my past (high school and couple years after). I regret not doing what I know was right and not just what "friends" were doing.

    D'bell shoulder press- 2 w/u, Work1,-5+,drop,1+,drop,3+,drop,1+. Work2- 4+ reps.
Seated side lateral- 2 w/u with d'bells instead of cables since I was pushed for time. Work1- 3+,drop,1+,drop,3+ and (4)- 1/4 reps. Work2-3+ reps with a 10 count hold on partials.
    D'bell rear lateral-2 w/u, Work-7+,drop,2+,drop,4+ with a 10 count hold on last partial.

D'bells shrugs from the side- running a bit short on time, so instead of running dropsets, I grabbed the 70s and repped to failure- 6+ reps.

    32 very intense, painful minutes.
Whew!! I'm exhausted just reading this!
