I’m still bummed. I can’t squat shit still and tried deadlifts this morning. I can only do pussy weight. I am going to work at this until I get back to the weight I was using. It is just taking way too long.

Yes, any heavy lifting, even bench, irritates a injured back

Yes I also recommend at least 2 cheat meals every day until it heals or at least for 7 days.

I have said this before but it is impressive the condition and improvements that have been made by everyone in the last month.
Especially when you figure in the age of everyone in this comp. I am sure a lot of young people have no idea what the big deal is but when you look around at the condition of the average 40 something year old it is impressive how you guys look.

    Keep up the good work!

Fucking second doctor in a few days has now said I am "overweight" due to BMI and then look at my weight loss since August and tell me I am losing weight to fast. Really? 261 to 219 and I am healthy. It is called working your ass off at the gym and watching your diet. Both doctors did not look like they could walk up two flights of stairs or do 10 push-ups either.

No. I don’t know what happened. I do dead’s every week. Today something wasn’t lined up I guess.

I guess I am going through manopause. Just depressed lately. I can’t squat heavy, I can’t deadlift crap, I am finding out that there is more to the picture than I first thought from AI’s to exercises. I find out from my kinesiologist that I am doing a lot of exercises that I shouldn’t be doing because of the fusion in my back.
Yeah I’m trying to keep on track to compete in May but this is frustrating. The day after the competition last year I started preparing for this year. I am dieting all year long and take cheat meals maybe once every couple of months. I started NPP for the first time and I really cannot say how good or bad it is because of the injury. I’m trying recomp for the first time and everything is going fine and the next thing I know, I’m losing weight. Every year it is getting harder and harder with injuries. Luckily they are just temporary set backs but they are setbacks.

Sorry guys. No one understands why I do what I do except you guys. I just had to vent to feel better. I let things build up inside too much.

I can guarantee your light lifts are better than 95% of the guys your age. Let things heal and don't push it but it does suck when you cant go all in on your lifts. The last doctor I went to for my back gave me the best advice he told me my back will let me know what I can and cant do. He said to remember that I wasn't 20 anymore and modify my lifting to work with my back issues.
I will be honest I haven't did deads or squats in 6 years.
I go through a mini menopause every few months and know exactly what you are going through. I look at most of my fat ass out of shape friends and that pulls me out of it quickly.

I have friends ask the same thing all the time "who are you trying to impress" I tell them the same thing I do it for me not for anyone else. There is nothing more satisfying than looking in the mirror and thinking "FUCK YEAH that's why".

I know it’s tough. Hell I finally got dialed in and injured myself today. We have limitations now...it seems. We just need to find a way to work around them. Don’t ask me how because I don’t know. But it’s the lifestyle we choose so we figure it out. We keep moving forward. We just may have to zig now instead of zag.

You are 1000% right! I needed those words of wisdom to pull my head out of my ass and start to figure it out rather than accept defeat. I will. I always have.

    Legzzzz today

    Warmup: calisthenics, stair stepper

    6 sets leg press
    4 sets Squatz
    4 sets SLDL
    4 sets toe raises
    3 sets single leg curl
    6 sets leg Ext

Groin still really bothers when lifting anything more that 185 on squats. Trying all different kinds of leg positions and variations. Just have to keep up with the slow and tedious process of letting it heal.

    Weight was 203.5 this morning.

Why only one exercise for the hams? Do you work the glutes separate?
