    Ate 4,213 calories today.

    375g carbs 35%, 128g fat 27%, 391g protein 37%

Still need to find a way to get the fat down a bit I think. Not too worried about it at the moment. It may be good to follow off cycle actually to maintain size and then adjust as I begin to prime a few months down the road.

    thoughts?

squats are one of the best leg exercises there are, can't see any reason why anyone shouldn't do them except for injuries...

Just monitor yourself over the next 10-14 days at your new cals and adjust accordingly.

If you're able to then absolutely do squats. I'll often switch up the compound movement between squate and leg presses week over week.

I'm about the same around 6 to 8 weeks I will take a pullback and drop the intensity. Very wise thing to do

Yes you should implement them and see how you go. For some guys squatting just doesn't suit them but you should throw them in to see how things go.

XL are starting to be too tight on me too but xxl is too long I know exactly what you mean haz. I like my.shirts to be a little loose fitting. I think the avg xxl is made for the avg extra extra large person: 42" chest, 55" waist. May be time for you to start getting custom tailored clothes, beastie.

Marcus, I have noticing that since I have been getting to HIT I have suffered a few muscle strains that have caused me to take a day of two off from training, which pisses me off. I had a bad next strain that had swell up but went away, and now a forearm strain. I know it's hard for you to tell having never seen me workout but could that be a result of myself lifting too heavy and my body is not strong enough for it yet or should not I incorporate the advance techniques yet and just concentrate on working to failure until i get a bit stronger. I know injuries play a roll in lifting and age as well( i am 44) but i hate when injuries keep me out of the gym. Lose progression when out, in my opinion. Thoughts.

Hey big.. quick thoughts on this. Keep in mind that HIT training is indeed an advanced training technique that can be hard on the body. If you're continuously suffering injuries, it is probably your body telling you that its not accepting that level of intensity yet, and if I were you, I would consider taking a couple steps back and working your way up with regard to the technique and the intensity behind your training sessions.

Hey Bigg, I'm not Marcus but being 43 I might have some insight. Some days for any given body part I have to warm up a little more before I start hitting the heavy weights. On my first exercise I will do 3 or 4 lighter sets to get the blood flowing to the muscles and joints and then go into my feel set and working set. Being older it takes some time to get the body ready for the heavy sets. I've never seen you train but maybe your trying to use more weight than you should. Watching Dorians blood and guts made me realize lifting heavy doesn't mean you have to sacrifice form. If you watch him he never contorts his body or breaks form even on his last few reps. His movements are fluid the whole set. Concentrate on the muscle your working and the contraction not moving the weight and you can use a lighter weight and still fall in the6 to 12 rep range. This has helped me a lot the last year and I've had less strains and joint problems. Hope this helps Bigg.

Thanks Java. I'd love to get into the 230s like you. I appreciate it man.

Right now I modified a Westside Barbell routine and added a little more for hypertrophy.

As for the ink, my right arm was close to 5k. Other than that, I've refused to count. I love it, but not exactly a great return on investment.

I'm taller than you therefore 'lanky-er'. You already look thicker than me and youre not far under 230 anyways. You'll be there this year I'll bet.

Thanks. I've been getting into powerlifting as of late and would like to do my first meet in the next 6 months.

But my goals have always been more size. I was 125 lbs. when I first started lifting, although that was some time ago.

Many years ago I use to train twice per day I did this for around 1 year I would train in the mornings and late afternoons, in-between I would eat and sleep and do little of anything else. I gained an enormous amount of muscle tissue in such a short time but I was also doing really heavy short burst cycles with high dose growth hormone . Recently i am thinking of doing this again when time permits which would work out at around 3 days. Not sure if my body could still take the pounding but i was wondering if anyone else has done this or even considered it? Ive not done this for around 15-17 yrs so it would be very hard on my system but i am thinking of doing some bulking and i am sure i can fit this around my lifestyle.
