morning clarky and everyone else.
had complete rest day yesterday as a consequence of family life happening, lots (too much social food, junk etc) so today as I was all carbed up and swollen from all the trash intake yesterday, I went and killed the missed chest workout including my todays back workout. PUMP was amazing, felt amazing, felt bigger, endurance seem to come back with some extra strength, as added one extra set of each - 10kg on back cable rows and 10kg on flat bench press, all Im awaiting is for tomorrow and next workout!
have a great day/amazing weekend everybody!

AG, Clarky, thanks youngsters! AG, not really into the astrology thing, but coincidentally many of the wife an my best friends tend to be libras. Over here we just have one big collective birthday dinner.
Nice sleep, great coffee.
IM, same as you - life got in the way of my workout yesterday - totally unavoidable, going to make up for it today.
Amazing how long the DOMS can last with HIT. Still feeling my workouts from the beginning of last week.
I see a pile of papers to grade, time to get moving.
Good morning all - have great ones!Last edited by Proximal; 09-25-2016 at 09:24 AM.

This guy's name is Rob Riches. He's a physique competitor and fitness model. His abdominal videos are the best I've come across. He explains why, the correct way and the incorrect way to train abs and obliques.

Hey fellas, I wanted to share my recent feelings or lack there of...
Do you guys fight with yourself to make it tithe gym? Do you ever feel like not going?
Well it's been a good week that be been feeling this way. I've tried to see if it's b:c things are hurting more... Nope - still the same ole stuff. I finally feel relieved that I'm not letting my job, at a gym, and someone here said you can always be working in or even own a gym if that's what you really want! Why has this had an effect on my life so much?? Sure I love it but recently have had some things to attend to and the process of it(had a few friends die recently).
I know I can talk to everyone I need to buy something about getting it out here and resetting has been a great thing for myself to have realized - I know we all have our problems and this one is very minute to a real ball buster of a problem / really I just got a little soft for my liking and stressed out regarding what My gym wanted and I just needed to nip in the bud.... and though I have been in the gym I know I'll be much better moving forward as the gym seemed it wanted my body to train a certain way(when I love HIT and got to where I am from it) and I would've gotten hurt much worse than b4 or my longevity would have really suffered - as I'll know more about that as I get older...
Eating everything today and going full bore HIT for the next 6 wks If body can make it and if so keep going... I know I can make some damn good progress in the last 6-7wks - Excited!
Thanks for listening and sorry for ranting

Think we all have spells like that, Nach. Especially if we have other stressors at that time. Once you get in a disgusted/demotivated mindset, the trick is to break that mindset, IMO. It's easier said than done, but that seems to be the key to handling the situation for me.
When you're sad or beat down, the easiest thing is to get sadder. However, the best thing is to try to adjust your mindset. There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...

Hey man that stinks life isn't going well at the moment.
Everyone goes through peaks and valleys.
Sounds like you need to reevaluate your short term goals so that you can see yourself making some progress.
Like Morgan Freeman's character said in Shawshank, you either get busy living or you get busy dieing.

We all have motivational issues, and life happening all around us. If you dont feel like training, or you cant due to whatever, you can always train the next day. Its even OK to skip a week every now and then, as long as you know in the back of your head that it was YOUR decision to do it.
The weights will still be there tomorrow, or next week

So update on wife.
Friday was surgery and got to hospital around 8ish. Scheduled 1130am and 4 hour procedure.
They finally took here at 136. Her dad works there and told me to leave. I left for 30 mins to eat lunch and got nervous I would not be there if something happened and was back at the hospital by 245. Lol.
Half the hospital knows her dad so we had people go the extra step for us. But I didn't hear anything about the surgery until about 630ish. They said he was finishing up and it went well.
We'll by 730 still nothing. 830 ish out of surgery and 930 ish they snuck me into recovery to see her.
It was hard to control the pain at first but once they got on a schedule she was ok.
First night she said couldn't feel left foot. He came by and said probably swelling. Saturday numbness and feeling still there. So he orders a cat scan. We do not hear anything from him until nurse comes in about 6 hours later saying he wants a mri. (This time I'm freaking out). But it's like 730pm on Saturday and figure we wouldn't hear back from him.
They tell us sunday, that docs don't make their rounds until afternoon. So after I got her breakfast I got out of there and hit the gym (killed arms) and if course while I'm there docs sees her. He was afraid he needed to go back in and fix the screws. But thank God mri was gtg.
And now we are home. They gave her prednisone, flexirl, and Vicodin (which I think isn't enough...the vics but will wait and see)
She's walking around and doing well. In pain but not dying of it.
Thanks for the support fellas.

@nach. Yes it happens. I just recovered from loss of mojo. I had to fight thru it. Sometimes there's a conversation with myself. LoL. Yelling and kicking at times. I know I will feel better afterwards....but it's not always easy. And if it was, everyone would be doing it!

Nah, just my usual protein drink with peanut butter, banana and ice cream.
Plenty of days I don't feel like working out. Those usually end up being the days I have a great workout. When you least expect it I guess!
When it comes to getting older, just refuse. Works for me so far.
