I agree as I want to know exactly how much or how little the actual muscle is damaged. The report they did do surely shows decades of wear and tear:

    ***************

EXAM: MRI RIGHT KNEE WITHOUT CONTRAST

HISTORY: Right knee pain after injury 2 days prior. Evaluate biceps femoris attachment.

    TECHNIQUE: Routine knee MRI protocol.

    COMPARISON: None available.

FINDINGS: There is free edge radial and horizontal oblique undersurface tearing of the body and posterior horn medial meniscus. There is subluxation of the mid body. There is a small attached meniscal fragment extending from the posterior horn toward the intercondylar notch, best visualized on images 20 and 21 of series 6. The lateral meniscus is intact.

The anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments, medial and lateral collateral ligaments are intact. There is mild tendinopathy of the distal biceps femoris tendon. There is tendinopathy of the distal quadriceps tendon.

There is cartilage thinning and fissuring in the medial compartments. There is mild cartilage fissuring in the patellofemoral compartment. There is a trace knee joint effusion and a small popliteal cyst.

    IMPRESSION:
    1. FREE EDGE RADIAL AND HORIZONTAL OBLIQUE UNDERSURFACE TEARING OF THE BODY AND POSTERIOR HORN MEDIAL MENISCUS WITH SMALL ATTACHED MENISCAL FRAGMENT AS DESCRIBED.

    2. MILD CARTILAGE THINNING AND FISSURING IN THE MEDIAL AND PATELLOFEMORAL COMPARTMENTS.

    3. TENDINOPATHY OF THE DISTAL QUADRICEPS TENDON.

    4. MILD TENDINOPATHY OF THE DISTAL BICEPS FEMORIS TENDON. NO TENDON TEAR IS IDENTIFIED.
Thank you for the opportunity to participate in the care of this patient.

Feel good I guess, all things considered. Kinda hyper-sensitive to any odd feeling right now. Basically constantly thinking what's going to tear next kinda thoughts.
You should go back some pages (couple weeks) and see the before and after pics I posted of it. Worth looking at imho.

Therapist was talking the other day that I may be better off just not doing leg curls anymore and sticking to stiff leg deadlifts for direct ham work, adding that I'll get secondary ham work from compound quad work anyway. I'm fine with that as long as it keeps this from occurring again as it sucks big time. For years before I had a seated curl machine all I did for legs was squats and stiffs.

Likely torn medial meniscus. Aspirated fluid, steroid injection, no workouts for 3 days, modified workouts 3 weeks - elliptical, cycling; walking. No lower weight bearing lifts. Reevaluate during next 3 months or sooner with mri/surgery based on response to injection.

Good news is bones very healthy - no signs of arthritis, degenerative joints except smaller gap on right (related to college sports injury - ligament/tendon) likely contributing to discomfort with meniscus AND reason to avoid surgery!!!

Ortho did comment on platform boots while observing walking...wearing heels as indicator of pain level. My reply - flats are not an option; there are none in my closet. I consider this exchange expectation setting. Lol

I know exactly what you mean. Pretty sure Mrs. AG over medicated me this past week and installed a GPS chip. Meant to post up about it, but forgot to do so.

Hi fellas/ladies, i did bi's the day. Went ok wee bit pain in the forearm, never had time for tri's.

Standing db curls 2 sets drop 2 set

Incline db curls 2 sets DD

Db preacher 2 sets on left 3 on right plus 3 neg

    Cable curls 2 sets

    Db Wrist curls 2 sets

Done, again all sets 8ish -10 reps at the start then dropping to 6 ish.
No bicep pain at all, just the right forearm, left bi is smaller than the left since injury so trying to sort this also.

Same here, Clarky. The damaged nerve crapped up my shoulder and left arm. Shoulder is recovering, but the left bicep atrophied, particularly the inner head. We'll get there though.

This is from Thursday night, should be working legs tonight before work. Still feel bad about posting these lifts up but have to work things as best as I can until my left shoulder and arm is right.
Went as heavy as I could w/ the injury and dropped weight in between working sets w/ a very brief rest in between.

    Broomstick and wall stretches
Incline flyes into presses - 3 w/u, Work1- 7 flyes, 5 presses. Work 2 - 5 flyes, 4 presses. Work 3 - 5 flyes, 4 presses. I did gain a few reps on the first set vs. last chest lift, so that's something. Again, I think the shoulder is slowly getting better, but the left arm is still somewhat tits up.
Incline press w/ parallel grip - Work - 7 reps.
    Flat flyes into presses - 2 w/u, Work 1- 9 flyes, 4 presses. Work 2- 11 flyes, 4+ presses. Work 3- 11 flyes, 5 presses w/ a very slow 10 count neg. on last rep
Wrist curls w/ dry Oly bar - palms up and palms down to failure superset with:
Seated hammer curls - Work -/12 reps, drop, 5 reps, drop, 14+ reps, and 12 neg. only reps with the wimpy left arm.

    43 minutes.

Going to relax for a bit today and ditch some blood later on. We just got last season's Game of Thrones DVD box set. ( I'm anti Blu-Ray because my DVD players still work and my eyes can't tell the difference). So going to kick back with Mrs. AG and watch a bit of GoT.
Think I have a hangnail, I may take a half of a Dr. prescribed Flexeril?

Nice, Clarky. Think I am dedicating some of my tax refund next year to get some more work done. Probably more Doré stuff like I have now....basically devils, skulls, and burning dead sh!t.

Nice! Legs for me tonight as well. Debating on lightly wrapping my left thigh with an elastic bandage or may just take it as it goes and see what is required.

On a side note, I put 2 younger maintenance guys and 1 young production tech to shame yesterday and I felt good about it. All 3 of them had a 36" adjustable wrench with a piece of pipe for leverage and were sliding around trying to manhandle breaking loose a nozzle from a heater barrel on an injection molder. I stood there watching for a minute, shook my head, and asked them "May I"?. They laughed and said " Sure thing, old man".
I got the wrench locked on the flats of the nozzle, handed the pipe to them, put my back against a nearby I-beam, and pressed out to arms length and then bent forward at the waist a tad, and it popped loose with a loud crack.
I handed the wrench back to them, told them that's how someone with intelligence does it, and walked off leaving them there with their jaws hanging. Heard one of them say " I'd hate to piss that old fvcker off".
    Made my day.

morning fellas and GGR(which is nice to see you back - hope you heal up quickly Girl!)

feeling pretty well - shoulder a little stiff when i awoke but i did hit delts/traps yesterday very intense and just didnt stop moving added in some cardio - just walking on steepest incline briskly) plus walked to and from gym so i counted that as cardio too lol

seated side laterals - holding at top for 2-3 sec each rep
    w/u's
2w DD 8-10 range except drops(4-6 on drops) not true HIT but using same concepts just adding more reps - mind feels real strong atm

    - rear delts - lying facing incline w/DB's s/s'd bent over rear delt retractions(just using rear delts to pinch shoulder blades together) used the low handle on seated shrug machine
4w w/DB's + other movement(its a small movement but man did it burn)

    - cable front raises s/s'd with Tea Cup raises(just open up DB at very end of movement)
    2w 3 drops - 1w 2 drops

rev pec dec - just right arm
    3w high reps 15-20

    - floor MP presses on smith - these were hard and figured since i cant press heavy atm or in that plane hit em w/10-12 reps w/a CG
3w no more than 30 sec rest for straight sets throughout + between s/s's keeps intensity as high as i can atm

    shrugs
    DB's
    2w till grip failed
    Behind back smith
    2w until grip failed

cardio and done - delts took 25-30 min grueling and gasping but good stuff

    so fellas and Girly

just an update: They really want me to get this shoulder replaced - spoke to doc yesterday and even though he thinks with my activity level i should still get it done... problem is id be getting it replaced again within 5 yrs wtf!! IMHO i dont think its worth it at this time and think i should wait as long as i possibly can - i couldnt imagine doing that probly 3 times when the recovery is that extensive(at least 1-1.5 yrs each replacement) my uncle got his done same initial injury we both had yet it took him over a yr to start to feel right?

Tbh, its all relevent to the pain if i can handle it which has been over 17 yrs now then i will... if it gets to the point where nothing is working ill consider - not gonna go the Pain killer route thats for sure

    so thats that lol

I hear on the "feeling like your gonna tear something else feeling" it truly does get to your head!

ill definitely go back and see what you mentioned - and i love stiffs best thing for the hams imho

glad to hear your hanging in there - as Girly stated at least its all temporary at this point!!

I got my fingers crossed and prayers said, Nach. No, you don't want it in his blood, particularly if there are any clots. Bacteremia is a very rough fight.

My brother had 6 or 7 shoulder repairs from bullriding and finally found the right guy.
Last Surgeon cut bone blocks off his pelvis and screwed them into his shoulder to lock it in. He tied it in with an achilles tendon (donated tissue).
Brother has no range of motion othher than the ability to hold onto a bull rope and jack off but the doctor said if it comes out of place again his arm will probably come off from the force lol.

damn sounds real painful... talking about bone coming from another place that would likely be a route they'll need to go at some point if i chose to start this process early... i just cant imagine not lifting at all - its my escape as well as relief of many - anxiety/stress/depression you name it...

ive got some of the best docs at my disposal from here to Cali so if and when i go this route(which will surely be at some point) ill defo be doing lots of research which ive started already... i spoke to a BBer and he had one done and hes on the sauce and says hes so glad he did it - regarding work im getting into welding I gotta grant from disability and in the mean time im going back to NDT(Non-Destructive Testing/Examinination) Quality Assurance/Quality Control in power plants and refineries/Inspection of piping - X-Raying welds taking profile pics etc looking for erosion/corrosion of anything and there are various levels(3) I was a level 2 w/many certs so i shouldnt have a problem starting at decent hrly rate either - just working on my workers license gotta be able to drive if your a Radiographer.

The thing my brother said that got the surgeon to actually listen was that he would ride until he died and if the doctor kept doing the same shit he would be back next year or before because he was gonna ride. He told him he didnt want a shoulder repair but a custom built shoulder.

The surgeon drew it up but said my brother would be back inside a year wanting it reversed because of the constant pain it would cause. It hurts but he doesnt seem to care as long as he can stick his hand in the rope handle.

A guy like you that is dedicated to lifting could probably get a build that would last if it was made for the suited purpose. The sucky thing is the stronger the rebuild is, the more pain and limited range of motion you get. Not sure how well that would work for bb'ing. I would think overhead press and inclines would be out of the question.

Hope you get better. I hope I can forego injury man, it would destroy me. I am a pussy about watching myself shrink. Last time I shrank I just about turned myself off because I couldn't bear looking at myself.

Just pure shallow vanity and weakness but I couldn't take it. You have done amazing with all your injuries.
If I do get hurt, I will try to keep you in mind when I get depressed.

Also, my brother and others have told me if you ever need a hip replacement dont let them talk you out of it. Him and others told me they wished they had done it immediately rather than wait around because the doc said, "you are too young".

Brother has had a couple dozen surgeries off different injuries. He is my expert crash dummy.
Wild ass cunt. Every year or two we have to explain to him what happened in ICU when he wakes up.

Got rid of a pint and as half of ketchup yesterday afternoon and feel better. Decided it might be better to rest up until coming to work and hit legs Sunday night.
