It’s so hard in social settings! If restaurant offers trace sugar Kombucha or La Croix I ask for served in wine glass and toss in lime slice. Summer is rough starting with Cinco de Maya...
A bestie held a NEWYear party in a green house and I arrived tad early. She was busy with photographer so I offered to great everyone, jackets, lay of land and direct to opening cosmo and hors d’oeuvres.
I met every guest, didn’t have to deal with unneeded food and empty calories...
So hard....

Been twice and two specialists within the past month. haven’t had sick (sinus or cold) for 3 years. Lots of cardio related screening last year. NOTHING.
modified diet (super clean) and nails are stronger then ever. I’m needing some blood work done soon. I’m wondering if I need to adjust or remove meds? Theres bit of stress running in background...

Stress does amazing things. Surprised the doctors haven’t considered about the meds. Thyroid issues? Asking the wife right now (she’s still a PT). Any pain?

Thanks for your concern. Seeing that doc in a couple weeks and will ask about med adjustments. He runs panels quite frequently.
Thyroid in range but not optimal. Thyroid always sluggish! Same doc and i “dance” quite a bit about my thyroid. Lol. He calls me “Dr Google”. Lol.
No pain!

Thought you may find this interesting. I've had cholesterol issues for years and have been on a non-statin for maybe a decade. Total cholesterol is good, just my HDL is always low and LDL a little high. Triglycerides are great. Anyway, he still does not see a need for a statin, which is good. So, I asked him what can we do next to make sure all is ok on the inside, what test can be done.
He wrote me a script for a Cardiac CT for Calcium Scoring test. It checks the arteries around the heart for plaque build up and will help determine if further treatment (meds, etc) is warranted. Doc said insurance doesn't cover it, which makes zero sense as it would save them money long term, but it's a cheap test. I called my local screening facility and made the appointment for tomorrow. Total cost $85 bucks. Look forward to see the results of this. Very interesting imho. Just trying to be proactive.

Side note. Knees still feel incredible since the Zilretta injections. Feel like they're brand new. Gonna suck when it wears off.....

Good thinking kel, we never know what is going on in the inside. Great about the knees.
I had bed tennis elbow on my right elbow about 2 years ago or so, i seen the doc at the hospital and he gave me a cortisone injection in joint.
Worked a treat no pain at all at the gym or work, i get a phone call from the hospital about one month ago asking if i wanted to go back and see the doc. I was supposed to go back and see him about 12 month after but they never got in contact, so anyway i said no as i am fine still no pain, so she said so will i take you off the waiting list yes i said.
So guess what, yip, starting to get pain again hahaha could not fucking make it up. It lasted a lot longer that he suggested so i was chuffed at that, he can only give max three injection he said.

Kel thanks for the heart scan info, will be interested to see how you do.
Clarky, the Scottish phrases were cool as hell, need to hear them in their native tongue. BTW switch hands from time to time to take stress off the forearm, just saying.
Not a big foreign film fan, but have to say “Parasite” kicked ass.
GGR, hope you’re holding out.
AG, what’s up man, you ok? Let’s start posting some metal. There’s this Indian band called Bloodywood that’s getting more & more play.
In a deep workout funk that I better climb out of myself. My bilirubin has my doc concerned, so laying off of the fun stuff and digging the milk thistle. I’m not yellow, so that’s a good thing.

^^^^ I'm alive, Prox! Work is ridiculously demanding, but I think it will stabilize soon.
Kel, I'm liking the idea of that calcium scoring scan and may speak with my Dr. at the next appointment. You know I'm an information junky regarding that stuff. There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...

Had it done this morning AG. Little 10 minute process other than paperwork. Should have results in a few days which I'll post up, good or bad. I also just ordered some Amla Powder off of Amazon to see if it will help with my pathetic HDL. Read below:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3326920/
And sitting in the waiting room I observed several really great looking nurses running around. Naturally for my procedure I got the hairy middle aged guy. This Irish shit ain't working.

Took my first spoonful today after lunch. Tried to mix it with a few oz's of iced tea. Wow. Tastes bad not not as bad as RYR Powder. Gotta stir the hell out of it to get it to mix. Also of note, as I don't think I mentioned it anywhere, I've been taking K-2 at 90 mcg's per day for about two years now which helps with calcium deposits as well.
CT report/score should be available Monday so we'll see if I pass or fail.

For preventive reasons, CS test, echocardiogram, stress test, abdominal ultrasound (looking for potential thinning - aneurysms). First I had to find a cardiologist. Lol. I had never had any cardiac screenings even for annual physical which are a joke really. Tap on knee for reflexes and feel my ankles for cankles crap...spare me.
CS w/IV was comfortably warm inside w/MRI. It was just a few minutes. I don’t recall that being inexpensive and age was a consideration.
abdominal ultrasound was interesting - deep pressure and annoying cold gel. Started to feel nauseous from pressure of ultrasound head for 30 minutes. NOT.A.FAN. This was covered bc cardiologist made special notations.
After all the tests...all clear....All my cardio bunny days Kel...more than a flight of stairs.
really need Zilretta...trick knee w/torn meniscus is esp when run then hurts for months. I need to go back to ortho for cortisone again.

Why are you enduring a torn meniscus GGR? Worlds easiest surgery (ok, slight exaggeration, but orthopedic wise, kinda is).

I’m traumatized by that video! Why is there an enormous penis heading my way?

Oh it was torn - ortho took off the fluid w/blood and gave me 2 cortisone shots. I’ve not been regular with exercise and did shredmill treadmill hit and re injured on Jan 1st when met besties to kickoff new year of fitness...was wearing the compression brace for a bit bc hurt. Feeling a tad better but sat on deep sofa with my legs curled under and when pulled the right leg out twisted it funny and dang thing grumpy again.
Been kinda busy.....and ortho bedside manners are a bit abrasive...super young tall skinny - genetically tall and skinny. He tells me to loose weight after leaving my GYN who examines me naked and says...dang you are in top 1% of my patients...keep doing what you are doing. Srsly!?!!!
I think surgery may be a little more. college sports injury and knee will “slip out of joint” periodically. Esp lateral movements - racket ball - downhill skiing - I put it back in place by sitting on bent knee and shifting it back into position. When it goes out, can’t straighten it. This is sounding worst then seems!!!
And it’s not “healing” as fast and my . Sometimes have more pain in on stairs with heels and that dude suggested I take off the heels...srsly...who SAYS that....to ME?!!

A couple of things GGR. First & foremost, if something is keeping you off your 👠 - that’s a huge negative; period, end of story, done!
Meniscus typically don’t heal due to horrible blood supply. Plus did I mention, you can’t wear 👠 because of the pain, NOT cool.
Your weight has no relevance to meniscal injuries, your torn meniscus does though, and that’s keeping you from wearing 👠, NOT cool.
It’s not that I really care if you wear 👠, I just want you to feel better .
Just kinda curious, are we talking 4” and taller? Sorry, long day, a touch too much wine, please forgive me.

Update:
GP called me last night with results. When a doc calls you in the evening on your cell you immediately think problem. Anyway, my calcium score was 62. I was pleasantly surprised as I was expecting much higher due to lifestyle - AAS, no cardio, shit ton of food, etc. Here's a scoring chart:
CAD = coronary artery disease:
Calcium Score Presence of CAD 0 No evidence of CAD 1-10 Minimal evidence of CAD 11-100 Mild evidence of CAD 101-400 Moderate evidence of CAD Over 400 Extensive evidence of CAD
Doc basically said I'm pretty normal for my age and at my score treatment with a statin would be my choice. His suggestion is to do nothing and retest in a year. After all my recent reading on this I agree with that assessment. I'm also curious what effect the MK-7 (K-2) may have had on this score, but without a baseline I'll never know. I've also read that several Cardiac Associations recommend no treatment until the score is over 100.
The actual report (CT pics/video etc) is not available to me on line until Monday. If there's anything educational that I can post from it I'll try and do so. Anyway, I'm quite happy with this result. I was expecting much worse.
