I have a reoccurring dream around 3 am that I have to pee urgently and am desperately looking for a toilet (never can find a useable one). 2 nights ago, I did find one and in my dream let out a massive pee. I was honestly shocked that when I woke up the bed was not soaked.

LOL, not sure you would sleep through this, Kel. You might, but it's fairly energizing. It's difficult for me to describe. It's not really painful, more like slight discomfort. But once she gets the tissue warmed up and moving freely, the blood flow kicks in and it's almost like a really good pump, but all the aches, knots, and pains go away..
My "old man" strategy on not peeing on the massage table is don't drink a lot of fluids on the way into town and I hit the restroom right before my appointment. Now afterwards, I really put away some water and I usually have to tap a kidney in the way home.
Generally I kill 2 birds with one stone....I hit a Publix grocery, get rid of the fluid, and pick up a loaf of cranberry walnut bread for the wife. It's a modest plan, but solid.
Edit: She was impressed at how well my scar healed up; even the neurosurgeon, and my PCP was impressed. I just told them to Google "transverse friction massage", it's a thing. Under my breath, I mumbling Serostim doesn't hurt, either.Last edited by almostgone; 02-10-2022 at 05:37 PM.

Has anyone heard from Clarky? I know he was staying super busy with work.

I could never fall asleep during deep tissue massage. I too need and love the discomfort. I’ve had a few painful moments but I know it’s needed plus unlike Kelkel, I do have high tolerance for pain!
Interesting comment on Serostim. I didn’t realized helps with scarring. Interesting.

On workout front there isn’t much except the daily core challenge and 5,000 steps walking the dog. Plus an occasional bike ride on beach which is my favorite after work.
I need to get back to regular workouts…even if at home. I’m better for it and know that! That is my focus for March!

Thanks guys and thanks kel. You’ve always served as an inspiration when I’m feeling like my time is almost up. Just a matter of calibrating, listening to your body, and executing consistently to your capacity.
All is well here my man, having fun with life, fam and career are great and trying to live slow these days. Hope you guys are good too.

AG, hope the HAW is good. My pup is getting old now about to be 15 and isn’t doing too well. We’re not ready yet but started talking about his quality of life and low long we’re willing to keep it going like this. I remember you went though the same thing if I recall correctly. Pretty tough but he’s had a really great life so just need to come to terms pretty soon

Yeah man, it's a hard discussion, but a necessary one. Our pets give us so much love without asking for anything in return. Helping them ease off to sleep when it is that time is the least we can do .
I know it sounds crazy, but I usually burn a few days of vacation when the time comes. One day is totally devoted to spending the maximum amount of time with them that we can and then a day or two afterwards just to process everything. There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...

We lost Maximus last weekend. It was awful. We probably should’ve let him go 3–4 months ago, but selfishly, none of us were ready, we’ve had to help him up and deal with a lot the past few months, but he was at the point all of a sudden where he couldn’t stay up on his own and would fall after a step or two. He wasn’t eating much the last few days, and was shaking a lot, clearly suffering. We took him in on Saturday and ended up coming home without him.
He was always my first thought in the morning as my morning routine included him forever, taking him out, playing for a bit, he’d be there as I made meal 1 and talked through my plan for the day. He was truly my best friend. It’s been a tough week, the girls have been mess. They were 4 and 8 when we got him, and they’re now 19 and 24 so he’s been with us the majority of their lives. He was truly family, truly all of our best friend and we’re just so grateful to have had him with us the last 15 years.
I’m completely crushed but he had an amazing life. The beauty in life only has its value because its temporary. That’s how I want to look at it.
I think dogs are better than us, which is why their time is shorter. Anything permanent or longer lasting may be taken for granted. That’s why it’s so beautiful. They teach us so much if you let them.
I’m not big on posting on social medial but needed somewhere to memorialize these thoughts. I know this isn’t fitness related but it’s the first familiar thread I saw when I open up the app. I’m thankful I know I can always turn here for that and appreciate the space here to get this out.
Hope everyone is doing well.
On a fitness related note, I’m officially in prep this week for a show end of October. 15 weeks out. Wish me luck!!
