Ill say this..... Before my daughter was born I started feeling "not normal" almost like I wanted to feel normal again. The attention, the constant eating, the needles, the ancillaries..... I just wanted to have a normal routine.

But once I had a normal routine..... I wanted to be a freak again lol. I have no desire to feel any other way..... The bigger the better

I think about this. My thought is that, human nature will guide me toward happiness and contentment, because I want to be happy. I will, however, always remember and long for that feeling once again when my time is up in this game.

I have a ways to go before then.

I haven't been doing this for as long as some, but I think feeling like 100 men becomes the new normal. Anything less and you feel less than normal. I just wonder at what age mother nature finally takes over? Some guys can keep it going into their 70's. Hope I'm one of them

Exactly!! I've poured concrete footings and walls for 20 years. In my twenties I could handle the stress at work and still lift naturally. In my thirties I couldn't handle it anymore and only lifted in the winter. In my late thirties I started test and am bigger, feel better and am lifting harder than ever. I'm never looking back!

    The attention is also great!!!

Glad you liked it. Different can be good, especially for certain body parts that always seem to get worked "second" compared to the larger parts. It's not something I do all the time but it's a nice change of pace and doesn't tire you out for chest at all.

There's really nothing to post. Normal exercises for gastroc and soleus. Always both in workouts for me. Couple sets of each, occasional drops and RP's and I train them heavy with moderate reps. I do not believe in high reps for calves. They get high reps all day walking around. Main thing is I always prioritized them and worked them as hard as everything else from day one. Most don't do that then have to play catch up. Most people can't honestly say they work calves as hard as chest, arms, etc. That is the difference imho.

    Test is king

Test is all I really need. Other compounds are great for certain things but I wouldn't give test up for anything.

I used to drop my test down to let the other compounds do the work but after deciding to try keeping my test up..... I won't go back. For me its like test amplifies everything.

So it's time to stop that. Prioritize them brother and they will have no option but to grow. Nothing better than great calves in the summer.

I am man. twice a week, first in the workouts. But honestly I have been keeping my reps high, I think I need to lower the reps and increase the weights. I just want to get a good contraction and keep from using so much momentum...but to use the muscle. My calves are sore today so I know I did something.

Cheers. Yeah i've been reading a lot of the more recent pages and started reading from the start since Marcus recommended it. Will take me forever to get through but it's a good read. Some good long write ups in the last 20 or so pages on training and getting in the right mental zone.

Ok as for workout i did arms yesterday.

    Bi's -

Bar curls - 2 feel sets and one working finished with negative reps after failure
(Not sure exact name of this exercise but it's kinda like preacher curls but with dumbbells) - 2 feel, 1 working with rest pause sets after i failed
Seated dumbbell curl - same thing 2 feel, 1 working done with drop sets

    Forearms -

reverse curls - 2 feel and 1 working finished with rest pause
Hammer curls - 2 feel and one working. Finished off by alternating arms instead of both at a time then just did a couple of rest pauses.

    Tri's

Close grip bench - 2 feel and one working with negatives to finish ( This owned my tri's)
Skull crush's - 2 feel and one working with rest pause sets after i failed
rope pulldowns - same again 2 feel and one working with dropsets.

Then i just smashed out some dips for fun. Started with 20 kg and worked down until i couldn't do my bodyweight.

Tried to use a weight on my working sets where my total reps didnt exceed 12 including the drop sets like i've seen recommended here. I also dropped the weight a bit from what i've been using and focused on form and contraction a lot more.

Best arm workout in a logn time and my biceps are on fire this morning. Leg's today as well. Lookign forward to it.

Just wondering besides the way you attack your working sets what other differences do you implement in your HIT training style that differs from your "average" training method? I.e do you have shorter breaks between sets and stuff like that?
    Huh
    What is 'breaks'?

Read this entire thread, start to finish. If you do that, you'll understand HIT.

Now, most guys occasionally do lunges (or should,) just normally the dumbell type pacing back and forth or standing still. I, for one, look like a retard doing these. A drunk retard at that. I have to worry more about not falling over than anything else which makes the overall effort suffer. Plus it sucks carrying the dumbells around my messy dungeon. So, when you have the time, give these a try. I've spoken about them a long time ago but thought I'd bring them up again as I rarely see guys post that they do lunges. I do them at the end of a workout when fatigued.

Set up in your smith with the bar high on your traps.
You want to place your forward foot farther out than you would for a squat. The goal is to not have the knee extend over the foot during the motion.
Your back foot can be either stretched far back or kept a bit closer where your knee will bend to a 90 degree angle. You're choice. Experiment.
This is the position you stay in until all reps are done for this leg. Obviously repeat with the other leg, then rest.
No balance issues and the focus is intense on the leg being worked. You can fry quads, hams and glutes if done correctly.
I don't do RP or drops on these and tend toward higher reps.

Just wanted to share. Give them a try if you haven't and report back please. Great change of pace.
I do lunges with DB occasionally but never like this. Uk give a try.

Good to have you back. Now go shoot that bastard in the right hand so he can't sign any more contracts. If he's left handed, shoot his left. If youre unsure, shoot both.

Conclusion? Or is it still undecided? I'd say no. one cannot be superman for 25y then just be normal and not notice the contrast. After enough time passes I'm sure the memories.fade of how it feels to be on but it seems there would always be the nagging feeling that something is missing.

I think after doing this for so long..... ESPECIALLY being a competitor, you get to a point where you have nothing left to prove. Atleast that's what was told to me by a high level retired competitor and a former training partner of mr. Rich gaspari. He has trophies lining his basement and tons of pictures from shows - he says his health is more important now and he could care less about walking around huge. Now..... He's still fairly big lol but not like when he was competing.

    Just another point of view
