I haven't been doing this for as long as some, but I think feeling like 100 men becomes the new normal. Anything less and you feel less than normal. I just wonder at what age mother nature finally takes over? Some guys can keep it going into their 70's. Hope I'm one of them

Exactly!! I've poured concrete footings and walls for 20 years. In my twenties I could handle the stress at work and still lift naturally. In my thirties I couldn't handle it anymore and only lifted in the winter. In my late thirties I started test and am bigger, feel better and am lifting harder than ever. I'm never looking back!
The attention is also great!!!

I was just following KELs suggestion as I've seen it through out this thread. I wanted to try something different. And to answer your question Kel - I liked it because I felt I could give 100% on biceps. I'm normally pretty tired after chest.

There's really nothing to post. Normal exercises for gastroc and soleus. Always both in workouts for me. Couple sets of each, occasional drops and RP's and I train them heavy with moderate reps. I do not believe in high reps for calves. They get high reps all day walking around. Main thing is I always prioritized them and worked them as hard as everything else from day one. Most don't do that then have to play catch up. Most people can't honestly say they work calves as hard as chest, arms, etc. That is the difference imho.

Well I love hearing you guys talking about how TEst makes you feel. I am a true virgin who is about to get his cherry popped at 44. Wondering how I am really gonna feel

I used to drop my test down to let the other compounds do the work but after deciding to try keeping my test up..... I won't go back. For me its like test amplifies everything.

I agree with haz. I like to let test take the lead.

I am man. twice a week, first in the workouts. But honestly I have been keeping my reps high, I think I need to lower the reps and increase the weights. I just want to get a good contraction and keep from using so much momentum...but to use the muscle. My calves are sore today so I know I did something.

Cheers. Yeah i've been reading a lot of the more recent pages and started reading from the start since Marcus recommended it. Will take me forever to get through but it's a good read. Some good long write ups in the last 20 or so pages on training and getting in the right mental zone.
Ok as for workout i did arms yesterday.
Bi's -
Bar curls - 2 feel sets and one working finished with negative reps after failure
(Not sure exact name of this exercise but it's kinda like preacher curls but with dumbbells) - 2 feel, 1 working with rest pause sets after i failed
Seated dumbbell curl - same thing 2 feel, 1 working done with drop sets
Forearms -
reverse curls - 2 feel and 1 working finished with rest pause
Hammer curls - 2 feel and one working. Finished off by alternating arms instead of both at a time then just did a couple of rest pauses.
Tri's
Close grip bench - 2 feel and one working with negatives to finish ( This owned my tri's)
Skull crush's - 2 feel and one working with rest pause sets after i failed
rope pulldowns - same again 2 feel and one working with dropsets.
Then i just smashed out some dips for fun. Started with 20 kg and worked down until i couldn't do my bodyweight.
Tried to use a weight on my working sets where my total reps didnt exceed 12 including the drop sets like i've seen recommended here. I also dropped the weight a bit from what i've been using and focused on form and contraction a lot more.
Best arm workout in a logn time and my biceps are on fire this morning. Leg's today as well. Lookign forward to it.Last edited by NotTheSame; 12-06-2013 at 04:09 PM.

Conclusion? Or is it still undecided? I'd say no. one cannot be superman for 25y then just be normal and not notice the contrast. After enough time passes I'm sure the memories.fade of how it feels to be on but it seems there would always be the nagging feeling that something is missing.

I think after doing this for so long..... ESPECIALLY being a competitor, you get to a point where you have nothing left to prove. Atleast that's what was told to me by a high level retired competitor and a former training partner of mr. Rich gaspari. He has trophies lining his basement and tons of pictures from shows - he says his health is more important now and he could care less about walking around huge. Now..... He's still fairly big lol but not like when he was competing.
Just another point of view
