Monday morning's 4:00 a.m. leg session is still kicking my ass. I like it! Back to the usual third shift routine tonight and if I can get some sleep arms are on the agenda this evening.
Took in extra calories via some pizza yesterday evening and my guts paid the price. Back to regular food today. Just finished up 1.5 cans of tuna and some whole grain seashell pasta w/ just a splash or watered down Italian dressing, walked out to the road and grabbed my mail.
Maybe watch a little IFSA or WSM and then crashing out for a while.
Heat indices are 100+ °F again today. Total humidity as well. You could grow rice in a gravel driveway right now. There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...

Hi guys,GGR.
Did bi's and tri's the night good session.
Incline db curls 1 working DD
Db preacher 1 working 1 drop 3 neg a side
Db hammer 1 working 1 drop
Wrist curls 2 sets.
Tri pd 3 sets s bar
Tri pd 3 sets v bar
Behind head tri ex 2 sets s bar
Behind head tri ex 2 sets v bar
Done.
All sets were between 8-12 reps and stack.
Weird, got a good sore niggle just off centre of the forearm. The left hand side off centre. I get it when lifing or doing curls but not preacher curls. ??

I get this, too, Carky.... Almost feels like shin splints in your forearms(if we're talking about similar pain)
Hey guys just gonna share what's been frustrating me recently after this procedure... I know stressing is the worst thing so...
Well my incision now looks to be popping out another open wound... I haven't done anything stressful on it yet as I was supposed to start today and was checking it out closely(not there's no pain) but what I'm worried about is possibly(by sweating so much - infection again) especially since the area is very prone and stretched out(the skin) which makes it hard to close... This is exactly what happened in my first procedure which needed multiple repairs...
I go in to see the surgeons assistant tomorrow so he can look and give me the yay or bay of lifting yet, but also have another appointment in 7 days w/the surgeon!
I was just so pumped to start gack up - and it'll happen I know that - but it's been a loooong 2+ months of being out
I just needed to get this off my chest - thx for being a sound board guys, & GGR

Man, going from third shift to working day shift really screwed my sleep up, but it is shot day this morning and should have most of my lab values today as well. I just need to verify that I don't need to have my potassium levels checked again, and then I should be able to supplement just a tad.

In case this pertained to me:
Powerhouse Gym - Los Angeles. We have men & women that compete in bodybuilding and assumably powerlifting by looking at the weights used daily. Last week watched someone do somewhat of an HIT routine on bench: started with five 45 pound & one 25 pound plate on each side and stripped plates as he descended down - looks like a lineman, about 6'7" ish, gotta be over 300.
You have an impressive physique, but very honestly, there are dozens of members that are bigger as well as more cut. As far as the woman I was sharing a machine with, I'd be willing to bet, head to toe, pound for pound, most members would say her physique is more impressive (size, symmetry and definition). Not joking and not trying to offend, she is a specimen.
If this didn't pertain to me, qualifies under reasons for not posting before the morning's coffee after a f'ed up nights sleep.Last edited by Proximal; 07-06-2016 at 08:35 AM. Reason: Addition

Ok guys and dolls, blood work is looking better in the CBC dep't. I know I've mentioned it before, but years back when I had all of the cardiomyopathy/enlarged heart/10-15% ejection fraction/biventricular pacemaker/bacteremia issues, and was throwing clots, genetic testing showed that I have a clotting disorder know a Factor V Leiden. The hematologist/oncologist ordered an assload of tests and Factor V Leiden was the only issue. The polycythemia I suffer with is just part of my natural charm .
I have always had high hematocrit values even as a teenager and have struggled with it but think I am finally making some headway. My last HCT was 55.9% and my hemoglobin was 18.7 g/dL. So, I decided to try to work off of some info in Nelson Vergel's book about the volume of blood required to lower HCT by "x" percentage. I was self bleeding, but found a cute sympathetic phlebotomist to help me and after a double RBC about 10 weeks ago and draining off almost 2 pints on the side about a month ago, my hematocrit came back today @ 49.8%, which I consider to be out-fvcking standing. ( I started TRT @ 52.8% and was on no hormones, no cycling for years, like around 7-8, I think).
Also, during the time since I started TRT, my Dr. switched me from monthly (I know horrible) to every 2 weeks ( ok, we are up to the B&W era of TRT now) to weekly injections (now we're up to color TVs and LEDs), which probably helped as well. Now, I will be pulling regular CBCs and keeping up with it, because some guys overdo blood donations/blood letting, but maybe I'm finally going to get control of this and be able to mildly cycle/blast without blowing out the left side of my heart. .
My hemoglobin is still just a smidge high, but lower than before and I'm not going to sweat it for now. On a scale of 13.7 - 16.7 g/dL, my hemoglobin was 17.3 g/dL, so that's fvcking good news to me.
Will be seeing my Dr. in October and will be going w/ self injection then unless she and I decide to switch to Aveed. If I go with self injections, I plan to split my 100mg of cyp weekly up into 50 mg E3D, and then do some comprehensive testing on my own that I will present to my Dr. in the future (Kel, if you have time, I will defo have a couple of questions prior to ordering my tests).
My Dr. has actually been learning/discussing with me and has been fairly decent about working with different protocols than the the standard 200mg of cyp every 3-4 weeks that the old farts around here seem stuck on. LOL, at one point she was talking about how testosterone can convert to E and said "I know you don't believe me, none of my other patients seem to". I just responded that sure it does, via the aromatase enzyme and she gave me a fist bump and we have had absolutely ZERO communication problems.
I know we don't really use total T as a reference for treatment, but use free T instead. However, just to point out the difference of going from 200 mg per month to 200 mg every 2 weeks to 100 mg weekly made:
On once/month schedule of 200mg injections of Depo-test and testing @ 8:00 a.m prior to my shot. Total T = 178 ng/dL.
On 2 week schedule of 200mg injections and testing @ 8:00 a.m just prior to my shot: Total T= 478 ng/dL
On a weekly schedule of 100mg injections and testing @ 8:a.m. just prior to my shot: Total T = 661 ng/dL.
Anyway, next Dr. appointment is Oct., so I think a small 4 week test prop and low dose var blast will start tonight.
Also, this has been about a 18-24 month journey since I was fortunate enough to find a Dr. to address my TRT needs, so I feel kind of like I have reached a milestone. ( I've had several Dr.and endo consults that I paid for out of pocket prior to becoming a patient of my current Dr. and as soon as they did the usual cursory exam and saw the scar from the pacemaker removal, TRT was out of the question with them).
The only downer to the 100mg of DepoTest injections is that the nurse draws mine from the DepoTest for females, which is 100 mg/ml. Kind of emasculating.Last edited by almostgone; 07-06-2016 at 10:20 PM. Reason: corrected a few typos...

Nice AG! Curious, are the cardiac issues you mentioned initially all cleared or still an issue? Enjoy the new LED TV (yes I'm aware it's a metaphor )!

So what's up guys and gals.
Been around for just haven't posted workouts recently.
Have had some good ones too.
Feeling small though. But trying to time out my prime for next blast...
Hit legs today, have done them 2 weeks in a row now after few months of not doing them.
My legs used to be one of my stronger parts and I hate to lose it. And figured I already know I need to fix the knee, and it really "cant" get any worse at this point lol.
So tried to stay light but mind plays tricks on me and kept adding weight. Last week I did pretty exhaust and I think I should stick to that.
Today's was
Reverse vs quat
Smith squats
Extensions (funny they said no squats or lunges but these extensions is the only time I really feel any pain in the knee)
Lying curls
Seated curls
Seated cavles.
Last week couldn't walk right for a good 5 days, so let's see how today and rest of week goes.
Hope everyone is well here.
Keep killing it

There are still some lingering issues, but EF is > 45% and I was fully cleared to lift years ago, just have to make sure to always breathe during a lift. The clotting disorder will always be there (coumadin, etc. don't work on me at all), the LBBB has improved somewhat, so I just try to be smart and manage it and do my best to keep on growing.

Morning all! Just back from some fasting cardio & abs, really trying to lock in 110% mentally, haven't been lately.
Finished a book yesterday, it's been around a while - Ellington Darden's "The New High Intensity Training". Nice flash-back to Aurthur Jones & some nice Mentzer info. I forgot about when a young Casey Viator started appearing in mags, hadn't seen pics of him since the 70's - what a beast!
Hope all is well with each of you and you all have great days!
-
Just checkin in
Went to see the surgeons assistant - she says it looks good yet this is what most all of the other docs thought too my first few procedures - my stomach has already re-opened in the same spot and is infected still draining/& discharging throughout the day -- no pain I want to lift soooo bad but they keep pushing it back...
What does anyone think about me going to the gym??
I'm getting very very annoyed/irritated/& stressed the heck out!
Anyway I hope you all have a great day!

The docs simply must feel comfortable to clear you. But here is an idea taken from lower back patients returning to physical labor - how about some sort of abdominal/trunk brace, almost like a girdle in a way. Has to come with the assurance that you are going to restrict stress through the area at all costs, so lifting would have to be light, perhaps machines only. But again, just can't see this without MD approval.

Man there are sooo many hands in the pie on that stuff, it's crazy. You know how it is, the imaging place gets paid for use of equipment, the radiologist that interprets it gets their cut, and then the Dr. reads you what the radiology report says and there's another charge.
When I had all of the crazy stuff going on, I just waited to make sure the insurance had processed and paid whatever they were going to pay, then called up all of the places sending me bills and worked out a payment plan. I honestly think they are happy if you even make an effort to pay even a small amount weekly/monthly/whatever.There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...
