Pre exhaust my shoulders again this morning

    lateral raises with db's
    rear delts on machine
    smith machine shoulder press
    shrugs and some abs

All done to failure with some drops, didn't manage drops all the time, but on pressing and shrugs I took them to the max. Shoulders felt good and very pumps but my weights were down due to training triceps yesterday at home but stimulated my delts hard.

My chest and delts are suffering and shrinking due to the injury, I grow and maintain by heavy intense work and on chest I just cant take myself to the zone due to the injury and what would happen if I did, so ive been doing some volume on my chest a lot of massage but there are loads of knots on my delts and chest what need some deep tissue massage to break them down. My lady hasn't the strength or body weight to do it properly she has to stand on my shoulders with her heal and massage it because she cant get deep enough with her hands and knuckles lol....

Years of this kind of training are really hitting me hard now, will just have to train around it and do my best on my other body parts.

Chad how's the shoulder? It's been a couple days since your shot and I'm wondering how it feels? My shoulder's been bothering me and I'm considering the same thing...

A bit of a hitch in my shoulder. Been coming on for a while. I've been pro-active with it, dmso, nsaid's, pre-exhaust, etc., but like you, I still beat myself to death. So, I'm just considering options. Not a fan of cortisone but I don't want it to get to the point of prolotherapy again.

Took yesterday off from legs as my knee was a little tender as well. Figured maybe I'll hit them today but think I'll just skip them this week (I'll live) and rest them up. Always something hurting, dammit!

I've never bought into that and never will. I won't let you either.
Just emailed my doc to see who "he" would go to if he needed one. I may go visit my chiropractor where I used to live first. He does limbs and is incredible. Matter of fact, that's exactly what I'm going to do. He was the one who fixed my knee after all sorts of therapy did not years and years ago. He's very up on bodybuilding and used to work backstage at some large shows helping competitors with any med issues they may have.

    There's a plan. Step one....

kel I had my injection in my shoulder Tuesday, and today there is slightly pain when I twist my arm around. tbh, I dont know if the shot helped as much as it should have. the last one I had actually was painful when the medicine was healing, this time not so much I barely felt the medicine at all. when I did this with my right delt, I took it easy for a few weeks but couldnt avoid lifting all together. I just worked tjrouhh the pain, and when I got back on my little test cycle back in july or first of august I was healed in about 3 weeks beleive it or not. this time im going yo wait it out the best I can and try to bring my legs up in the meantime. its gonna be a challenge to avoid all upper body completely for a month tho, its really not an injury but the atart of an injury I would say. jusnt tryinh to let it heal on its own. I know the shot couldn't have hurt any so id say go ahead and get one if u can, just my two cents. sorry for spelling and grammar issues on phone right now

Oh I've had them years ago. Sometimes it can take several shots for a good effect. The test you jumped back on has natural anti-inflammatory properties as well.

To those with injuries, I hope they heal soon

Saw a physio today, she deep tissue massaged the problem area with a little trigger point therapy. As the injury is recent the scar tissue 'unravelled' fairly easily. She thinks the injury is trap OR rhomboid not both. And the pain has been because the scar tissue from the damaged muscle has been sticking to the non damaged one and ripping away when I do certain moves. It now feels loads better and there's hardly any discomfort there at all now. I'll see her again in 5 days for a follow up.

I hold the appropriate qualification. Not to be your girlfriend but for sports massage

Can't do it on yourself though

Yep. At.first I thought maybe I'm just getting old and can't handle it anymore. That isn't it. Booze makes us feel like crap and taxes the body pretty hard. People who do it often just never fully recoveryand therefore don't notice how crappy they feel. In my opinion. Lol. That isn't fact.

Got in late tonight and had to hit the gym in quick mode tonight so I could get home to eat and watch the Sugar Bowl. Legs tonight, modified it and still got a helluva workout believe it or not

    Leg extension
    2 feel sets
1 work set with 4 to 6 reps rest pause after 15 deep breaths in between

    Squats
    2 feel sets
1 work set with 6 to 8 reps, rest pause with 15 deep breaths in between RB until I couldn't do no more

Done and out and legs burning. Sometimes you got to get it in quick but if you add some intensity to it you can get a good workout on a busy schedule.

Often times when you are constricted by time it forces you to have a better workout. Nothing wrong with that at all. There was a period of time in my younger days where I felt I was spending too much time in the gym. I began to set a maximum time for each days workout. When that time was done I left, done or not. It taught me to keep up the pace.

I guess I'm sick. I just hacked my guts out. The past couple days it's been very difficult to eat. I've felt full from the start and nauseous after each meal. This morning I woke up with hunger pains and ate some oats. Immediately felt sick so I sat down for a while, drifted off and woke up again needing to make a mad dash to the bathroom.

If I don't go to the gym today, this will be day 5 no training.

    Incline dumbell press
1 Straight set 5 reps (this was a new weight for me hence low reps)
1 double drop set 5,3,2 plus partials

    Flat dumbell press
1 double drop set 4,3,2 plus partials

    Incline flyes
    1 straight set 8 reps

    Standing calf raise
    1 straight set 9 reps
    1 double drop 5,3,2

    Done in 40 minutes

Sooooo, should I stick strictly with the exercises I started with for the first 8 weeks/ rotations or do y'all stir it up a bit....
For instance on triceps press downs, do you use rope handle one time, horseshoe handle the next, short straight handle the next.
I'm thinking I should basically stick with the exercises I started with for now until I get more of my base recovered and baseline lifts recorded.......or is it a "six of this= half-dozen of that" type of thing
....and it was 26°F in my shop when I lifted this morning. I still managed to make a little sweat.

Nice session. As you pointed out, I think you can tell from the amount of reps you're pushing, that you can easily increase weight and including your rest pause, Max out at 12 reps or less.

I'm thinking I should basically stick with the exercises I started with for now until I get more of my base recovered and baseline lifts recorded.......or is it a "six of this= half-dozen of that" type of thing ....and it was 26°F in my shop when I lifted this morning. I still managed to make a little sweat.
I would stir it up and 'keep your muscles guessing'. Any slight variation in hand position can place focus on different areas of the muscle being worked.
