Watch any part of blood and guts and you will see Dorian get into the zone pre working set, his mind set and aggression is ready for that working set. Its took to true failure were many of us fail and think that's failure he goes past it. Infact look at any hard core pro training and look at the difference in how they train to guys in our gyms.

Many think failure is when they cant do anymore, well sorry fellas it isn't. If that BB was was crushing your mum or children you would find the power to shift it, its all in the mind., Many times I miss true failure because my mind wasn't right, I have to tap into my zone, my inner self and release the adrenalin what will make me do more reps and take my body to failure. How often on a set you think that's it, that's failure and stop and straight afterwards you think fuking hell I could of done more why didn't I push harder so you get hold of the weight again and go again?? well you should never ever feel that you should be at total failure and unable to perform another rep. That's the difference that's what true HIT is. Not everyone can do it and it takes time to adjust the mind and body.

What we have here, is a failure to communicate. I hit failure for my working set, then rest paused and got a few more until I failed. Then rest paused again until failure.

I suppose I don't quite have a grasp on the terminology like the pros around here.

Dont worry about it, I was just saying that in my opinion doing bb press and db press and going to failure on both would be better condensing the two and doing one pressing movement and truly going to failure because if done correctly you wouldn't be able to do any more pressing. But if your making progress you carry on doing what works for you that all what matters.

Thanks for the link. I'm glad I watched that because it's reassuring that I'm doing this correctly. I'm all there.

I want to get a video and post it here so you guys can see my intensity. I think that would be awesome.

Coincidentally with all this talk of overtraining. I hit a low this afternoon. I knew I had a lot of work to do outside this evening, but as my daughter napped I felt freaking exhausted.

My son wanted to watch a television show and I sat with him and drifted off. Not for long, but maybe 10-15 mins until I heard my daughter wake up.

I hardly ever take a nap, but today I was freaking beat. I get at least 8 hours at night, and on weekends, I get close to 10.

After shoulders and me passing out, haha, I had to cut grass and even needed to aerate my yard and I wanted to do my neighbors for her.

Holy shit! They call the aerator the billy goat, but they might want to change the name to the bull. This is my 3rd autumn using it, but it's always a surprise how rough it is.

Then had to put down the winterizer. Damn I did like 4 hours of yard work.

    Cashed.

    Sure...

Im doing slight incline(one notch up focusing on upper chest) - then regular incline(we went over this big man) and yes I can & I am hitting true failure then beyond on both presses! However, im not saying that doing 2 reg inclines is possible - im not able to do it either! But one thing is for sure - with chest if I have a spot I go for 2-3 forced every w/set and in my drops(don't count them as reps either, just beyond failure protocols) if not I go til weight comes down on me(literally - just drop em at wherever they are)

I know this is something one must keep adapting to(especially whatever controls the mindset)... And b4 I trained in here I always had the mindset to go to failure, & tho I wasn't it didn't take long to realize what it was - I was off a tad lol(my Father taught me this at the beginning of my lifting career) -- im in this now for the long haul - If I think I'm in a rut(and not hitting failure I'll be the first to let one know in here... It keeps me fresh(in the mind) and I think you know that I KNOW WHAT TRUE FAILURE IS!

I am passionate about this but I know its not for everyone what I do I think sometimes I should just say nothing unless they ask lol.........anyway I'm pissed off because I'm not training for 2 days so very irritable and need to take it out on some weights, and that means failure

Oh no... Please do be like you are it's so much more fun... It's like you can get thru to us by actually just being like a psychologist - you end up posing it as a question which imho helps tremendously -- not to mention we wouldn't have learned a thing by not being able to answer our own questions which most of the time it's just that - you just pose it differently

Ooh I can't wait to see your next session

Back n shoulders today. Went well.

Medium grip D-ring pull downs: 1 working, rp then drop
Smith supported rows: 1 working, rp then drop
BB rows: 1 working, rp then drop (seeing a trend here).....
CG pull downs: 2 heavy, slow
Behind back shrugs: 2 heavy, last with rp.

Shoulders. Can't train them (or chest) HIT just yet due to the slight pull, but it's getting close and feeling better.

BB front press: 2 sets, medium weight 10 reps or so
Lateral raises: 2 sets, heavy as possible, 10-12 reps
    Rear's: 2 sets, 12-15 reps.

Great back work and happy with shoulders, all things considered. Oh, and since it's the weekend I stuffed myself with a BBQ chicken flat bread pizza. Yes, I ate the whole thing.

Decent work w/ arms tonight. If a pump counts, then it went very well, I think. Left arm still takes the blood better than the right, but it should catch up eventually. May have slightly shorted tris tonight; got a last minute phone call. Plan to go ahead and hit shoulders tomorrow to punsh myself for not budgeting my time better.

    Seated alt. d'bell curls-2 w/u, Work-5+ reps, drop,3+ reps, drop,4+reps- 3+ reps.(The "-" mark between groups of reps is how I indicate a rest-pause).
    Incline alt. d'bell curls-2 w/u, Work-5+,drop,4+,drop,2+ - 3+ reps.
D'bell preacher curl- Work-4+,drop,2+,drop,3+ and 5 cheat reps w/ a slow neg. per side.
Close grip straight bar cable curl- Work-5,drop,3+,drop,6+ w/ some cheat.
    Close grip Smythe-2 w/u, Work-5,drop,4+,drop,5+
    Triceps press down w/ rope-1 w/u, Work1-3+,drop, 5+. Work2-6+ reps.
Biceps stretch off a high bar in Smythe machine- long 60 count.

    39 minutes.

Defo will focus on allowing myself more time and taking my full minute rest starting w/ this next rotation of body parts.

Shoulders this evening for me. Usually have to wait a day between arms and shoulders, but I didn't get as deep into working triceps as I needed to last night, so shoulders this evening. Presses should throw a little.work @ triceps and I aim to push extra more on shoulder presses tonight.

    Good morning everyone.
Delts are extremely tight this morning. I can feel the soreness setting in.
Sunday is a rest day for me, so I'm with you in spirit today if you're hitting the iron.

Unbelievable! I must have watched that 5x in a row... I believe DY was the one who really pushed the envelope in taking mass to a whole new level!

Nice Session AG... I bet you were able to shift some more weight w/that full min rest!

My delts/traps are very deeply sore!

Morning dungeoneers. You sick fvcks. I had such a great day yesterday with my daughter. Lots of great memories.

Back at it today and drooling to get in. In the lot right now about to go in waiting for my pre workout to kick in lol. Was supposed to be in here at 8am, my partner wasn't ready and asked to postpone til 9am.. Then the bastard just sent a text and bailed. Little irritated but I'm over it. Time to get on with the shred.

Actually worked chest and it was amazing session. And by the way, everyone here is patriots fans, especially has Hazard.

    Chest this morning

    Decline/wide hammer machine to warm

Every rep was holding at bottom of movement for few sec and using "working" as my final weight, reps hitting 12ish.

    Incline db flies 2 w 1 f 1 working 1 drop

    Flat flies 2 w 1 drop

    Flat db press 2 w 1 drop

    Incline db press 2 w 1 drop

Straight set of high cables and even cables.

    One arm cable fly

    Abs to finish off.

I know Noone is a doc or anything lol.....but was thinking. What do you guys think of going 1 week a month of heavy and the other weeks like I have been? Just a thought.

I'd listen or ask your doc, Sfla! Your health is far more important! Plus they don't seem to know exactly what's going on yet - :/ I know you want to go heavy man

Don't overlook the possibility of long term issues for a little short term pleasure.

Always consult with the doc. You could even call them and make it a quick phone convo.

Fuuuuuuccckkkkk yeeeaaaa!!!! SMASHED shoulders! Rest day yesterday and ate a ton with the wife after her competition. Not even a drinker and I drunk 2 small beers with her because I didn't really wanna be that guy. All that food had to help me today plus the rest day. I am taking yalls advice on the rest days. I am taking 2 days a week now where I use to only take one. Guys I don't know if I am doing this HIT thing right or not.I am going to where I can pick weight up any more. My shoulders was like HELL NO WE ARE DONE MFer...I told him ****ers they was going to grow today. I do know I am killing my workouts the last 2 weeks. I will post workout later. Have so much to do today around the house. Will be lurking on and off all day. This week will be 3rd week into my test c cycle going to start my var at week 5. So hopefully the test will start to kick in some this week.

I better stay away for Haz today if he is a PATS fan. They are going to kill my Cowboys. Anyways talk to everyone later.

I remember Swolecat, RIP, told me once that to train to failure you will want to quit LONG BEFORE your body does. I remember we would be on leg day and trying to hit 20 reps on his Swole Squat routine, after prefatiguing your knew you had chosen the correct weight if you wanted to quit at 12-15 reps, but you hit 20 or a couple more.

So when my body is on fire and I want to stop, that's when I know I MUST do more. Sometimes it's 1 more rep, and sometimes it's legendary.
