When I first started power lifting in middle school I had no clue what it would do for me in my future. I had a nac for it. I was strong as an ox but never realized it. I had so much potential but refused to capitalize on it. I was a very smart guy, wealthy family and all the support in the world. I was very good at a lot of things but never great. During high school I changed. Started smoking pot which led to harder drugs. I turned into a class A piece of white trash. Complete opposite of my family and how I was raised. My friends deserted me and my family almost did too which I can understand. I got my sh!t together and got back into the gym several years ago. At first I'll admit it was solely to impress females. What I didn't realize is how the gym helped me physically and mentally. I became a better person, at work, for my family, for me. I became a better me and it feels great. I was blessed with a great frame and genetics to become great. Something I haven't done before which is be great at something. My friends haven't came back around in years which is fine, I'm much more happier like that, but what has always been there is my family and the gym. My life would be a complete waste if I didn't make a career out of the gym. I feel like it's what I'm meant for. I can't blame anyone else for me not growing or looking my best and that's what's so fun and challenging. I've gone through so much pain the gym is the only thing that keeps me grounded and mentally free. I've come to love the singular lifestyle with just me and my girl, I love the pain, I love being sore I love starving, I like failing, I like succeeding. It all motivates me to become great, not only in the gym but in life. Go push some weight you fu@$ing iron addicts!

Nice post brother! I can relate with pretty much everything in there - and I wouldn't wish what I've gone through on my worst enemy... However, it's made me and molded me into the person I am today! Can I be better... Of course! That's why finding this balance in our lifestyle is so important... I too, had many of friends(or so I thought) all disappeared when I went down the wrong road - oh well... Truly, real friends would never do this.... Your much better off as am I without them!

Keep killin it CT4... You'll be whatever you want to be!

Sorry for hijacking the thread. I'm unable to post a thread. I'm going to the doctor this week but unsure what to say. Maybe yall have had a similar issue. I've had some weird chest pains since I've started my cycle. Happens a lot a night. I am taking melatonin and that has caused me palpitations in the past but these pains aren't that. I've had constant but very mild headaches. Anyone have a similar issue? Thanks in advance.
