Got my shot this morning and was just shooting the breeze with the nurse. She said I am probably the most educated of her TRT patients and said she is going to speak w/ my Dr. about letting me self-inject. I know a couple of the Drs. in that practice let a small portion of their patients go that route. So, we will see.
With my health history, I would really prefer to have my PCP handling as much of my medical issues as possible so if she will go along with it, I'll be tickled sh!tless.

My father has always done self injections except for when his urologist was handling his trt. He's in Florida now and they're pretty lax on a lot of stuff

My legs are sooo geeked. Barely made through Sams this morning. Aiming for cardio tonight, but if legs are still being wimpy, I may hit up arms.

There's many competitive BB'ers who we've seen go through this. Most tend to put out that they don't lift anymore, have different goals, etc., but in most cases it's due to a health issue. We can only imagine the cause. Notably and most current, take a look at Dave Palumbo. He's a shadow of what he once was.

I expect to lose some size as I age. But I expect to fight it as much as possible with intelligence, intense exercise, nutrition and a no-fail mindset. I look at guys my age, and many much younger and simply wonder how they let themselves get in that condition? It's disturbing to me. You only get one body so make the best of it. Our bodies have effective ages just like homes do, so maintain your house and keep it young at heart!

So, in essence, as we age we have to improvise, adapt and overcome to continue being the person we want to be.

Excellently worded post, Kel. As far as Palumbo, I honestly didn't recognize him @ first in some of the YouTube vids. The last 6-8 years have not been very kind to him compared to how he looked a decade ago. I hope it is just slightly accelerated aging and not a more serious issue.
I mean no disrespect to the man and hope he is healthy, but I remember him for quite some time back (I'm sure you do as well) and I was truly shocked by his current look.

Kel(or Igi), Marcus, or AG - if I was to combine my back and delts(do you also hit traps)? Just want the best advice from the most experienced members!!

I'm trying to lower the pain or amount of days where it's much more prevalent - or do you think this approach would be worse on my R shoulder? I ask b/c if I can make a good session w/this I wouldn't have to worry as much about the pain(bad pain) in my R Shoulder(it's in the posterior part of the structure(GHH)...

Whatever you do, the priority needs to be your health and staying on top of your labs to see how your body handles the changes.

Just my 2cc, big guy, because we all want you to be healthy!

Edit: I guess what I'm trying to say is please stay healthy.. Why not maintain, refine, and evaluate for the next 6-9 months? Then if all is well healthwise, and you see you want a tad more size then, go at it slow and steady? . Also, if you did decide that you had to ramp it back up later on, you would have a nice period of time there to allow for some extended healing time, continue your mobility stretches, and just let the system recuperate prior to the onslaught.
You seem to be nicely fixed for.your TRT, so just do what you do so well with HIT, but with an eye towards possibly giving the joints a slight break.
Again, I'm just an old man "waffling" on.

Thank you guys for your comments. I knew what I want to do and I know what I should do and you have helped me to decide at this stage what I should do.

This thread is the fuking dogs bollocks, we are like brothers in here. I love how my motivation and the intense workouts what I put out at the start of this thread as made such beasts, everyone of you are so advanced now its unbelievable. I learn from all of you and the is one thing what keeps us together and that's the IRON.

    Thanks for your comments

For me I wouldn't and couldn't train back and shoulder together, I know some do in here but it would be impossible for me to do two major huge bodyparts in one session and goes against how I train. But if your trying to help an injury or a pullback then give it a go but for me I would just work around each body part, change your split and attack what you can without inflaming the shoulder to much. Lets be honest how could you really train back and shoulder in one session unless you are only using a few movements? unless you have a easy second muscle group and swap them round next time you train but again its not my way or style of training.

Thx Marcus - and this was exactly my thinking too! I used to hit chest and back(which I believe is when the switch - to HIT - happened lol) -- in no way could I keep my intensity and or NOT short change something... So what tou brought up and how I've been attacking my back & delts/traps would be damn near impossible NOT to short change a BP!

Plus it seems I have figured out how my body responds best... One BP e7+d... If anything I'll add a rest day for my shoulder! Yeah - plus im not fixing something that isn't broke

I do. I understand that combining two bigger body parts is not for everyone but I had to implement this some time ago to work around my schedule and my son's. I've adapted to it. You gotta do what ya gotta do to get by. The lesser of two evils, so to speak.

You could try it but it isn't for me, remember we are all different but it goes against some of my HIT principles or I could just be old and warn out and don't have the energy anymore lol

Good to know, Kel! And thank you!

At this time I just don't think I'm at the point where I could do it and not short change something - not to say I can't adapt down the road if applicable... Again I appreciate the reply and to see why etc

Now we know that's not true LOL - ATM it's not in the way I've been training and attacking each BP - when change is needed I'll tweak things around the HIT principles - as it's built so much more muscle than any other training I've done and it's only been coming up on 8months -

I've watched and listened to your w/o's and posts - and tho we're always learning i know what you say WORKS - if applied right HIT is truly the best 'muscle building training I've ever come across' I love it lol

^^^ All of the above posts show what is one of the many great things about this thread. We all love HIT and.have our own tweaks, quirks, and preferences; but have you ever noticed how we all communicate our experiences and preferences and respect the other person's input without any of the drama and nonsense that is so common in many forums?

X2.. Was thinking about this the other day. Out of all the people in the world, we have this small community here where there is literally only a handful of us who ended up here and get to share our love for this sport and enjoy the relationships we build.

I echo what KK said Marcus, as he summed it up pretty perfectly on how I would see myself when I get to your respective ages.

    BACK
Stretching RC ex's(very tight today - R shoulder period) abs rolling(got a tennis ball in the rear delts too)

    - neutral grip pull ups holding chest at handles/grips for 3+sec on each rep(12+/10+/8+) -- seems like this will also help pull in my R scapula!

    1. Straight arm pulldowns - 2 warm ups - 1w 8 drop 5+ RP 1-2

    2. BB Bent over rows heavy - 2 feelers 1w 5(shaky 6th) drop 5 stayed w/same weight 3

    3. One arm DB Rows(new weight) - 1 warm up - 1w 5+RP 1.5 drop 4 drop 2-3

    4. Neutral grip/& wide grip hammer strength row - neutral 1w +RP 11 failing -- wide 1w+RP 8 drop 4(both straight sets just same machine and very fast paced

    5. Deads - felt much stronger snd form felt great... -- pyramided up 1w(#365 not heavy but working on it) drop 6 drop(225)8 -- definitely need to bring this working weight up - I was cursing my arse off lol I was so spent

Weighted hypers to finish - 2w 12+/10+ failing

Weights done in 46min(woulda been much quicker but the deads took the most time -- 'twas a really good session

I wish I could have snapped a picture of the look on her face
