WOW! This thread is moving fast! Shit has been bananas for me lately. I'm retaining some good size being off cycle. People close to me who know can't believe it. I'm off cycle out of necessity and not choice. I'll be getting back to it very shortly. I also find that my body responds extremely well after longer breaks. I always get back on and break a plateau.

I do plan on doing short bursts this go around and sticking with it for longer. Financially I have been really strapped but I'm digging outa that now.

Switching subject..... I just bought a new car today. A family car..... Safe for the kids. I'm working on getting a second car to make life easier for us. The new job is going extremely well and I'm excelling at it. They've given me a shit ton of over time. More so than most of the guys there. I'm taking all of it too.

My gym time is suffering but this is only temporary. I needed to get settled at work and get some shit straightened out before being able to do the things that are a hobby.

I'm almost there..... As soon as I'm in full swing I'm going to pop back up weighing 260 again but leaner. I managed 250 this time with abs showing so this next go will be even better! Ofcoarse utilizing HIT style to the best of my ability! I'm glad to see everyone is doing well. BG I'm glad you're in here. You're the "Branch warren" of this forum lol.

X2. With any type of shoulder issue ignoring it or trying to work through it is a mistake. I learned my lesson with a ruptured bursa. Will.never do that again. Cost me about 3 months of PT and even more time to slowly rebuild a bit of strength.
I can work through or around most injuries but shoulder isn't one of them.

Marcus, personally, I would go wiith option #2 but also if there is any way possible, try to find a good PT as Prox mentioned. Physical therapy was a huge help with regaining ROM for my shoulder (although mine was a different issue). I was almost to the point they were going to put me under in order to manipulate my shoulder. It took time but PT made a huge difference. Also they may be able to suggest which exercises would be the best choices.
    Just my thoughts.

Find a qualified physical therapist and tell them your history & needs. They should do:

    1. Range of motion, joint motion exam of your glenohumeral joint.
    2. A series of manual muscle tests to determine how strong your supraspinatus, infraspinatus and teres minor are. This alone should give you some improved insight as to how much or little each of these are involved.

Hope I've been somewhat of a help. Anything I can do Marcus, let me know.
I've just emailed a PT who works with some pro athletes so what he says.

That sounds like a great step in a good direction. Would be interested in hearing what feedback you get and also what is determined if you proceed with an evaluation. I'm coming up on 52, so any information is useful.

I was told I need surgery but like proximity states it's hard to know how much damage without a mri. But if I can get some more mobility and flexibility I'll be happy.

The short burst cycles are amazing to run if your a good responder and also if you couple them with a pre cycle prime.

That's some serious weight/muscle mate at 250lbs with abs, serious stuff and I guess your tuition with Ian H helped you to achieve this new level of freaky learning how to go into true failure and push into the growth zone using your mind control is a whole new level, Ian's a good guy and got a wealth of knowledge

    Morning all!

Bent over flys: 1 ws with drop
    Shrugs: 3ws
Face pulls: 1 ws with drop
Incline bench, face-down flys: 2 sets w/ high reps
Hammer row: 2 ws of 9 and 7 (PB with 3 plates on each side)
Free-motion pulldowns: 1 ws with drop

    * I do quite a few work-up sets each and always a feeler - for protection

My back is still geeked and I have been putting legs off for a few days. Think I'm going to say fvck it for once and hit arms before legs. That way I can hit arms tonight, get the deep tissue massage tomorrow, and should be golden for hitting legs very early Sat. morning. Don't usually like to vary from my rotation, but that would help me recoup some of the missed lifts this week.
My boss asked me what I though about working all weekend and I told him, "Honestly, I don't think very fvcking much of the idea". He laughed, so hopefully he was receptive to the message and I'll get at least 1 day off.

"Honestly, I don't think very fvcking much of the idea" Lmao thats priceless

That sounds like a great plan. Im doing the same kinda less the massage (down fall of being poor), rest/re-feed day today and a ball dropping leg day tomorrow. I love it when things are going right, big bowl of pasta/meat/spicysausage right now. Fuk ya!!!!

    Legs tonight

    Seated calves 4 sets

Leg press (been a long time) feet together started 3 each side to see. Worked my way up by adding 1. Working set was 7 each with double drop. Knee was ok here

Reverse vs quat 1f 1w kept at 4 each side dd

Attempted extensions both legs at a time....wasn't happening. So did single leg extensions. Good leg more weight and other leg very little weight. 2 sets

    Seated curls

    Lying curls

Done. Was happy quads are on fire, hams need to strecth out more. Just getting a feel for what I can do.

^^^ That's great that the knee gave no problems on leg presses, Sfla! Wise move on going easy w/ the knee on extensions. Think tight hams are an issue for most of us.

Great: Infraspinatus & Teres Minor undamaged completely (I predicted they were going to be torn going into the MRI, totally surprised/blown away).
Amazing: NO SURGERY needed at this time & I should be lifting into my 70's

*Although still have to meet with MD, want to see if biceps is o.k. and if possibly he can do a sub-acromial decompression to "clean" things up in the area.
    That was last week.

So talk about your ultimate psych.

I'm sitting there with the doc this afternoon and I have a big-assed smile on because of the good news from above . . . . BUT, seems he had a bit of an unintentional brain fart when he told the MRI findings to my wife - my first clue was that he didn't share the same big-assed smile as me.

Wouldn't you know, 2 out of the big 3 are gone and I'm down to the third, which is likely partially torn as well. Likely have a labral tear along with the biceps tendon that attaches to it as well.

Sorry, this is where I try to sound like a bad-ass, because my pain-tolerance/awareness is odd. He tells me he is shocked that I have as little pain as I do and can function as well as I do with all of the damage that I have. Pretty much the same thing another ortho told me when I obliterated my hip joints into dust before I had them replaced. He actually was pissed at me because he had to work so hard to get all of the bone spurs off of my hip sockets and I bloodied the hell out his surgical room, LOL.

So he tells me what I already know (surgery), along with "you know, if we fixed this about 10 years ago when you had your first MRI . . . . " All I could do is agree, because I 100% agree with him.

Not sure what I'm going to do now, except be more careful with my workouts - but I have a bit of a time-bomb ready to go off in my shoulder

Sure as hell is not going to keep me out of the gym however, not with all I've been through to get back to where I am now.

The leg press felt great actually ag. Except getting up and down out of it lmao.

Extensions I think I can adjust next time and not have the machine come so much underneath me as it normally does and this might help.

Funny too was gonna pm until when I got out. Sitt8ng at home waiting for the wife. With everything that has gone on with me I get a little nervous at times. And today pre-workout hit.me freaking hard. When got home heart was racing, I was pumped...left arm kinda shaking. Lmfao. Got me a little too nervous. Maybe Saturday I'll take 1 scoop and not 1.5 .

LOL, yes sir, I would ease into the preworkout until you find a comfortable amount. If you were talking about shooting me a PM, feel free to anytime. If I can help or give you an answer, I'm more than happy to. . The getting nervous issue is natural, I still occasionally get a hard twinge of pain or some excessive fibrillation and it absolutely increases the "Ah, shit" factor.
I like the idea of adjusting the amount of travel on leg extensions, especially if you think it is bending your leg back too far.
